MARTINEZ, CARMEN Our loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Carmen was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Jose Martinez. She is survived by her daughter, Bessie (Thomas) Ortega and her three sons: Milton (Candace) Martinez, John (Louise) Martinez and Julian (Norma) Martinez and numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Carmen's Life Celebration will begin with a Viewing on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 4:00 pm followed by a Rosary at 5:00 pm in the Floral Chapel at Salazar Mortuary. Mass will be held at 10:00 am Monday November 25, 2013 at Sacred Heart Church (309 Stover Ave SW). Burial will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45 pm. GARCIA, JESUS T. age 75, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday November 14th, 2013. He was born August 17th, 1938 in Las Vegas, NM to Domingo & Tomasita Garcia. Jesus is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pita Garcia; son, Walter Garcia and wife Melissa; son, James Garcia and wife Amy; daughter, Darlene Garcia; dog, Buddy; grandchildren Noah, Paige, Ariana, & Madison; sister Mary Lou Trujillo and husband Joseph; brother Frank "Poncho" Garcia; many brothers and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Domingo & Tomasita Garcia; siblings Francisco, Manuel, Ismael, Benito, Desiderio, Moises, Johnny, & Ernesto; and Grandson Tyler Miller. Jesus worked for 17 years as a miner in Grants before moving to Albuquerque where he worked in automotive sales. Before retiring he worked part-time as a Security Guard. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved fishing, watching old western movies, reading, car shows, and time with his family. A viewing will be held on Sunday, November 16th, 2013 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Daniel's Funeral Home on Southern Blvd in Rio Rancho. A Rosary will be held Monday, November 17th, 2013 at 10:30am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. John Vianney Catholic Parish. Interment will follow immediately at Vista Verde Cemetery. SOLANO TENORIO, MARIA DOMINGA age 101, born Aug. 4, 1912, went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 11, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents Zenon and Maria Tenorio, her brother Santiago "Jimmie Joe", and Crescencio Tenorio; her husband Pedro Cordova; daughter Julia Cordova and son-in-law Enrique. She is survived by her daughter Lugardita Aguirre, and son-in-law Tony; son Mr. and Mrs. Pete Cordova; 25 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 15th at San Martin De Porres Parish, 8321 Camino San Martin SW, with viewing at 10:30 am., Mass at 11:00 and interment to follow at Sunset Memorial at 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. CHAVEZ, MELQUIADES "MEL" Age 58, beloved father, son, brother and uncle, was embraced by the Lord, Tuesday, November 5, 2013, while surrounded by his loving family. He was a lifelong resident of Bernalillo, NM. Mel enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and was an avid Broncos fan. Mel is survived by his precious children, Augustine Silva, Erica and Eric Sierra; his loving mother, Carmen M. Chavez; his siblings, Maria Moreno, Ralph Chavez, Barbara Saavedra, Cecilia Padilla, Johnny Chavez and James Baca; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. GONZALES, DIANNE "LEAL" (HONEY) Heaven just got a whole lot sweeter on this day, October 27, 2013. Dianne was born in Corrales, NM, on May 26th, 1939, and died at the age of 74. She was a devoted member of Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque for many decades. Known to all as "Honey", she touched so many in her life time and was the most beautiful soul God could have ever blessed this earth with and our family. She was surrounded by her family and many friends when she completed her journey to be with our lord. While Honey could boost of her many achievements in this life, none compare to the pride and devotion she felt towards her family, friends, and the Lord. She is survived by her mother Josefita Leal (Algodones): sister Vera and Frank Campos (Santa Fe): brother Andrew and Andrea Leal (Albuquerque): daughters Leona Gonzales Romero (Algodones); Christine Baca (Ft. Honey was a loyal friend to all and a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be missed by everyone whose lives She touched and we will always keep her close in our hearts and minds. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on November 9th at 11:00 am at the New Beginnings Church of God, 3601 Montgomery Blvd NE, immediately followed by a celebration to honor the joy that Honey has brought to our lives. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's in honor of Honey's grandson Kody who is a cancer survivor.
