GREEN -- HERBERT Age 93, A long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away surrounded by family and friends on Monday Sept. 13, 2011. He is survived by a daughter; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was a retired USAF Veteran of 30 years and a Conoco Phillips Serveyor of 20 years. HANSON -- DOROTHY Q. Age 76, passed away peacefully at home in Albuquerque, NM on September 5, 2011. She was born November 29, 1934 to Calvin and Mary (Telkamp) Quail, in Brookings, SD. She was raised in Brookings where she graduated from Brookings High School and South Dakota State University. Dorothy, a lifelong educator, began her teaching career in Mesa, AZ. During those years, she earned her Master of Education degree from Arizona State University. In 1963, Dorothy moved to Albuquerque, NM where she taught business and physical education in the Albuquerque Public School system until her retirement in 1993. She played bridge and participated in league bowling with her fellow teachers and was active in square dancing. She enjoyed spending time with her parents and family at their cabin in SD. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; niece, Mary Quail. She is survived by her daughter, Jane (David) Scott, of Spokane, WA; grandsons, Dan Scott and Kurtis Scott of Kennewick, WA; brothers, Duane (Harriet) Quail, Goodyear, AZ; Don (Janette) Quail, Sioux Falls, SD; sister, Janice (Alan) Peterson, San Jose, CA; and six nephews. JARAMILLO -- BERNIE O. Age 77, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011. He was born on September 5, 1934 in Cebolla, NM. After retiring from the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 1564 as a Business Representative Bernie was an entrepreneur in many endeavors which he had great sucess due to his talent to understand people and gain their trust. He loved taking his family and especially his grandchildren fishing. He adored and loved his wife. He was preceded in death by his son, Bernard Jaramillo . JOSLIN -- CHARLES LEON 84, of Albuquerque, formerly of Hobbs, passed away Friday, September 16, 2011 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Leon was born in Waxahachie, TX to Clarence Dwight and Eula Mae Joslin. His talent for football and golf led him to Texas Christian University, where he graduated in 1949 with a B.S. in History. Afterward, he served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict, flying B-29 bombers for the Strategic Air Command. He and his first wife, Sara married in 1955. Out of this union, daughter Karen and son Charlie Joslin were born. Sara preceded Leon in death in 1990. Leon worked for K & S Electric for 40 years, after which he spent a great deal of time playing golf. In March of 1992, Leon married Joyce Gilbert. They resided in Hobbs until September, 2009, when they moved to Albuquerque. Leon was a member of Paradise Hills United Methodist Church in Albuquerque. Leon is survived by wife Joyce Joslin of Albuquerque; daughter, Karen Joslin of Hobbs; son Charlie Joslin and wife Kathy of Hobbs; daughter Vicki Miller and husband Alan of Placitas; grandchildren Jennifer Sowers and husband Tom, Andy Lord; great-grandchildren T.J. Sowers and Hazel Lord. The family wishes to thank Academy Heights Assisted Living and Vista Care Hospice staffs for their loving care. Leon will be dearly missed by his family, and they will forever hold his memory in their hearts. Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Hobbs. KESSLER -- CHESTER (CHET) VAUGHN 92, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2011. He was born December 22, 1918 in Tulsa, OK. He is a retired construction inspector for the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Veterans Administration. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge #68 and a charter member of Moose Lodge #1517. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Mary. He is survived by his sons: Russ (wife Sharon) of Soldier, KS; Carl (wife Cheryl) of Albuquerque, NM; Paul (wife Betsy) of Ludlow, MA, and Ernie of Albuquerque, NM; 12 grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren, and one great - great- grandchild. LOPEZ -- EUMELIA Our beloved sister, mother and friend, was born June 29, 1926 in Escobosa, New Mexico to Beneranda Trujillo Lopez and Jose B. Lopez. She passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011 in Albuquerque at the age of 85. Eumelia is survived by her nine children, Sophie Garcia, Mary Puentes and Joe, Phillip Garcia and Gloria, Sylvia Barbosa and Patty, Maria Jo Drury and Robert, Faye Anzures, Jeannette Sanchez, Bernie Abeyta, George Sandoval and Lynn; stepson, Freddy Lucero and Clara; brother-in-law, Solomon Romero; two brothers, Orlando and Julian Lopez; two sisters, Carmen Maria del Carmen Lopez Martin and Jolie Lopez; thirteen grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; as well as other family members and friends. Eumelia will be greatly missed by all who loved and cherished her. A Mass will be celebrated at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church in Old Town on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 5:00 pm. A Graveside Committal Service will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery on Monday, September 19, 2011 at 9:00 am. MCDONALD -- MARY ELIZABETH Died September 13, 2011 at age 94, after a full life. Born in McAlester, Oklahoma, she worked as a young woman in Oklahoma government and then in the federal government and the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. before coming to Albuquerque in 1947 with her husband, G. Corry McDonald. She earned her BA and MFA from UNM, was an accomplished craftswoman who was active in the American Crafts Council, a teacher, an appraiser, and businesswoman. She opened Gallery One at Nob Hill and operated it for many years before selling it. Her husband Corry passed away in 1995. She is survived by Douglas McDonald of Lexington, Massachusetts, Bruce McDonald and Jnanideva Shanmuga, both of Albuquerque, and four grandchildren. Memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 11:00 at the Alumni Memorial Chapel on the UNM Campus.
