DANIELS -- John W. "Jack" Daniels, 82 passed away on Monday, June 22, 2009 after courageously fighting the complications of a pulmonary embolism. His parents William and Ida Daniels preceded him in death. The family moved to Albuquerque from Vinita, Oklahoma when was only two months old so he considered himself "Albuquerque born and raised". Jack is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 39 years, Caggie; daughters Stephanie and Traci; sons Don, Tom, and Mike and many grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his friend, Jerry Brewster of West Monroe, La. and his golfing buddy, Larry Felicetti, his dear friends Alan, Sal, and Jeff of Santa Fe. He was Honorably Discharged in May l946 from the United States Navy having served on the USS North Carolina. He then spent several years at the University of New Mexico on a baseball scholarship before becoming a General Contractor. When it was too hot for golf he was on the computer looking for yet another collectible car to bring back to Albuquerque for restoration. He loved traveling in their motor home with their little Westie, Bonnie Blue. Reservations had already been made to spend the summer in San Diego when he became ill. Jack and Caggie always stayed in Chula Vista on the bay where you could watch the sailboats dock almost at the motor home door. One Christmas was spent in San Diego and he never tired of telling everyone of the decorated sailboats - a sight no one should miss. Those closest to Jack knew that under the sometimes gruff exterior was a huge and generous spirit. He never turned down a friend in need. Cremation has taken place. As he wished there will be no formal service. Instead he wanted his friends and family to remember him with laughter. He would be so pleased to be remembered through your donations to Shriner's Hospital Burn Unit for Children. Those who wish to express condolences may do so at www.danielsfuneral.com Jack's care has been entrusted to: Daniels Family Funeral Services 7601 Wyoming Blvd, NE Albuquerque, NM 87109 (505) 821-0010
