TORRES, JOSEPHINE Age 81, a lifelong resident of Socorro, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 11, 2013. She was born in Socorro on March 19, 1932 to Juan B. and Teresita (Trujillo) Gonzales. Josephine grew up in Socorro and graduated from Socorro High School. She married Felix C. Torres not long after she graduated and they raised six children and four step-children. Josephine and Felix managed the Florida Mobile Home Park for many years and she worked as a sales clerk at Newberrys from 1984-1998. She was a great cook and loved having her grandchildren and great grandchildren around. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years, Felix who passed away in 1987; her step-daughter, Frances Lopez; her brothers, Johnny Gonzales; and Frank Gonzales; and her sisters, Ramona Trujillo; Irene Garcia; Gertrude Long; and Concha Gianera. Josephine is survived by her devoted children, Della Vega and husband, Lencho; Theresa Del Curto and husband, Pete; Sandra Aerts and husband Robert; Christopher Torres; Thomas Torres and wife, Debbie; and Douglas Torres and wife, Gloria; her step-children, Felix Torres Jr and wife, Margaret; Jerry Torres and wife, Cindy; Alfred Torres and wife, Loudres; her sisters, Linda Griego; and Priscilla Saavedra; her brother, Max Gonzales; her loving grandchildren, Joey Vega and wife, Loretta; Delilah Walsh and husband, Dennis; Ryan Del Curto; Scott Del Curto; Cynthia Aerts; Jasmine Torres; Jared Torres and wife, Farl; Christopher Torres Jr; David Torres and wife, Merlinda; Jessica Torres; and Patrick Torres. She will also be greatly missed by her many great grandchildren; and her loving and devoted caregiver, Helen Dennis. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 9:30 am at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real , Socorro followed by the Mass of Resurrection which will be celebrated at 10:00 am with Father Andrew Pavlak as celebrant. Interment will take place in the San Miguel Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lencho Vega, Peter Del Curto, Robert Aerts, Ryan Del Curto, Scott Del Curto and Joey Vega. Honorary pallbearers are Christopher Torres, Tommy Torres, Douglas Torres, Felix Torres, Alfred Torres and Jerry Torres. RICH, GEORGE DOLLIVER George Dolliver Rich, of Albuquerque, passed away December 6th, peacefully at home and surrounded by his family. He was born October 28, 1948 in Pampa, Texas to G.D. "Johnny" and Tonetta "Toni" Rich. He was raised in Lovington, New Mexico, and after college, he settled in Albuquerque. George was devoted to his family as a loving spouse, cherished father, devoted grandfather, selfless brother, and caring uncle. He was fiercely loyal to his wonderful friends. He was a successful business owner in real estate and construction for many years. George was an avid golfer and fisherman, and he loved to play cards. He passes on a legacy of empathy, compassion, thoughtfulness, generosity, hard work, and strong values. He will be missed tremendously. He is survived by his former wife, Shirley; daughters, Charlotte (Charlesly) Joseph and Sarah (Wesley) Rich-Jackson; grandchildren, Oliver, Emery, and Ashleigh Rich-Jackson and Alexander Joseph of Albuquerque and brother, Chris Rich and family of Denver. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Rich. SILVA, ANITA Anita, age 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday. She is predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Jesus. Anita is survived by her children: Cathy Silva, David Silva (Vicky), Roy Silva (Kathy) and Yvonne Silva; sisters: Ida, Sylvia and Alice; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and cousin, Phil Baca. She enjoyed her hobbies of sewing and dancing. Anita's Life Celebration will begin on Saturday at St. Anne's Catholic Church with a Viewing at 9:00 followed by a Rosary at 9:30 and a Mass at 10:00 a.m. Graveside service will be at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. LEAL, JOSEFITA MARIA Josefita (Fita) Leal, age 93, was called to be with our Lord on December 2, 2013. She was born in Corrales, NM on October 30th, 1920 and was a great-granddaughter of Francisco Gutierrez and Encarnacion Lucero and the daughter of Arsenio Armijo and Esther Gutierrez. A resident of Algodones, NM for over 50 years, she was a member of the Corrales Historical Society and attended Our Lady of Sorrows Church for many decades. In her later years, Fita spent her time enjoying knitting, crocheting, and was a very accomplished artist. She was surrounded by her family when she completed her journey to be with our Lord. Fita was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She will be missed by everyone whose life's she touched and we will always keep her close in our hearts and minds. She is survived by her daughter Vera and Frank Campos (Santa Fe); son Andrew and Andrea Leal (Albuquerque); grandchildren Leona Gonzales Romero (Algodones), Christine Baca (Ft. Peirce, FL), Peggy Jo Gonzales (Albuquerque), Janet and Robert Morrison (Albuquerque), Patricia and Michael Bradshaw (Albuquerque), Valentina and Barry Klein (Albuquerque), Bernadette Cortez (Santa Fe), Yvette and Roy Hickman (Albuquerque), Olivia and Tamara Leal (Albuquerque), Sarah Jean Leal and Henry Geoffrion (Albuquerque), Lisa Leal Guarduno (Albuquerque); great-grandchildren Leslie and Ross Martinez, Antoinette and Johnny Unale, Carlos Ray Baca, Venessa Romero, Jennifer Rodriguez, Carlos Rodriguez, Eric Hickman, Cash Leal, Henry Geoffrion, Xander Geoffrion, Jared C. Bradshaw, Wesley C. Bradshaw, Kody M. Smith, Jonas James Morrison, Lexi Jo Klein; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Josefita was preceded in death by her husband Valentin Leal in 2006, son Valentino Leal in 1991, daughter Dianne Leal in 2013; and her great-grandson Leo A. Gonzales in May of 2011. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and reception will be held this Friday with Mass at 10:00 a.m. at the Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Bernalillo, NM. Burial will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.

WALLS, RONALD JOE Ronald "Joe" Walls, age 57, passed away November 21st, 2013 at Lovelace Hospital in Downtown Albuquerque. Joe was born on February 22, 1956 to Duane and Sylvia Walls in Perry, Oklahoma. He is survived by his younger sisters Bobbi and Leanne, and brother Johnny. He leaves behind his wife of 36 years, Darlene, sons Justin and Jeremy, and daughter-in-law Kristin. He was an amazing and loving Papa to granddaughter Kylie age 6, grandsons Aiden age 5 and Elias age 20 months, and unborn granddaughter due January 2014. Joe was very well known throughout his Los Lunas community as a hardworking and devoted fabricator and welder at his company of nine years, CEMCO in Belen. Joe will be sorely missed because of his quiet personality and caring demeanor could win over anybody's heart. Besides his God-given talent with machinery you would find him fiddling in his garage turning junk into art. He will be mostly remembered for his avid fishing and hunting adventures with his sons and brothers-in-law. What Joe loved more than his fishing pole was taking his young grandchildren for rides on his four-wheeler. This man will be truly missed. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, 914 Los Lentes SE in Los Lunas at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. MARTINEZ, CARMEN Our loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Carmen was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Jose Martinez.
