ATENCIO, GLORIA Gloria Atencio, 66, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord Friday, December 6, 2013. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Charles Anthony "Chuck" Atencio; parents, Luis and Ramona Saiz; daughter, Deborah Yvette Gonzales and husband, Ron; sons, Matthew Charles Atencio and Andrew Paul Atencio; grandson, Christopher Matthew Atencio; granddaughters, Sara Grace Gonzales and Isabella Marian Atencio; brothers, Louie Saiz and wife, Theresa and Marty Saiz and wife, Yvonne; sisters, Yolanda Sinkar, Christine Saiz, Victoria Cruz and husband, Corey, Rebecca Cox and Bridget Serna and husband, Raymond; and many nieces and nephews. Gloria graduated from St. Mary's High School. She worked for and retired from Sandia National Laboratory. Mrs. Atencio was active at the Barelas Senior Center. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited Tuesday, December 10, 2013, 6:00 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Place SE, Albuquerque, with Raymond Serna reciting. Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, with Father Jerome D. Mueller, Celebrant. Interment will take place at Mt. BARON, SGT. ROBERT W. Age 47, an eight-year resident of Bernalillo, NM passed away on Friday, December 6, 2013. He was born on September 10, 1966 to James Bernard and Karola (Loder) Baron of Simi Valley, CA. He graduated from California State, Northridge with a BA in Political Science and Public Administration. He was very proud of his work with the US Park Service as a Ranger, the Los Angeles County as a Probation Officer, and just being promoted to Sergeant with the Sandoval County Sheriff's Office. Robert was very involved with the Law Enforcement United which is an organization committed to "Honor the Fallen, and Remember the Survivors." He had ridden in the LEU Annual Memorial Bicycle Ride in memory of Sgt. Joe Harris in 2010. Sgt. Baron's hobbies included Shotokan Karate where he had earned his second degree black belt, riding horses, and was a leader in Boy Scouts. He was, also a member of Calvary Chapel of Rio Rancho. His quick sense of humor and love and devotion to his family will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, James Baron; and brother, Tony Baron. Sgt. Baron is survived by his wife of 20 years, Christine "Krysia" (Peleszak) Baron, of Bernalillo, NM; son, Colter Eljasz Baron, of Bernalillo, NM; mother, Karola Paul, of Escondido, CA; sister, Terese H. Baron Hill and husband, Sylvan, of Marlboro, NJ; niece, Avery Faith Hill; nephews, Daniel Baron, Andrew Baron and Michael Baron. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the Santa Ana Star Center, 3001 Civic Center Circle SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87144. DIETZ, WANDA G. Wanda G. Dietz, 71, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2013. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Mike and Rosemary Dietz, Mitch and Charlene Dietz, Michelle and Del Helgeson; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Wayne and Betty Garrard; sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Dana Hartshorn; sisters-at-heart Dixie Mummert and Kathy Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Presbyterian Hospital 5th Floor GAC and Kaseman Hospice for their exceptional care of Wanda and support to the family. Cremation has taken place; a celebration of life service will be held Saturday, January 11, 2014. GRIEGO, CARLOS A. (FREDDY) age 68, a resident of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord on December 6, 2013. Freddy was preceded in death by his mother, Victoria Griego; his custodial grandmother, Carolina Griego; his custodial grandfather, Celso Griego; and his stepmother, Helen Griego. Freddy is survived by his wife, Lydia Montoya-Griego; sons, Jerome and Clifford Griego; sister, Shirley Gutierrez; nephews, Victor and Toby Gutierrez; father, Celso Griego; step brother, Rudy Griego; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. Freddy was a proud Veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era, where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and recognition as a Marksman. He was a loyal patriot who valiantly served his country with honor and distinction. He was tremendously generous to those in need with a deep humility and was always willing to give what he could to help those around him in need. Freddy was a gentle, peaceful man who had a profound love and devotion to God. He was member of the Catholic Church, the D.A.V., Chapter 3 and the American Legion, Post 49. Freddy will be missed more than any words could ever express. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel by Pat Muniz-Roberts. Final visitation will be Wednesday, December 11, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph NW, Monsignor Lambert Luna, presider. HARGRAVE, MARGARET D. Margaret D. Hargrave, March 4, 1922 - December 3, 2013. Margaret, 91, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away very peacefully in her home Tuesday evening. She is survived by her son, Wayne Hargrave and wife, Darlene of Belen, NM; son Paul Hargrave and wife Jacqueline of Albuquerque, NM; son Darwin Hargrave and wife Carolyn of Livermore, CO; daughter Mary Keckler and husband Lloyd of Tacoma, WA; sister Evelyn Cardinal of Ogdensburg, NY; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews (Tracy claims to be her favorite!). HUGHES, JEFFREY WILLIAM Age 47, of Tijeras, New Mexico, passed away on December 1, 2013. Jeff was born on October 24, 1966 in Roswell, New Mexico. Jeff graduated from Los Alamos High School in 1986. He married Minor Katherine (Katie) Agnew on December 31, 1995. Jeff is survived by his loving father and stepmother, W. R. (Reggie) Hughes and Mary (Maria) Hughes; and his mother and stepfather, Barbara Watkins Rizzo and George Rizzo; Katie Hughes and their two children: Jeffrey William Hughes, Jr. (JJ) and Minor CaraShea Hughes (CaraShea); his brothers Alfred Abreu (Edwina) and Jay Abreu (Victoria); and two nieces, Janelle and Brittany Abreu; and a nephew, Freddie Abreu. Jeff is also survived by his companion Amy Fitzgerald and her children Brianna and Christian Kurdi; and numerous friends and relatives. Jeff's greatest joys were his son and daughter and taking them camping and fishing. He loved the outdoors and the mountains, his four cats, his music and movies. Jeff was a computer tech who enjoyed his work at the Sandoval County IT Department. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was and is dear to our hearts. MCCULLOUGH, MELINE A. Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 6, 2013, at the age of 77. Meline was a woman of extremely strong faith, spirituality and kindness. She was a generous, loving, supportive and unselfish woman who always put other people before herself. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Douglas McCullough; son Edward McCullough and wife Brooke, daughter Shawn Ozuna and husband Carlos, all of Albuquerque, NM. Her grandchildren Kaitlyn, Haley, and Lucas were the greatest joy of her life. Our lives have been immeasurably enriched by knowing her. It is with great sadness and a belief in life eternal that we say goodbye. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. HARDING, OLIVIA GRACE (JARAMILLO) Age 82, of Moriarty, NM, peacefully passed away on December 6, 2013 in Albuquerque, NM. Olivia was born November 23, 1931 in Vallecitos, NM to Fidel and Eleanor Jaramillo. Olivia was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and a member of the Divine Mercy Ministry. She was a retired P.A.C.U. Nurse Tech for Lovelace. She retired after 27.5 years. Olivia was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Adelaido Jaramillo, Dennis Jaramillo, Fred Jaramillo, Orlando Jaramillo, Fidel Jaramillo Jr., Andreita Jaramillo, Mable Gallegos and Ester Jaramillo. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Joe D. Harding; children John and his wife Loraine Harding, Richard and his wife Dollie Harding, and Barbara and her husband Tom Christian; grandchildren Lawrence and Sonia Harding, Lee and Christy Harding, JD Harding, Richard and Cristy Harding Jr., Angel and Joey Duran, Vernie Christian, and Tommy and Carolyn Christian; great-grandchildren Vincent Christian, Julia Grace Christian, and three on the way (two to be born in February and one due in June); numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins whom Olivia adored and loved; and her loving pet dog, Sparky. RICH, GEORGE DOLLIVER George Dolliver Rich, of Albuquerque, passed away December 6th, peacefully at home and surrounded by his family. He was born October 28, 1948 in Pampa, Texas to G.D. "Johnny" and Tonetta "Toni" Rich. He was raised in Lovington, New Mexico, and after college, he settled in Albuquerque. George was devoted to his family as a loving spouse, cherished father, devoted grandfather, selfless brother, and caring uncle. He was fiercely loyal to his wonderful friends. He was a successful business owner in real estate and construction for many years. George was an avid golfer and fisherman, and he loved to play cards. He passes on a legacy of empathy, compassion, thoughtfulness, generosity, hard work, and strong values. He will be missed tremendously. He is survived by his former wife, Shirley; daughters, Charlotte (Charlesly) Joseph and Sarah (Wesley) Rich-Jackson; grandchildren, Oliver, Emery, and Ashleigh Rich-Jackson and Alexander Joseph of Albuquerque and brother, Chris Rich and family of Denver. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Rich. SCHRAMM, MARK S., MD 12/10/56 - 3/29/12 To my brother It is hard to believe you are not here, leaving this world almost two years ago from the disease which you successfully treated so many people. Born in Albuquerque to the late Arnold and Charlotte Schramm, preceded by grandfather Eugene Schramm. Always knowing what you wanted in life and doing it well; graduating from UNM with a degree in Biomedical Engineering, going on to graduate from UNM Medical School and then moving to Virginia where you went to MCV in Richmond for Internal medicine. Specializing in cardiology, you studied at Utah and UTMB-Galveston as a Fellow in Cardiology. Returning to NM you practiced Cardiology in Farmington for many years. Moving back to the Albuquerque area, where in retirement, you enjoyed playing golf with your buddies, spending time with family, pursuing all your hobbies perfecting your Chocolate Chip Cookie - You are missed & as you always quoted, "Ars Longa Vita Brevis"
