Ramel -- Doris Anne Ramel, 65, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 20, 1999, with her family by her side. She is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 26 years, Taylor Ramel; daughters, Angela Davis and husband, Jeff of California, Laurie Guy of Albuquerque, and Jene Fawley and husband, Randy of Albuquerque; sons, David Aguilar and wife, Denise Miller of California, Steven Aguilar of California, Jim Ramel of Texas, and Greg Ramel and wife, Carol of New Mexico; well loved grandchildren, Justin, Alyse, Mariah, Josh, Dakota, Zia, Kim, Allison, Amy and husband, R.C., Damion and wife, Sherry; great-granddaughter, Sareena; loving cousins, Harriet Weingart and husband, Harris of Massachusetts, Helen Diston and husband, Jay of Massachusetts, Rochelle Kramer and husband, Bill of Florida, Murry Seronick and wife, Elaine of Massachusetts, Ted Sklaver and wife, Edith of Massachusetts; aunt, Sadie Zall of Massachusetts, as well as the many treasured gifts from God-her friends-you know who you are. Many thanks for the love and prayers and support you gave. She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel; her mother, Bella; her brother, Morris; and her sister, Barbara. Mrs. Ramel was a volunteer at the Albuquerque Pregnancy Center providing spiritual guidance and moral support, a member of Heights Christian Church and very involved with Adat Yeshua, a Navy veteran, and retired from Sandia National Lab after 20 years. Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Heights Christian Church with Pastor Lynn Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Santa Fe National Cemetery with Steve Aguilar, David Aguilar, Jeff Davis, Justin Ferdinandus, Damion Bundrant, Jim Ramel, Greg Ramel serving as casket bearers. Honorary bearers will be Jack Judge, Josh Davis, Tony Kump, Christopher Baca. She will lie in state Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE.

Vaughn -- Le Roy Jim Vaughn II, 22, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on February 20, 1999. Le Roy was the beloved son of Linda Frias and Le Roy Vaughn; he is also survived by his daughter, Marisa Cruz; his sister, Jeanette Frias; seven brothers, Adam Vaughn and Fiance, Denine, Royce Vaughn, Richard Frias and wife, Lorena, Robert Frias and wife, Norma, Frank Frias and wife, Jacqueline, Danny Frias and Fiance, Carmen and Patrick Frias and Fiance, Valarie; maternal grandmother, Dora Herrera and paternal grandmother, Josie Baca; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Le Roy was a member of the catholic church. A Rosary was recited Monday evening, 7:00 p.m., at St. Anne Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning, 9:00 a.m., at St. Anne Catholic Church with final visitation at the church after 8:30 a.m. Msgr. Bazan, Celebrant. Interment will follow at the San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Lawrence Chavez, Abel Rivera, Steve Sandoval, James Tafoya, Jonah Valdez and David Montoya. White -- Sean Matthew White, age 18, of Santa Fe, beloved son of George W. and Naida L. White, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 19, 1999. He was born in Albuquerque on April 29, 1980. Sean attended Santa Fe High School and was a former employee of Midtown Rentals in Santa Fe. He loved playing the guitar and going fishing with his family and friends. Sean is survived by his child, Davina; and her mother, Bianca; his loving parents, George W. and Naida L. White; sister, Mary Lee Miller and husband, Bryan, and their children of Oklahoma City, OK; brother, Gregory B. White and fiance, Kristy Somers of Albuquerque; uncle, John K. White and wife, Helena of Los Lunas; aunts, Ann Stockdill and husband, John of Santa Paula, CA, Melinda Itoh and husband, William of Arlington, VA, Gloria Majoy and husband, Ernie of Fajardo, Puerto Rico; great-aunt, Milagros Zalduondo of Fajardo, Puerto Rico; cousins, Fred A. White and wife, Kara, Patrick White and wife, Sylvia, John K. White Jr., all of Albuquerque and Francie Tibbets and husband, David of Los Lunas; and numerous other cousins and friends. Grapel -- David R. Grapel, 44, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, February 18, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Mary of the family home; mother, Lois Grapel; sisters, Kristina Grapel and Marianne Vaive and husband, Matthew; and brother, John Grapel and wife, Carey. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl H. Grapel. David loved working with his hands and spent his life as a carpenter. Private family service were held. Johnson -- Marlin E. Johnson, 70, a resident of Albuquerque since 1957, died Thursday, February 18, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Flora L. Slinker -- Dr. Richard Earl, 72, a resident of New Mexico for 58 years, died Friday, February 19, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Betty Slinker of the family home; daughters, Barbara Anne League and husband, David of Houston, TX and Tina Slinker of Denton, TX; son, John Michael Slinker and wife, Pamela of McKinleyville, CA; granddaughter, Allison Brenee Ewers and boyfriend, Chris Myers of Tempe, AZ; brother, Leslie Slinker and wife, Ila Mae of New Palestine, Indiana; brothers and sisters-in-law, Christine Antrim and husband, Owen, Trueman Utterback and wife, Reba, and Ed Utterback and wife, Sharron all of Terre Haute, Indiana; nieces, Carol Utterback, Peggy Fraza, Linda Deckert, Becky Bozen, and Anita Kelsey; nephews, Ed, David, and Paul Utterback, and Jeff and Gary Slinker; and ten great-nephews and five great-nieces. Dr. Slinker was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Dessie Patterson Slinker and his four sisters. Throughout his lifetime, he was active in sports, including senior softball and tennis. Dr. Slinker spent 25 years officiating sports. He was a coach at Gallup High School for four years before coming to Albuquerque, where he coached and entered administration for 12 years. For 17 years, he was the Director of Admissions and taught secondary education at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM. Dr. Slinker was a high School principal in Yuma, AZ for three years. He was a member of the National Education Association, New Mexico Education Association, Phi Delta Kappa, the Rotary, Kiwanis Club, Senior Softball Team, and St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Dr. Slinker, a loving husband, father and grandfather, will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Services will be held at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE, Tuesday, February 23, 1999, at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Gerald White officiating. Pallbearers will be J. Yarasheski -- Kyle Paul Yarasheski was born in Colorado Springs and moved to Albuquerque when he was a year old. He attended Mitchell grade school and Hoover Middle School. He was currently a senior at Eldorado High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, and the German National Honor Society. He is survived by his parents, Paul and Gail Yarasheski; his sister, Erin Yarasheski; grandmothers, Ruth Anderson and Julia Yarasheski; godparents, Gene and Katie Valencia; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
