STEADMAN, FREDIE LEE Faced with a terminal illness, Fredie Lee Steadman, age 68, of Albuquerque, NM, was quietly released into eternity on Monday, May 6, 2013. A graduate of Albuquerque High School and Air Force veteran, Fredie worked as an electrician. His parents, Fred and Goldie Steadman, and first wife, Emma (Steadman) Turk preceded him in death. Fredie Lee Steadman is survived by his spouse, Catherine Steadman of Albuquerque, NM; four children: Tona Marie Steadman of Fayetteville, NC, Craig Steadman of Albuquerque, NM, Fredric Robert Lee Steadman of Denver, CO and Ryan Michael Steadman of Albuquerque, NM; two siblings and their spouses, Richard (Josephine) Steadman and Victoria (Bradley) Crosby of Albuquerque, NM; companion and care-giver, Linda Thompson, of Denver, CO; fifteen grandchildren; eleven great- grandchildren; and a very large and loving extended family. We joyfully release Fredie Lee into the arms of Jesus, anticipating the day when we will rejoice as one in His Eternal Presence. Memorial Service will be held, Monday, May 20, 2013, 10:00 AM at Shiloh Baptist Church, 608 Avenida Cesar Chavez SE.

LEYBA, RUDY MARTIN age 46, born October 5, 1966 and a resident of Albuquerque, NM went with the Lord on Thursday, November 1, 2012. Rudy is survived by his mother, Emma Leyba; daughter, Caitlyn Leyba; nephews, Ronny and Roger Crosby, and aunt, Helen A. Gomez. Rudy was preceded in death by his father, Rodolfo Leyba; sister, Yolanda Crosby; brother, Gilbert Leyba; and nephew, Ricky Crosby. We will always think of Rudy, we love him and miss him deeply. MORRIS -- FLORENCE EVA (F. EVA) Age 87, a current resident of Albuquerque, NM. She was the first New Year's baby born at St. Vincent's Hospital in Santa Fe, NM on January 1, 1925 at 12:01 a.m. to Carl Lynn Phillips and Theodora (Doris) Mente Phillips and passed away from natural causes on August 17, 2012. Eva spent most of her life in Terrero, Pecos and Santa Fe, NM. During her career she held positions with the Bank of Santa Fe, Bankers Association of NM, the State of NM, night auditor at The La Fonda Hotel and owning her pride and joy of many years, the "La Paz" Restaurant in Pecos which her mother started in the early 1960's as Phillips Cafe and Court. Her customers tell us they still miss her "La Paz" burgers. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sons Arthur Gillis III (aka Tres Phillips) and James Gary Morris; brothers Herman Phillips, Carl Phillips, John (Johnny) Phillips and Charles (Bobby) Phillips; husbands Arthur Gillis II and Glenn Morris; son-in-law Jim Pendergrass; and other family members over the years. She is survived by her daughters Linda Pendergrass and Glynnette Hale; grandsons Arthur Gillis IV (Quatro); Nathan Hale, PFC, US Army and wife Alexandra; granddaughters Elizabeth Tapia and husband Jerald; Lt. Commander Jamie Embry, USCG and husband Daniel, and Erin Crosby and husband James; great-grandchildren Ashley Tapia, Michaela Tapia, Asher Embry, Paige Embry, Ravyn McCarty, Kyle Crosby and Patrick Hale; cousins Veda Mason of CA and Michael Phillips of AR; numerous other family members and good friends. We would like to give our special thanks to all of her "Bingo Buddies" and friends at Sandia Casino and give extra special thanks to all of her caregivers over the past few years, but especially those of recent from Mi Via and Heritage Healthcare and Hospice Inc. CROSBY -- ROBERT W. a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed at age of 70 on June 3, 2012. Robert served in the U.S. Marine Corp for four years after his graduation from high school. Following his service with the Marine Corp, Robert entered the Albuquerque Police Force and served as an Officer while pursuing his degree in Criminology. Later in his career, Robert was promoted to Sergeant and served as a Detective in the Armed Robbery Division until his retirement in June, 1988. During his tenure with the Albuquerque Police Department, Robert implemented a pilot program known as the Field Services Impact Team. Robert was primarily responsible for writing the guidelines for the unit and placing the team into operation. The concept was implemented in three service areas and was highly successful in the areas of felony arrests, case clearances, investigations and court prosecutions. By his superiors, Robert was considered to be the best in his field and a valuable asset to the police department. After his retirement from the Albuquerque Police Department, Robert worked for the Albuquerque Public School System and implemented the Campus Security Aid Program which provides on site protection for faculty and students. Robert was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He is survived by his loving family - Belinda, his wife of 48 years; his son Bryan and daughter-in-law Stephanie of Molino, Florida; his daughter Carleen; and grandchildren Tyler, Samantha and Shelbi of Albuquerque. His passing is deeply mourned by his extended family of many nieces and nephews and the many friends he made during his lifetime. A Rosary will be recited prior to a Mass Celebration on June 8, at 11:00 AM at the Shrine of St.Bernadette Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial - 924 Menaul Blvd. N.E. Viewing will be held prior to the Rosary and Mass Service at the French Mortuary located at 110500 Lomas Blvd. N.E. between 9AM and 10AM.
