KEYOHARA, MAURICE Maurice Keyohara, a resident of Moriarty, died on January 1st, 2015, eight days short of his 92nd birthday. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Sallylou; sister Margaret and husband, Mutt of Bernalillo; children Strail and wife, Jackie of Albuquerque; Price and wife, Connie of Moriarty; Peggy of Edgewood; Beth and husband, Joe of Las Vegas, NV; Lillian and husband, Ronnie of Las Vegas, NV; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter, Molly; grandson, Maurice Ray; granddaughter, Wendy; and grandson, James. Maurice was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. As a Japanese-American WWII veteran, he served in the Coast Guard aboard the USS Calloway and while he was in port he served as head of an armory and was "Assistant Captain of the Port." A God-fearing man, Maurice lived his life with love and integrity and made everyone feel special. He was honest, kind, generous, loving and always supportive. He was the best cowboy there ever was and his work ethic unparalleled - he worked right up until the day he died. He will be dearly missed. A Visitation will be held at FRENCH, 1111 University Blvd. NE on January 4, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m. and Funeral Services will be held at the same location on January 5th at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Gale Holt, with Internment at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Kinjiro Keyohara, Ben Keyohara, Nathaniel Keyohara, Charles Cordova, Thomas Garcia, and Richard Danner. Honorary pallbearers will be Mutt Eldridge and Pete Cosper.
