Schreiner -- Richard Conrad Schreiner, 70, of Brownsville, Texas, formerly of Brimley, Michigan, died February 24, 1999 at his winter residence in Brownsville, TX. He was born in Traverse City, MI on May 29, 1928 and retired from Sandia Labs in 1983. Richard is survived by his wife, Marcia Ruth Schreiner of Brownsville, TX; two daughters, Terri Schwering of Golden, CO and Mary Buchanan of Albuquerque; two sons, Jon Schreiner of Las Cruces, NM and David Schreiner of Chandler, AZ; and five grandchildren. A memorial celebration will be February 26, 1999, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at the Schreiner residence. Memorial contributions can be made to Omega Hospice, 955 W. Larson -- Lois Jean Larson, 41, Beloved Daughter and Sister, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 16, 1999 in Mesquite, Texas. She was born February 5, 1958 in Albuquerque, NM, graduated from Sandia High School in 1976, and graduated summa cum'laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from ENMU in Portales, NM. She is survived by her great-grandmother, Cora Wisner of Livingston, TN; her grandmother, Bertha Bowers of Kingman, AZ; her parents, Don and Elnora Larson of Albuquerque; her foster sister, Nicole Sessions and husband, Radley of Murray, UT; her brothers, David of Tuscon, AZ, Dennis and Douglas of Albuquerque, and Shawn and wife Jennifer of Las Vegas, NM; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. After college she worked as a medical technician. Music was a great joy to her. She was a comfort and a help to many of her friends. Lois grew up in Faith Chapel where a memorial service will be held on Saturday February 27, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Barrett House, P.O. Box 30843, Albuquerque, NM 87190, or to a charity of your choice.

Otero -- Manuel DA Otero Jr., 87, resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away Monday, February 22, 1999 at 1:05pm. Rosary will be recited at Salazar & Sons, 400 3rd St. SW on Thursday, February 25, 1999 at 7:00pm and Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 412 Stover SW on Friday, February 26, 1999 at 10:00am. Burial will immediately follow at Fairview Cemetery on 700 Yale SE. Pallbearers are Raymond Barela, Agustin Otero, Mark Otero, Christopher Otero and Michael Espinoza and David Sedillo Jr.

Chavez -- David N.J. Chavez, D.P.A., 43, a resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, February 23, 1999. He is survived by his sisters, Marie Wolf of Oakridge, TN, Marcella Chavez of Zuni, NM, Clara Cresto of Gallup, Elvira Lally of Hartsville, SC and Christine Chavez-Navarro of Whittier, CA; brother, John Chavez of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dr. Chavez was preceded in death by his parents, Margarito and Tomasa Chavez; and his sister, Margarita Williams. He was born and reared in Gallup and received his undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico. He then moved to Berkley, CA. While living there, Dr. Chavez earned his Masters and Ph.D. degrees from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. He was an active volunteer and supporter of the United Farm Workers and he loved to write poetry as well. Dr. Chavez was known for his true devotion to his family and his friends. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 9:00 a.m., at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 1800 Martha NE and Indian School Rd., with Father Florian Renaud, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Marie Antoinette Chavez, Christy Gilmore, Buck Lally, Russell Yurcic, Sonia Cresto and Rieann Chavez. Gallegos -- Mr. Nick Gallegos died Sunday in Albuquerque at the age of 54. He is survived by his wife, Luz Belen Gallegos; brothers, Edward Gallegos Jr., and Fred Gallegos and wife, Betty, all of Pueblo, CO; sisters, Beatrice Saiz, Edith Gallegos, Annie Lujan and husband, Tony, Elizabeth Salas and husband, Cipriano; god-daughter, Emily Lujan, all of Albuquerque; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Gallegos will be held on Thursday at the Salazar and Sons Mortuary where the Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Manuel Gallegos, Fredrick Gallegos, David Saiz, Julio Bruciaga, Esequiel Grado, and Jose Olguin. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Salas, Patrick Salas and Robert Gallegos. A Rosary for Mr. Gallegos will be recited on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Salazar and Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.

Nipper -- Randy Nipper, 29, of Los Lunas, died Thursday, February 18, 1999. He is survived by his parents, Frank and Edna Nipper of Albuquerque; sisters, Janet Wassmer of Union, MI, Kelley Barrett of Moriarty, NM, and Cathrine Nipper; brothers, David Bailey of Union, MI, Thomas Nipper of Colorado, and Robert Nipper; and friends, Karen Anzara and Willard Chavez of Los Lunas. Otero -- Manuel DA Otero Jr., 87, resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away Monday, February 22, 1999 at 1:05pm. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Katherine M. Pitts in 1989, a son Eloy J. Otero in 1990 and his wife Flora Castillo in 1991. Also his brother, Eddie Otero, Mountainair, NM who died in 1992. His daughter Margette Webster and husband David of Albuquerque, and his son, former state representative, Alfonso"Al" Otero and wife Evelyn Crespin of Bosque Farms, NM and a step-brother, Diego Baca of Albuquerque, 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews also survive him. Otero was born in Torreon, NM on January 27, 1912. His father Manuel DA Otero Sr. and mother Teresa Sedillo of Torreon, NM, his paternal grandparents Guadalupe Otero and Victoria Lucero and his maternal grandparents Vicente Sedillo and Irene Lopez of Albuquerque's South Barelas. Otero was diagnosed esophagal cancer April 1998 and died at Manorcare-Sandia Nursing Home in Albuquerque. Otero was considered one of the best baseball pitchers for the Torreon Stars in the early 1900's and was fondly known as"Manuelito". He was involved in community politics and later lived with his son, Al Otero. He was a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and retired from the NM Motor Vehicle Dept in Albuquerque. He was a member of the 7th Street Senior Citizens Center who was well liked and made many friends everywhere he went. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family wishes to thank everyone for sharing their loving kindness. Rosary will be recited at Salazar & Sons, 400 3rd St. SW on Thursday, February 25, 1999 at 7:00pm and Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 412 Stover SW on Friday, February 26, 1999 at 10:00am. Williams -- Lena L. Hutchison Williams, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, died Sunday, February 21, 1999. She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Prina of Albuquerque, Ramona Eubank and husband, Bernard of Las Vegas, NV; son, Ray Hutchison and wife, Carol of Las Vegas, NV; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Services will be held Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE, with Rev. Duncan Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Edwards -- Fay A. Edwards, age 90, passed away February 13, 1999 at 2:30 p.m. in Albuquerque. She was born June 10, 1908 in Mitchell, SD. She worked at Caterpillar Trucking in East Peoria during WWII. She was a member of Eastern Star DES #840 in Creve Cour, IL for 53 years and she was a member of the Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, LaVon Klein; sister, Laura Louise Smalley; several nieces and nephews; grandson, Terry Klein and wife, Vicki; granddaughter, Tina Ramalia and husband, Joe, granddaughter, Tauny Fincher and husband, Doyle,; daughter-in-law, Judy Klein, widow of grandson, Robert Klein, all of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren, Rebecca, Traci, Tara, Ryan, Kristina, Clinton, Amber, Melinda, Stacey, Travis and Bobbie Lynn. Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Edwards; son-in-law, Ted L. Klein; grandson, Robert L. Klein; great-grandsons, Robert Keith Klein; both parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Nelson; brothers, David, Herman, Dee, Clarence, Ray; and sister, Lula Mae. Visitation was held Tuesday, February 16, 1999, at Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE. Services were held Wednesday, February 17, 1999 in the Sunset Memorial Park Chapel, Rev. Griego -- Our beloved husband, and devoted father and grandfather, Ernesto, age 71, passed away February 22, 1999. He was a lifelong resident of Carnuel, NM and was born May 15, 1927. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Mario Griego; and a special daughter-in-law, Rita Griego. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bennie Griego; sister, Reyes Gutierrez; five children, Marcella Siller, Frances White, Lori Dykes, Jeannie Brittain and David Griego; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; also many nieces, nephews and friends. He had strong faith in his beliefs as a Jehovah's Witness for 41 years. His love and laughter will never be forgotten. He will be greatly missed. Services will be Wednesday, 7:30 p.m., at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 75 North Zamora Rd., Tijeras, NM.
