Obituary for MCDONALD

MARY ELIZABETH Died September 13, 2011 at age 94, after a full life. Born in McAlester, Oklahoma, she worked as a young woman in Oklahoma government and then in the federal government and the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. before coming to Albuquerque in 1947 with her husband, G. Corry McDonald. She earned her BA and MFA from UNM, was an accomplished craftswoman who was active in the American Crafts Council, a teacher, an appraiser, and businesswoman. She opened Gallery One at Nob Hill and operated it for many years before selling it. Her husband Corry passed away in 1995. She is survived by Douglas McDonald of Lexington, Massachusetts, Bruce McDonald and Jnanideva Shanmuga, both of Albuquerque, and four grandchildren. Memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 11:00 at the Alumni Memorial Chapel on the UNM Campus.
