Baca -- Andrea O. Baca, 82, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 1999. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Herman Baca of Albuquerque; sons, Lorenzo Baca and wife, Connie of Belen, NM, Joseph Baca and wife, Josie of Rio Rancho, Raymond R. Baca and wife, Leah of New Delhi, India, Michael S. Baca of Albuquerque, Anthony Baca and wife, Cecilia of Belen, and Jude L. Baca and wife, Susan of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Valerie, Joseph Jr., Elizabeth, Laura, Juanita, Michelle, Angela, Michael, and Adam; ten great-grandchildren; brothers, Juan Orona and wife, Tita of El Cerro, NM and Frank Orona of Rio Rancho; sisters-in-law, Mellie Orona and Susie Baca; brother-in-law, Macedonio Baca; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jude L. Baca Jr.; granddaughter, Melissa A. Baca; sisters, Refugia (Cuca) Silva and Angelina (Angie) Baca; brother, Jose Orona; and parents, Guillermo and Margarita Orona. Mrs. Baca received her education at the University of New Mexico, and taught until her first son was born. She was a girl's basketball coach and loved the Lobo basketball teams. She served as president of the P.T.A., where she had been a keynote speaker to the National P.T.A. Convention. She was also an expert in antiques. She was proud of her six sons, and their many accomplishments. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, and was loved by many. She was a wonderful and dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Rosary will be recited Sunday, February 21, 1999, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE, with Joseph and Josie Baca reciting. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 1:30 p.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1518 Coal Pl. SE, with Father Robert Chabot, Celebrant. Candelaria -- Armando I. Candelaria, 73, a resident of Albuquerque, NM. He was born July 13, 1925 and passed away on February 19, 1999. He is preceded in death by his wife Rosie Garbagni Candelaria. He is survived by son, Andrew Candelaria and wife, Missy; grandchildren, Alexandra and Andrew Candelaria Jr.; sisters, Lena Gonzalez, Priscilla Chavez and husband, Edward, and Raquel Gutierrez; sister-in-law, Mary Valtierra; brothers-in-law, Raymond Garbagni and wife, Marcella and Johnny Garbagni and wife, Dioly; and several nieces, nephews and many friends. Mr. Candelaria was a member of the 2nd Presbyterian Church, also a member of the American Legion Post #13; Musicians Association, in addition Mr. Candelaria was an Allumni of Menaul School of which he was very proud. A Funeral Service will be conducted this morning February 22, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. also in the Chapel of the Alameda Mortuary. Interment to follow at the Las Huertas Cemetery in Placitas, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be Edward Chavez Jr., Leroy Gonzalez, Dale Candelaria, Walter Candelaria, Miguel Valtierra, Manuel Garbagni, and Johnny Garbagni. Fazio -- Rose Marie Fazio, 62, passed away Saturday, February 20, 1999. A former Nun in Louisville, KY she had made Albuquerque her home for over 20 years. She was an active member of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church and regularly sung in the choir. She is survived by her three children, Joseph Anthony Fazio, Marie Elena Ely and husband, Allen and Daniel Thomas Fazio; grandson, Joseph Robert Ely. Also surviving her are her three sisters and one brother, Dee Henry, Ann Riley, Florence Christman and James Coleman. Funeral services are pending. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.

Flores -- Eleanor"Leonor" T. Flores, went"home" to our Lord Jesus Christ, surrounded by her husband and children on February 20, 1999. She was born in Monte Vista, Colorado to Marcelino and Amalia Trujillo. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Louis B. Flores; her five children, Ceci Stott and husband, Pat, Daniel Flores and wife, Alexa, Robert Flores and wife, Linda, Rudy Flores and wife, Lori, Tess Powers and husband, Tom; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Mose Trujillo and wife, Ida of Denver, CO, Joe Trujillo and wife, Riley of Santa Fe, NM, Ted Trujillo and wife, Anna of Alameda, NM; and sisters,"Toni" Martinez of Belen, Marian Teachworth of San Diego, VA, Velma Sorrows and husband, Abie of Little Rock, AR, and Laura Candelaria of Las Cruces, NM. Mrs. Flores was preceded in death by her infant son, Louis Yfrene Flores; grandson, Thomas George Powers; great-granddaughter, Ashley Cecilia Stott; sisters,"Mela" Manuleita Barela, Helen Martinez, Carmen Romero, and Mary Lou Martinez; and brother, Fernando Trujillo. She also expressed her love to her numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Flores worked for GTE Lenkurt for over 12 years where she had many wonderful friends. She belonged to Mercy Missionaries, Ladies of the Altar, Rosary Society, Katherine Hudson's Renew Group of St. Bernadette, World Vision, and the Spanish Choir. She was always involved with children and will be remembered of picking up neighborhood children in her pink Rambler to take them to church. Mrs. Flores adored taking care of her grandchildren. She also expressed her love for her favorite scripture, Psalm 23. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE, with Deacon Al McLane reciting. Gabaldon -- Mr. Frank Gabaldon Jr. a resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his loving family on February 20, 1999. Mr. Gabaldon is the beloved husband of 41 years to Mrs. Erlinda Gabaldon. He is also survived by his sons, Frank Gabaldon III, James A. Gabaldon and Patrick Gabaldon; two beloved grandsons, Anthony J. and Nicholas A. Gabaldon; three sisters, Pricillia Miranda, Martha Baca and Barbara Hazlett; numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and good friends. Mr. Gabaldon served our country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Catholic church and a member of the New Mexico Pipe and Trade Fitters Union, Local 412. Mr. Gabaldon was an avid gardner. Frank will be missed by all that knew him. A Rosary will be recited Monday evening at 7:00 at San Jose De Los Duranes Catholic Church on Los Luceros Rd in Duranes. Visitation will be at the Church after 6:30. Jimmy Rael, reciting. Gallagher -- Mary E. Gallagher, formerly of Albuquerque, died peacefully in her sleep at home in Mukilteo, WA on February 1, 1999 at age 90. Her loving husband, Vincent"Nick" Gallagher predeceased her in 1990. Mary will be dearly remembered by her children, Maryann Foucault, Kathleen Ray, William Gallagher, Loree Morris and husband, Jay, all of Washington state and Patricia Brenn and husband, Rudy of Albuquerque; by 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and by her sister, Dorothy Nilsen of Wisconsin; and brother, George Ellis of California. Gallegos -- Alcario N. Gallegos a life long resident of Albuquerque passed away February 21, 1993 at a local hospital. He was born on September 25, 1941 in Albuquerque and is survived by his wife of 23 years Nancy Herrera and his four children, Irene Anaya, Lizann Trujillo, Daniel Herrera, Benjie Herrera; 10 grandchildren; his five sisters and one brother, Alex Gonzales, Visenta Gonzales, Elena Maestas, Josefita Rivera, Maria Vigil, and Jesus Gallegos. Gilcrease -- Rev. Robert Elijah"Buck" Gilcrease, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1943, died Sunday, February 21, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Reatha Louise of the family home; daughter, Linda Karen Taul and husband, Edd of Mountainair, NM; son, Jerry Robert Gilcrease of Albuquerque; son-in-law, Walter Floyd of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Peggy Jean Floyd, his parents, and two brothers. Since 1981, Mr. Gilcrease was a pastor at the Free Will Baptist Church. He also owned and operated Buck & Jerry's Self Service Station on south Broadway. In his early years, he was a heavy equipment operator in the area. Gould -- Loretta Gould, born March 2, 1931 in Paterson, New Jersey, died Saturday, February 20, 1999. She is survived by her sisters, Evelyn Everett of Albuquerque and Dorothy Tideman and husband, Jack of New Jersey; brother, Robert Gould and wife, Eileen of Connecticut; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. At age five, Loretta and her sister, Dorothy, performed on stage billed as the"Youngest Saxophone Players in the World." She was New Jersey State Roller Skating Champion, created costumes, and judged competitions in the region. Later, she managed a dress shop where she designed and made custom clothing. She moved to Albuquerque in 1984 where many enjoy wearing her original hand-knit"Rheta Sweatas." Loretta enjoyed playing cards with her friends at Terrace Park where she made her home. Picoult -- Charles Picoult, age 91, a resident of McAlester, Oklahoma, died Saturday, February 20, 1999 at a local nursing home. Charles was born on August 31, 1907 in Paris, France to Solomon and Molly Schoenberg Picoult. He married Mariam Dorene Robbins on August 19, 1940 in Jefferson City, Missouri and they lived in Littleton, Colorado for 20 years and Albuquerque, New Mexico for 20 years. They came to McAlester in December of 1995 from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Charles was a self-employed paint contractor and retired when he was in his 80's. He was a member of the Masonic Temple Lodge #6 of Albuquerque. He was an active Shriner in the Ballut Abyad Temple of Albuquerque, New Mexico and a member of the Scottish Rite, Centennial Lodge of Perfection, Denver Consistory. He was of the Jewish faith and was a founding member of Congregation Albert in Albuquerque. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mariam Picoult on August 21, 1998, four brothers, Ben Picoult, Joe Picoult, Jack Picoult and Al Picoult and sister, Rose Schklair. He is survived by daughter, Paulette Picoult of McAlester, Oklahoma; two sons, Gregory Picoult and wife, Karen of Solon, Ohio, Harris Picoult and wife, Denie of Portland, Oregon; brother, Stanley Picoult and wife, Anja of Rockville, Maryland; two sisters, Adel Ross and husband, Jerry of Las Vegas, Nevada, Celia Scileppi of Kernersville, North Carolina; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Ramel -- Doris Anne Ramel, 65, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 20, 1999, with her family by her side. Randall -- Stephen D. Randall, age 38, resident of Albuquerque since 1972, died February 1999. He is survived by his mother, Joan W. Russell; his father, Donald C. Russell; four sisters; one brother; six nieces and two nephews, with whom he enjoyed playing cards and telling stories. Steve was employed by Dieters German Car Specialists. He was an accomplished singer, winning competitions and playing leads during and after high school. He also raced cars; holding office with the Albuquerque Chapter of the Sports Car Club of America. He has won national recognition for Auto-Cross and has been Regional Champion several times. Steve also worked corners at various racing venues and often taught his skills. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE with Rico Saavedra presiding. Rhea -- Elanor Rhea, 91, was a long time resident of Los Alamos. Elanor passed away on Friday, February 19, 1999 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Joe Murdock in Rio Rancho. Elanor was born March 17, 1907 in Roddy, Texas the daughter of James and Lida Milling Miller. Elanor's parents homesteaded in Eastern New Mexico in the early 1900's. She taught first grade in the Los Alamos Public Schools for 36 years, and prior to that had taught fourth grade and preschool for a total of approximately 46 years of teaching. Elanor is survived by her daughter, Mary Murdock of Rio Rancho; one brother, J.M. Miller of MartinView, ARK; one sister, Mary Opal Tate of Broadview, NM; three grandchildren, Jerry Murdock of CA, Andrew Murdock of Los Alamos, Michael Moore of Rio Rancho; five great-grandchildren. Roger -- Charles S. Roger, Jr., 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died Wednesday, February 17, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Lila L. Roger, of the family home; daughter, Patricia M. Roger and husband, Michael Ward of New Orleans, LA; grandsons, peter Roger Ward and Nathaniel Roger Ward; and granddaughter, Amelia Roger Ward, all of New Orleans, LA. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen John Roger and sister, Katherine A. Roger. Mr. Roger served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired in 1969 from the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers after 31 years of service. He was a life member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Romero -- Leroy"Feo" Romero, 53, a resident of Algodones, New Mexico passed away. He is survived by his parents, Sigfredo and Emilia Romero; his son, Daniel Romero and wife, Teresa; grandson, Daniel Romero Jr.; brother, Valois Romero; three sisters, Helen Barreras, Ernestine Romero, and Jeanette Fiero and husband, Louis. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by one brother Louie Romero. Leroy was a Son, brother, an uncle and a Dad. Scott -- Ruby Jean Scott"Miss Ruby", 61, died Sunday, February 21, 1999. She was born on March 10, 1937 to Gene and Ruby May in Forth Worth, Texas. Mrs. Scott is survived by her husband, Chuck Mooney; daughter, Kristen Lynn and husband, Jay Johnston of Albuquerque; sons, Shannon Charles Scott and wife, Lora of Albuquerque, Shawn Cameron Scott and wife, Aida Frances of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Shelby Raeann Johnston, Jacob Waylon Johnston, Shawn Cameron Scott II, and Charles Justin Scott; mother, Ruby May of Albuquerque; sister, April Dawn Morrow of Albuquerque; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Gene May and sister, Patricia Ann"Penny" West. While living in Forth Worth, TX in the 1960's, she was the president and on the Board of Directors of the Casa Amigos Show Theater (Casa Manana Play House). She was also the vice president of the Northwestern Hills Garden Club in Forth Worth. From the mid 60's to the early 70's, she was the president of the Culinary Arts Department of the Junior Women's Club. Her parents founded and operated"Dock Hollidays Hock Shop's" in Albuquerque. Mrs. Scott moved to Albuquerque in early 1976, she owned and operated"Albuquerque Pawn Shop" until the present. She was quite busy as she opened, owned, and operated the"Sundance Saloon and Dance Hall" from 1983 to 1994. To all of her patrons, Mrs. Scott was lovingly known as"Miss Ruby." She was a very prominent business woman, and she loved the pawn shop business and the night life. Mrs. Scott was a social butterfly and loved to be in the spot light. She loved to dance and act. Ruby was a loving boss, friend, daughter, mother, and grandmother. She is loved by many and will be missed by all. Services will be held Wednesday, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE. Slinker -- Dr. Richard Earl, 72, a resident of New Mexico for 58 years, died Friday, February 19, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Betty Slinker of the family home; daughters, Barbara Anne League and husband, David of Houston, TX and Tina Slinker of Denton, TX; son, John Michael Slinker and wife, Pamela of McKinleyville, CA; granddaughter, Allison Brenee Ewers and boyfriend, Chris Myers of Tempe, AZ; brother, Leslie Slinker and wife, Ila Mae of New Palestine, Indiana; brothers and sisters-in-law, Christine Antrim and husband, Owen, Trueman Utterback and wife, Reba, and Ed Utterback and wife, Sharron all of Terre Haute, Indiana; nieces, Carol Utterback, Peggy Fraza, Linda Deckert, Becky Bozen, and Anita Kelsey; nephews, Ed, David, and Paul Utterback, and Jeff and Gary Slinker; and ten great-nephews and five great-nieces. Dr. Slinker was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Dessie Patterson Slinker and his four sisters. Throughout his lifetime, he was active in sports, including senior softball and tennis. Dr. Slinker spent 25 years officiating sports. He was a coach at Gallup High School for four years before coming to Albuquerque, where he coached and entered administration for 12 years. For 17 years, he was the Director of Admissions and taught secondary education at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM. Dr. Slinker was a high School principal in Yuma, AZ for three years. He was a member of the National Education Association, New Mexico Education Association, Phi Delta Kappa, the Rotary, Kiwanis Club, Senior Softball Team, and St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Dr. Slinker, a loving husband, father and grandfather, will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
