MARTINEZ -- Joe D. Martinez, age 53, our beloved son, husband, father, brother and grandfather, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 22, 2005. Joe was born in Chimayo, NM and was a resident of Bernalillo, NM for 33 years. He was preceded in death by his father, George; brothers, Adonise and Rubel Martinez. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Emma; sons, Louie and wife, Anita, Thomas and wife, Renee; his mother, Sofia; siblings, Gilbert, Elena, Adam, Matilda, Sammy and Susie; one very special grandson, Jacob Joe Martinez; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, NM. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2005. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2005. A gravesite service and burial will follow at Canones Community Cemetery in Canones, NM. ROMERO -- Esther Romero was born December 31, 1953 in Texas. She passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2005 in Albuquerque. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, Candelario Zamora and Della Sisneros; her brothers and sister, Toby Edward Zamora, Debra Duran and Vincent Sisneros Jr. She is survived by her eight sisters; five brothers; 18 nephews; 12 nieces; one great-niece; Sofia Beaman and husband, Paul of Clovis, Rita Saiz and husband, Louis of Clovis, Ruth Barnhill and husband, Ben of Florida, Thomas Zamora and wife, Marla of Mountainair, Mary Segura and husband, Pat of Clovis, Gabriela Lopez and husband, Gilbert of Albuquerque, Lisa Caldwell and Abe Chavez of Clovis, Manuel Zamora and wife, Jeanette of Albuquerque, Josie Maldonado of Portales, Herman Sisneros of Albuquerque. ORTIZ -- Eloy Roberto (Bobby) Ortiz, 65, born November 5, 1940 passed away on November 18, 2005 with his loving family by his side. Mr. Ortiz is the beloved husband to, Mrs. Alicia Segovia Ortiz married for 30 years. He is also survived by his loving mother, Mrs. Pauline V. Ortiz; three loving children, Cecilia A. Coca and husband, Jeff, Geralda (Lala) Jansen and husband, David and Abraham (Aba) Ortiz; three brothers, Patrick DeBaca and wife, Donna, Alfred (Freddy) Ortiz and wife, Roseanita and Michael Ortiz; three sisters, Prescilla Garcia and husband, Raymond, Lorraine Sanchez and Geraldine (Gerry) Meyer and husband, Michael; five grandchildren, Cecily, Christopher, Brianna, Jeffrey and Alyssa. Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Eloy Ortiz, beloved grandmother, Julia Kavanaugh, an uncle, Abraham Kavanaugh, his grandfathers, Jose Varela and Adolpho Ortiz, grandmother, Maria Ortiz, nephew, Matthew Garrett Meyer and a brother-in-law and best friend, Gilbert (El Solitario) Sanchez. Bobby was born in his beloved Las Vegas, New Mexico where he lived with his parents and Grandma Julia and Uncle Aba. When his parents moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico in the early 1950's, he got to stay and live with his grandma and uncle. While he lived there he attended high school at West Las Vegas, home of the Dons, but graduated from Albuquerque High School in Albuquerque in 1959. While still in high school, he joined the Army National Guard. After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy where he served over 28 years faithful service to his country. He served three tours of Vietnam. He was a photographer in the Navy and continued with this profession until he died. During the course of his life, he served in the Army, Marines and Navy. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1983, after his retirement from the Navy, he moved with his wife and family back to Las Vegas, New Mexico where he established his photography studio, "Roberto's Casa de Photographia" at the old family dwelling on South Pacific. A visitation will be Sunday at St. Charles Catholic Church, 1818 Coal SE from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Geraldine Meyer. Final visitation will be Monday morning from 9:00 a.m until 9:30 a.m. with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. by Father Robert Lussier, SSS. Interment of Mr. Ortiz's Cremains will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. with full Military Honors by the United States Navy. BENTZ -- Marilyn Bentz, 72, a resident of Edgewood, died Sunday, November 20, 2005. She is survived her husband of 49 years, Leon Bentz; daughter, Athena Trujillo and husband, Mike of Edgewood; son, Gregory Bentz and wife, Irene of Albuquerque; daughter, Holli Robinson and husband, Billy of Albuquerque; daughter, Anastasia Thompson and husband, Brian of Gilbert, AZ; son, Edward Bentz and sweetheart, Ava of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Michael, Ian, Brittany, Justin, Spencer, Samantha, Max, Victoria, and Zachary; brother, Frank Menapace and wife, Rosetta; sister, Diane Menapace all of Albuquerque. Marilyn had many talents and interests which included arts, crafts, and her church in which she had a strong faith. But she was most proud of being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeffery Ladmirault, Brian Menapace, and Guy Sears. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, November, 25, 2005, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona SE. Rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m. preceding Mass. A private interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Monday. CUARON -- Patricio A. Cuaron, age 79, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, November 18, 2005. Patricio was born in San Antonio, NM and was resident of Albuquerque. He was a proud Veteran; and a member of the Catholic Church. Patricio is survived by his loving wife, Viola Cuaron of the family home; his children, Gilbert Cuaron and wife, Jeannie, Danny Cuaron, Evelyn Barela and husband, Steve, Nancy Gabaldon and husband, Larry, Annette Gabaldon and husband, Ronald; twelve grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers, Joe Cuaron and wife, Mary Jane, Leo Cuaron and wife, Helen; his sisters, Della Hall and husband, Sandy, and Marilyn Sisneros; other beloved family members; and friends. Patricio will be greatly missed by her loving family. Visitations will be held Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Church of the Ascension. A Rosary will be recited Sunday at 6:00 p.m. also at the Church of the Ascension. Final viewing will be Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.; followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Ascension. GERMAN -- Lawrence Davis German, M.D., FAAC, age 55, died Tuesday, November 16, 2005 following a courageous 3 and a half year battle with pancreatic cancer. Born Thursday, April 28, 1950 in Schenectady, NY to Lawrence Lyle and Phyllis Davis German. Dr. German attended Boston University Medical School, did his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Rochester/Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY and completed his Fellowship in Cardiology and Electrophysiology at Duke University in Durham, NC, where he continued as faculty and head of the Electrophysiology Department at Duke until 1988. After leaving Duke University, Dr. German practiced Cardiology Electrophysiology in Nashville, TN with Page-Campbell Cardiology from 1988 until 1999. In 2000, Dr. German moved to Albuquerque, NM and joined The New Mexico Heart Institute where he practiced until his death. He is survived by his wife, Danise and daughter, Kirsten Macall, age 10, of Albuquerque; daughters, Laura Ellen, age 26 and Julia Lynn, age 24, both of Nashville, TN; step-son, Brannon Edward Burroughs, age 23 of Atlanta, GA; father, Lawrence Lyle German; sister, Ellen Berndt and niece, Elizabeth Berndt of Columbus, OH; brother, Andrew German and sister-in-law, Luann German of Atlanta, GA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Davis German. Dr. German devoted his life to Electrophysiology and healing hearts. The hearts of his family, co-workers, friends and patients that are now broken in his loss, will find solace in knowing that he deeply loved and cared for each one of us and remains with us through his spirit of commitment felt by all. The family received visitors on Friday, November 18, 2005 at the family home of the late Dr. Lawrence German from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A memorial service was held at St. John's Episcopal Cathedral in Albuquerque, NM on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. with a reception following at the Albuquerque Country Club. The family would like to extend deepest gratitude to all the people who assisted in the care of Dr. German during his illness with special mention to Dr. Vijay Agarwal, Dr. Barbara McAneny, Vince Gilbert and the wonderful staff of VistaCare and The New Mexico Heart Institute. ANAYA -- ROY E. Mr. Roy E. Anaya, 64, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on November 17, 2005. Mr. Anaya is survived by his two daughters, Mar-y-sol Anaya and husband, Paul Blea, Lucianna M. Anaya; mother of his children, Connie Trujillo; two sisters, Margie Castillo and Gloria Wood; two brothers, Tommy Chavez and wife, Alice and Gilbert Chavez; step-grandchildren, Carlos, James and Dominic; many other extended family members. Mr. Anaya was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation for Mr. Anaya will be Monday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griego Rd.
