MOSELEY -- William "Elson" Moseley,(Bill) went home to be with the Lord on April 17, 2010. He was born to Willie E. Moseley and Mattie Bell (Meek) Moseley on June 9, 1926 in Venus, NM. He grew up in the Estancia Valley. He graduated as valedictorian of his class from Stanley High School in 1943. He joined the Merchant Marines in 1945. He met Della Hoffman in 1944 and they were married on August 18, 1946. They moved to Albuquerque in 1948. They were members of Parkview Baptist Church where Elson was a deacon. Elson worked as a pipe fitter for the Santa Fe Railroad from 1947 - 1953. He worked at ACF from 1953-1967 and then was a maintenance supervisor at GE until he retired in 1991. Elson and Della worked hard to provide for their three children and his mother, Mattie Bell Moseley, and sent each of the three children through college. Elson enjoyed coin-collecting, painting ceramics, creating decorative ostrich eggs, gardening and growing roses. He was very mechanically inclined and could fix anything. He enjoyed studying scripture and had read the bible in its entirety twice. He is greatly loved and will be deeply missed. He was preceeded in death by his father; his mother; and his sister Ada V. Moseley. He is survived by his brother Marvin M. Moseley and wife Helen (Hatton) Moseley; his three children James E. Moseley, Marilyn (Moseley) Maito and husband John F. Maito, Kenneth G. Moseley and wife Linda (Farmer) Moseley; grandchildren Ben Moseley, Kelly Moseley, Jennifer Maito, Connie Maito, Stephanie Maito, Ryan Moseley and wife Andrian (Garcia) Moseley, Kayla (Moseley) Blystone and husband Joseph Blystone; an uncle Theo Ray Meek; cousins Ruby (Meek) Bell, Viola (Meek) Purcella and husband Charles Purcella, William Ray Meek; and many more cousins, nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place at AllState Cremation, Aurora, Co. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 8600 Academy Rd NE. Contributions may be made in his name to the church or charity of your choice.
