SEGURA, MANUEL "GENO" Age 55, born in Albuquerque on June 30, 1958 passed away on October 8, 2013. He was preceded in death by his mother, Connie Segura. He is survived by his daughter Marlene Reynolds; son Christopher Segura and wife Tiffany; grandchildren Clinton and Katie Ann Reynolds and Christopher and Zachary Segura; father, Cruz Segura; brothers, Clyde, Rudy, Ronald and wife Diane, Donald, Steven, John and Maryann; sisters, Maria "Sister" Segura, Henrietta "Soupy" and husband Steve Montoya, Grace and husband Daniel Rivera; girlfriend, Evette Lucero; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Manuel was a loving father and grandfather. He was also an excellent drummer. Services will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Direct Services, 2919 4th St.

RIVERA, ANGELINA Loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend went home to be with our Lord and Savior Monday, June 3, 2013 at the age of 85. She was born in Magdalena, New Mexico to Ismael and Fransica. Angelina loved singing and going to the casino. She adored her family and loved spending time with them. She is preceded in death by her sons Danny Rivera, Robert "Jimmy" Rivera and husband George Rivera, Sr. Angelina is survived by children Helen Romero and husband Tony, George Rivera and wife Michele, Gloria Marquez and husband Tony, Joann Romero and husband Edward and Isabel Barela and husband Joe; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends. Angelina will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 412 Stover Ave SW, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am followed by a reciting of the Rosary at 10:00 am. CASADOS -- DON R. JR. Passed away on February 26, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Easter Sunday, April 20, 1924 on the family ranch in Mora, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don R. Casados, Sr. and Candelaria Rudolph Casados; his sister Caroline Casados Rivera; his son Mark Anthony Casados; sister-in-law Manuela Rivera Dossett; nephews Patrick Maynez and Douglas Dossett. Don is survived by Katherine, his loving wife of 65 years; his son Dennis and wife Teresa; four grandchildren, Melissa Casados (John Gutierrez), Darren Casados (Jolene), Marla Pettingill (Marty) and Brandon Casados; eight great-grandchildren, Arlene, Steven, Marissa, Darren, Jr., Bianca, Alyssa, Darin, and Darien. Don is also survived by in-laws Ruth S. Ortiz, Oscar and Julietta Maynez, Rudy and Margaret Garcia and nephews and nieces. Don attended the Sisters of Loretto Convent in Mora, New Mexico for his primary schooling. The family moved to Santa Fe in the early 1930s and he was enrolled at St. Michael's College, graduating with the class of 1941. Don was an honor student, class leader and star football player, winner of several elocution contests, spelling bees, and recipient of many medals and certificates. In 1937 he was granted a four year academic scholarship to St. Michael's College. In January 1943 Don was drafted into the United States Army where he participated in the Battle of the Bulge under the leadership of General George S. Patton's 3rd Army, 312th Engineer Battalion, 87th Infantry Division, Golden Acorn Company. He participated in campaigns in the freezing cold dense forests of the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from Highlands in 1949. He earned State of New Mexico Department of Education Administrative and Secondary Certificates and also held the Guidance Counselor Certificate. Don led a long and distinguished career as a New Mexico educator. His professional experience included 37 years of devoted service to the Santa Fe Public Schools beginning in 1949 spanning 5 decades and retiring in 1986. He served as Director of Testing for the Santa Fe Public Schools, taught Spanish and New Mexico History at Harvey Junior High School, Civics at B.F. Young Junior High School, and U.S. History at Santa Fe High School. Don also served as Guidance Counselor and Assistant Principal at Santa Fe High School. He was named Principal of Santa Fe Mid-High School in 1965 and served as sole principal for 11 years. He became Associate Principal and summer school Principal at Santa Fe High School in 1976 and in 1982 he was named Principal of Santa Fe High School, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the New Mexico Education Association, National Education Association, Psi Chi National Honorary Society in Psychology, Pi Gamma Mu National Social Science Honor Society, Charter Member and Associate of the New Mexico State Psychological Association, Associate Member of the American Psychological Association, 87th Infantry Division Association Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge, American Legion Post 1, and lifetime member of the Elks Lodge #460. He was a charter member and organizer of the Santa Fe Babe Ruth baseball league and coached little league baseball. He was a charter member of the Disabled World War II Veteran Memorial in Washington, D.C. In 1986 an award was established in his name to be given each year to the Outstanding Teacher at Santa Fe High School. In 1992 he was named Person of the Year by the Coronado Kiwanis Club. Don never sought personal recognition but he earned the respect of his colleagues and the influence he instilled in so many of his students will be long and everlasting. He was praised for his leadership, work ethic, thoroughness, commitment and steadfast dedication to excellence. He was the ultimate professional and not one to rest on laurels or fanfare. Don's approach at handling not just students, but staff, parents and the community was always professional and above the call of duty. As an educator for 37 years Don touched many lives and molded a genuine foundation for the youth of Santa Fe. His basic philosophy toward his student body and faculty was "live and let live, work and let work, take one day at a time, don't dwell on past mistakes and don't worry about future ones". He took pride in his students upon graduation knowing they left with confidence and pride toward future goals and challenges. Don's legacy will be one of quiet faith and devotion and his fond expressions to his commitment to God, family and country. The family expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses and all staff at St. Vincent Hospital and Presbyterian Hospice Services for their loving care during his final days. Visitation will take place at McGee Chapel on Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2012 at St. Francis Cathedral. Burial services will be held at 9:45 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Brandon Casados, Darren Casados, Darren Casados, Jr., John Gutierrez, Bobby Martinez, and Jimmy Sosaya. RIVERA -- -Raymond N., age 64 of Albuquerque, passed away on May 18, 2011. Born August 30, 1946 in Auburn, California, the family later moved to Ogden, Utah, and 1958 they settled in Sacramento, CA where he graduated from Grant Union High School in 1964. Raymond, a Vietnam Veteran served in the U.S. Navy, SK2. He was a logger in Southeastern Alaska in the early 1970's, and later owned his own landscape business in Sacramento, until he discovered reflexology in 1991, which complimented his true passion for helping others. Raymond moved to Albuquerque in 1997 where he continued to work as a master reflexologist. He was known for his great sense of humor, storytelling abilities, and a generous heart-he was everyone's favorite. Raymond had a beautiful singing voice, loved Mariachi music, and enjoyed going to the movies. He met with his buddies every morning for coffee at Dunkin Donuts. Raymond will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Julia Rivera, and brothers Phillip and David. Raymond is survived by his son Joseph; brothers Joe of Albuquerque, Frank (Maxine) of Amarillo, Texas, Rudy of Sacramento, CA, and Roy of Las Vegas, Nevada; and sisters: Hope Rivera (Sonny) of Albuquerque, and Mary Hernandez (Joe), Julie Jimenez, Lynda Rivera, and Corina Rivera who all reside in Sacramento, California; numerous nephews and nieces, two grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. The light of his life was his granddaughter Tina Blaskey (Jimmy) of Oak Grove, Missouri. Cremation has taken place. Raymond's remains will be laid to rest on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at The Santa Fe National Cemetery at 9:45 a.m. A celebration of life will take place following interment from 2:00 - 6:00 pm at 1851 Calle Los Vecinos NW, Albuquerque 87107. GONZALES -- Yvonne "Bonnie" T. Gonzales, age 52, a resident of Socorro, NM, passed away on Friday, March 18. She loved singing, dancing, watching her favorite television shows and playing horseshoes with her husband Michael. Bonnie always looked forward to the weekend with her daughter Dani, and enjoyed watching her daughters and her husband play softball. Bonnie would brighten up everyone's heart especially in the morning. "My mother was a very wonderful person and she had that special laugh that everyone loved. She used to have fun with her friends and believe me she made it worth it to have fun." She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudy and Sara Padilla Rivera; four brothers, Gilbert, Rollie, Tony and Rudy Rivera Jr. and sister, Mary Lou Hubern. Yvonne is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Michael Gonzales; five children, Valentino Lopez and wife, Michelle Castillo, Leslie Chavez and husband, Daniel, Katherine Gonzales and husband, Nago, Danielle Gonzales and wife, Crystal Valenzuela and Elizabeth Gonzales and husband, Elvis Chavez; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild to be; two sisters, Margaret Lujan and Kathy Rivera, father and mother-in-law, Marcos and Lou Gonzales; five sisters-in-law and eight brothers-in-law. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. GARCIA -- Frank E. Garcia Age 80, of Santa Fe, New Mexico passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2011. He is survived by his loving wife, of 56 years, Lonicia (Lonnie) Jimenez Garcia; and by many nieces and nephews, namely: Bianca Garcia Benson, Samantha Garcia, Bunni Garcia, Baron Bershaw (all of California), and Sammy Garcia, Brandy Garcia, Jesus Rodriguez Garcia. Also, Roberto Jimenez, Ernesto Jimenez, Rosina Rodriguez, Rudy C de Baca, Viola Varela, Simon C de Baca, Thomas C de Baca, Daniel C de Baca, Edwina Chapman, Jerry Honnell, Dolorene Jorgensen, Anita Mulhern; and many other nieces, nephews and relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Garcia; and mother Victoriana Garcia; his brother, Sam Garcia; and by his nephew, Victor Jimenez. Frank was born in La Villita, New Mexico on May 30, 1930. He was a graduate of Espanola High School and of the College of Santa Fe. He served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952. He was employed with the New Mexico Adult Probation and Parole Department from 1963 until his Retirement in 1983.
