GUTIERREZ, RAYMOND "BUSTER" age 32 and a lifelong resident of Albuquerque passed away unexpectedly on February 18, 2015 in Albuquerque. He was born on March 13, 1982 to Jose Ramon and Bernadette (Sena) Gutierrez. He enjoyed nice things: Cadillacs, gold, music, anything with bling, and nice vacations. He was, also a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Buster loved his family deeply and was extremely devoted to his children. He is survived by his children, Anthony Gutierrez, Dominic Gutierrez, and Antoinette Gutierrez; stepson, Ray Velasco; godchildren, Markiz Ruiz and Shandell Nieto; fiancee, Christy Vasquez and her children, Michael Carrillo and Kyler Carrillo, and her best friend, Antoinette Lucero; siblings, Joseph Garcia, Jonathan Garcia, Lucia Garcia Sprunk, Antonio Garcia Sprunk, and Ramon Ruiz; special cousins, Lawrence Nieto, Martin Nieto, and Roberta Centena; grandmother, Carole M. LOPEZ, BILLY DON Age 47, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2015. He was born December 25, 1967 raised in Albuquerque and lived here all his life. He graduated from West Mesa in 1986. He is survived by parents Orpha Tachias Lopez and Herman Lopez; sister Debbie Baca; his brothers Joseph Lopez & Johnathan Lopez; nieces JudyAnn Baca and Jennifer Grillo; nephew Steven Baca; and much more extended family. He went to bingo with his mother every month and really enjoyed the time he spent with her. He loved the Cowboys and was always ready and eager to watch a game. Billy had a great sense of humor. Along with a great smile. He was always ready and willing to help out a family member. You were a great son, brother, uncle and friend and you will be missed. Go be with the angels. GARCIA, JOSEPH W. age 92, a resident of Albuquerque, went to be with our Lord, Tuesday, February 17, 2015. Mr. Garcia is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Rosemary; children, Steven J. Garcia and wife, Anita, Margaret Lynn Garcia and husband, Danny Lucero, Michael Gary Garcia and wife, Rita Ann, Michelle Garcia and husband, Earl Holmes; fifteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Garcia was a member of the Catholic Church, a member of the AFL-CIO Local 391 and a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, 1st Marine Division on Guadalcanal. The first offensive against the Japanese. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, two Bronze Stars, the Presidential unit citation with Ribbon Bar was awarded to the first Marine Division for the Capture and Defense of Guadalcanal in World War II. The secretary of the Navy characterized this offensive: "the officers and enlisted men of the First Marine Division demonstrated outstanding gallantry. The courage and determination displayed were of an inspiring order." Semper Fi Mac. MOYA, JACOBO "JACK" 1924-2015 Jacobo "Jack" Moya, age 91, a resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Jack graduated from Belen Schools and was a graduate from Harvard University. He was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus in Albuquerque, the Knights of Columbus and also very active in church and the community. Jack worked for the Belen Railroad and also for the America Center for International Labor Solidarity/ ALFCIO for many years of outstanding service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Henita Moya; daughter, Susan Moya Baca; grandsons, Ivan Torres and Daniel Torres; wife, Lee Moya; son-in-law, Pete Stracener; and brothers and sisters. Jack is survived by his daughters, Maryann Stracener, Frances Castillo and husband, Dimas, Helen Chavez and husband, Johnny; sons, Alex Romero and Albert Romero; sisters, Nancy Chavez and husband, Simon, Mary Rose Archuleta and husband, Joe; brothers, Rubin Moya and wife, Ester; 22 grandchildren; 34 great- grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren. HILLERMAN, MARIE ELIZABETH Marie Elizabeth Hillerman, 87, of Albuquerque's Los Ranchos, died peacefully on February 12, 2015 of an infection. She was born in Shawnee, OK on Feb. 27, 1927, the second of four children. She was always an avid reader and a life-long learner. Marie had the honor of introducing Eleanor Roosevelt when the former first lady came to visit her high school. Marie graduated from the University of Oklahoma where she majored in microbiology and education. She met the love of her life for more than 60 years, Tony Hillerman, at a Newman Center dance and became a dedicated football and basketball fan (Go Sooners and Lobos!). Marie and Tony married on Aug. 16, 1948 and lived in several small towns in Texas and Oklahoma where she worked as a junior high teacher. In 1953, Tony's career as a journalist brought them and their baby Anne to Santa Fe, NM. In Santa Fe they added to their family with the adoption of Jan, Tony Jr., Monica and Steve. In addition to raising five children, Marie was active in her Catholic parish, teaching CCD classes and preparing children for Confirmation. She also worked as a freelance meteorologist and substitute teacher and enjoyed life as a bridge player, passionate gardener and bird watcher. The Hillerman family moved to Albuquerque in 1963 when Tony went to work for the University of New Mexico. In Albuquerque, the adoption of Daniel made the family complete. Marie continued her life-long devotion to her Catholic faith, becoming an active member of Our Lady of the Annunciation parish. When the children left home, Marie travelled with Tony on book tours visiting France, Italy and Scandinavia. She loved her work as a volunteer with the Marianites bringing Holy Communion to the sick and elderly. She served for many years on the board of the Catholic Foundation helping people of all faiths. Among her many other interests were helping organizations which worked to improve education and living conditions on the Navajo Reservation, programs for battered families and to help those released from prison rebuild their lives. She was a Master Gardener and enjoyed answering questions about plants and pests through the Albuquerque Garden Center. Marie is survived by her family: daughter Anne Hillerman, husband Don Strel and grandson Brandon Strel and step grandsons Sean Strel and Kevin Strel and partner Gisele Delony, step-granddaughter Carrie Reinecke, husband Craig and great-grandsons Skyler and Taran. She is also surviving by her daughter Jan Grado, husband Rudy and grandson lan Grado, wife Stephanie and great-granddaughters Gianna and Zia; grandson Matthew Grado and fiance Brielle Wozny; granddaughter Sarah Tuico and her husband J R. Also surviving her is son Tony Hillerman, Jr. and his wife Lori. Also surviving her is daughter Monica Atwell, husband Doug and granddaughter Dawn Atwell, partner Jenny Galindo and great-grandson Jayden T. Galindo, granddaughter Cassandra Atwell and wife Tammy Hiland and great granddaughter Ashlynn T. Hiland; daughter Echo Atwell and fiance Jaime Galvan and great-grandchildren Ryley, Jersey, Phoenix and Nevada Galvan; granddaughter Toni Martinez, husband Mando and great-grandchildren Sage and Bensen Martinez. She is also survived by her son Steven August Hillerman and her son Daniel Bernard Hillerman and granddaughter Candyce Hillerman and grandson Daniel Christopher Hillerman and wife Terryn. She is also survived by a sister, Teresa Sifford and her husband, Dewey, and a brother-in-law, Loren Luschen, and her sister-in-law Margaret Mary Chambers and many nieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Joseph and Anna Margreta (Schepers) Unzner; her husband of 60 years, author Tony Hillerman, and by her brother, Charles Francis Unzner and a sister, Gesina Joan Clarkson Luschen. A Rosary service will be held at FRENCH-Wyoming, 7121 Wyoming NE on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015 at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015 at Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish, 2621 Vermont Street NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110 followed by a reception hosted by the family from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown, 2600 Louisiana Blvd NE, Albuquerque. HILLERMAN, MARIE ELIZABETH Marie Elizabeth Hillerman, 87, of Albuquerque's Los Ranchos, died peacefully on February 12, 2015 of an infection. BRANDT, WILMA Age 81, beloved mother and grandmother, was called to her eternal resting place on February 12, 2015. She was born to George and Ursula Tegethoff on February 17, 1933 in Morrowville, KS. She is survived by her children Barbara Brandt of Albuquerque, Jackie Roeder and husband, Gary, of Boise, ID, Christine Brandt of Old Greenwich, CT, Michael Brandt and fiance. Jorie, of Albuquerque, and Lt. Col. Steven Brandt, USAF (Retired) and wife, Lisa, of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren Alex, Steven, Derek, Rachel, Stirling, Casey, GraceAnn, Faith, Mihret, and Shepherd. Wilma is also survived by her brother Robert of Morrowville, KS; her brother Harold and wife, Linda, of Hutchinson, KS. and nieces and nephews. She lived a life of family, sacrifice and dedication to her faith. She was honored with the St. Francis of Assisi Award in 2010 for her service and love for the Catholic Church.
