CORDOVA, BARBARA ANNE Our beloved mother, grandmother and a longtime resident of Bernalillo, New Mexico, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015 with her family by her side. She was born January 27, 1945 in Washington, DC to Robert and Mae Arline Somers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Cordova; daughter, LouAnne Blackford. She is survived by her children, Nancy Meredith of Gypsum, CO, Bobbie Blackford of Flagstaff, AZ, Raymond Perez and girlfriend Heather of Rio Rancho, NM; Lina Alvarez and husband John of Rio Rancho, NM, 11 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; brother, Mike Somers of Northridge, CA; sister, Patricia Buell from Grants Pass, OR. GALLEGOS, PATRICK "PAT" Age 73, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 25, 2015, while surrounded by his loving family. He was a resident of Albuquerque, NM, formerly of Dilia, NM. He was a truck owner and driver for 45 years. Pat's hobbies and interests included attending car shows, restoring his cars; and spending time with his family at the lake, camping, boating, water skiing, and jet skiing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Flora Gallegos; brothers, Manuel and Henry Gallegos; sister, Lucy Montoya; and grandson, Adam Gallegos. Pat is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marilyn Gallegos; his son, Chris Gallegos and wife Teena; daughter, Donna Gallegos; his grandchildren, Josh, Patrick, Felicia, and Jacqueline Gallegos; great-grandchildren, Adam, Ava, Ryan and Lucas; and other numerous relatives and friends. Pat will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose hearts he touched. A Rosary will be recited Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th St., NW. Service of Christian Burial will be Friday at 9:00 a.m. also at the Church. Interment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park. GUTIERREZ, ANGELICA S. "ANGIE" Age 79, a resident of Albuquerque was taken to the Lord on January 24, 2015 with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents Pedro and Rufina Sais of Tome, NM. Angie is survived by her husband Juan A. Gutierrez; children Hope Lopez (Albert), Ida Pohl (Mark), Shirley Juarez (Paul), John Gutierrez, James Gutierrez (Monica) and Frances Olguin (Lawrence); fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her only sister Mary D. Cordova. Angie was born on June 20, 1935 in Tome, New Mexico. She married Juan Gutierrez on April 13, 1958 and moved to Barstow, California shortly after where she lived and had her six children. In 1979, she returned to New Mexico where she resided until her passing. All of the services will be held at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, 5415 Fortuna Road NW on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 beginning with a Viewing at 5:00 PM and a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM. SANCHEZ, THEODORITA R. "TITA" Age 83, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015 in Rio Rancho, NM with her family by her side. She was born in La Joya, NM on July 30, 1931, to Miguel and Gertruditas Romero Rivera. Tita grew up in a large family and was a woman of great faith. She loved to bake and do crafts and she enjoyed flowers and plants. She had lots of apricot trees and every year she made apricot pies and jams and always sent her family home with plenty. She married Jose H. Sanchez on June 17, 1946. Tita was very family oriented and loved working with seniors and children. She worked at the Good Samaritan Society for 8 years and then worked for the public schools as a "grandparent" to the kids. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughters, Mary Ann Sowells and Elaine Moore; granddaughter, Sandi Rae Padilla; her sisters, Marianna Rivera, Enedina Cordova and husband, Frank, Desideria Gonzales and husband, Frank, and Maria Costa and husband, Richard; brothers, Daniel Rivera, Benjamin Rivera, Jose A. Rivera, Jose L. Rivera and wife, Cecilia. Tita is survived by her children, Margaret Padilla and husband, Seles, Pete Sanchez and wife, Carol, Josi Holt and husband, Paul, Christy Barbie and husband O'Jay, and Kathleen Pyke and husband, Andy; 23 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great- great-grandchildren; her sister-in-laws, Cindy Rivera, Mary Rivera and Evelyn Rivera. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 11:00 am at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro with the Mass of Resurrection to be celebrated at 11:30 am with Father Andrew Pavlak as Celebrant. OTERO, AVILIO G. "LEFTY" 1931-2015 Avilio G. "Lefty" Otero, age 83, a resident of Los Lunas, NM passed away in the early morning on Saturday, January 17, 2015 with his family at his side. His family lovingly called him "Tata". Avilio proudly served in the United States Navy, was a professional boxer, and professional baseball player. In 2002, he was nominated for Citizen of the Year by the Valencia County News-Bulletin. He was an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman, but most of all a godly man. He was the owner of "Lefty's Electric" for more than 30 years and continued to run several businesses with his wife. He was a member of Grace Fellowship. Avilio's final words were to his wife, "I love you." He was preceded in death by his son, Marvin Otero; parents, Manuel and Josefita Moya Otero; his in-laws, Arturo and Vivianita Cordova; brothers, Alferes and Flavio; several in-laws including his special sister-in-law and friend, Ruth Padilla; and brother-in-law, Vivian Cordova. Avilio is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Edna Otero; children, Teresa and husband, Michael Ogas, Marty and wife, Valerie Otero, and Camille and husband, Leroy Chavez. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lyndsi and husband, Jake Alderete, Jason and wife, Vanessa Chavez, Miguel and wife, Abigail Ogas, Isaiah Otero, Talysa Ogas, Zachary Otero, Taylor Otero, and Dalton Otero; four great- grandchildren, Eliyah, Eliana and Israel Alderete, and Judah Chavez; brothers, Johnny and wife, Maggie Otero, and Nino and wife, Lorance Otero; loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and many long-time friends. KEYOHARA, MAURICE Maurice Keyohara, a resident of Moriarty, died on January 1st, 2015, eight days short of his 92nd birthday. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Sallylou; sister Margaret and husband, Mutt of Bernalillo; children Strail and wife, Jackie of Albuquerque; Price and wife, Connie of Moriarty; Peggy of Edgewood; Beth and husband, Joe of Las Vegas, NV; Lillian and husband, Ronnie of Las Vegas, NV; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter, Molly; grandson, Maurice Ray; granddaughter, Wendy; and grandson, James. Maurice was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. As a Japanese-American WWII veteran, he served in the Coast Guard aboard the USS Calloway and while he was in port he served as head of an armory and was "Assistant Captain of the Port." A God-fearing man, Maurice lived his life with love and integrity and made everyone feel special. He was honest, kind, generous, loving and always supportive. He was the best cowboy there ever was and his work ethic unparalleled - he worked right up until the day he died. He will be dearly missed. Mr. Cordova is survived by his sisters, Marylou Garcia and husband, Anthony, Vidala Perea and husband, Alex; brother, Herman Cordova; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Cordova was preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla. Crenice was a retired Paramedic/Firefighter for Bernalillo County.
