GUTIERREZ -- Johnny F. Gutierrez, born in Albuquerque, NM on June 22, 1960, longtime resident of Chilili, NM passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2009. He is survived by his father, Antonio E. Gutierrez; mother, Louisa C. Gutierrez; five brothers, Eloy and his wife, Jean, Tommy and his wife, Emma, Gabriel, Michael and his wife, Darlene, Martin and his wife, Patty; and one sister, Theresa, and husband, James; nine nephews; seven nieces; six great-nephews; and ten great-nieces. Services will be held in the Chilili Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be recited on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Chilili Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Roybal, Isaac Gutierrez, Mathew Gutierrez, Martin Gutierrez Jr., Robert Garcia, and Ruben Barreras. Honorary Pallbearers will be Antonio Gutierrez and Richard Wise. FEDERICI -- William R. Federici, Born on July 15, 1917, passed away in Santa Fe on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at the age of 92. Bill was born in Cimarron, New Mexico, the son of Narcisco and Divina Federici, who immigrated to the United States from Spezia, Italy, in 1903. He attended elementary schools in Cimarron and Colfax, NM and graduated from high school in Dawson, NM in 1934. He graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1939 and from the University of Colorado Law School in 1941. Bill served as an assistant attorney general of New Mexico in 1941. He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific from 1942-1946 during World War II. On VE Day, May 8, 1945 he married Elsie Marie Frizell at St. Joseph Catholic Church Rectory in Springer, NM. Bill and Elsie lived in Washington, D.C. while he served as an aide to Congressman A.M. Fernandez. In 1946 he returned to the New Mexico Attorney General's office, then in 1948 joined the law firm of Seth and Montgomery in Santa Fe and became a partner shortly thereafter. Bill served on the Supreme Court of New Mexico from 1977 1987, the last two years as Chief Justice. He then returned to the Montgomery firm in the capacity "Of Counsel." In 2005 he became Counsel Emeritus. Bill is a member of the New Mexico State Bar (inactive). He served as President of the State Bar, 1970-1971, and was a member of the New Mexico State Bar Commission. He is a Fellow of the American College of Probate Counsel (1965). Some of his awards include the University of Colorado Law School Alumni Award for Distinguished Service in the Judiciary (1991); the State Bar of New Mexico Distinguished Bar Service Award (1991); the State Bar of New Mexico Professionalism Award (1996); State Bar of New Mexico Century of Achievement Award (1999); the National Italian American Bar Association Achievement Award (2000); the American Inns of Court Professionalism Award for the US Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit (2000); and the UNM Zia award (2002). Bill prided himself on making time to help others and providing pro-bono work to those in need. In his personal life, Bill enjoyed the outdoors, which included family trips to Yellowstone and Red River, fishing, hunting, boating and traveling both in the U.S. and abroad. He enjoyed family get-togethers, singing in harmony with his sisters and eating good food. In his later years he enjoyed his poker groups, horse racing and the casinos. Bill is survived by his sister, Ann Federici-Martin; children: Linda Stevens, Richard Federici, Larry Federici (Lora), and Gina Federici (Buck Rackley); grandchildren: Eric Federici and Staci Stevens (David Valentino); great-granddaughter, Carmen Jaye Valentino; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Elsie; parents; brother Fred; sisters Benezia and Emma and her husband Lento. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Chapol in Santa Fe with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Celebration will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi at 12:00 noon. JOHNSON -- Robert M. Johnson, 73, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marlene; son, Dean Johnson and wife, Susan; daughter, Dawn Mirabal and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Cheyenne Johnson, and Aspen, Kona, and Masa Mirabal; and numerous relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin Johnson and Margaret Mondragon. Robert served in the US Air Force, was employed by Litton Industries in CA, and then went to work for AIPC and the State of NM. He was a tribal member of Taos Pueblo. Robert was a loving and devoted husband and father. His granddaughters were the light of his life. He will be truly missed. She was born October 27, 1905 in Palo Del Colle, Bari, Italy. Grandma Rose loved cooking; Bingo; and telling jokes, she will be missed by family and many friends. Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband John; and one son, Frank. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Gloria of New Jersey; son, Joseph and wife Arlene of Rio Rancho, NM; grandchildren, Paul and wife Ruby of Rio Rancho, John and wife Kati of Chicago, IL, Robert and wife Bonnie of California, Paul and wife Betsy of Florida, John and wife Mary of California, Richard and wife Phyllis of New Jersey, Rose Ann Martin and husband Ben of Rio Rancho, NM; 23 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. FRENTZEL -- Mildred Junietta Frentzel, 87, a New Mexico resident since 1956, died Thursday September 3, 2009. She is survived by her daughter, Annette Jordan and husband John of Los Ranchos; her son, Martin and wife Sandra of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Andrew Jordan of Virginia; Melissa Guck and husband Clay of Albuquerque; Joseph Fuller and Dylan Frentzel of Albuquerque; great grandchildren Brandan Doubrava of Rio Rancho; Cassidy, Adam and Jonathan Jordan of Virginia; Aiden Frentzel, Taylor Fuller and Dorothy Guck of Albuquerque; niece Pam Gregory of Oklahoma; and nephew T.J. Mikkelson of Nebraska. Mrs. Frentzel was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Lambert Frentzel; her mother and father, Helen and William Alley; and her sister, Jackie Mikkelson. Mrs. Frentzel, a good and faithful servant of the Lord, was baptized by the Rev. E.M. Frentzel April 9, 1944 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Shenandoah, Iowa. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and did volunteer work for the March of Dimes. Born in Page County, Iowa, Mrs. Frentzel lived by the philosophy the "everybody likes to eat." She spent 31 years serving enchiladas and hamburgers to employees of Los Alamos National Laboratory. She enjoyed dining at Rancho de Chimayo, El Paragua, La Tertulia, Bishop's Lodge, Katherine's, and Furr's Cafeteria. Her life will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Sept. 10 at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, with Pastors George Swanson and Randy Walquist presiding. SANCHEZ -- Della Pauline Sanchez, 91, native of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2009. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews including, Mary Gallemore, Mary Ann Sanchez, Marcella Hoehne, Viola Ulibarri, Raymond Sanchez, Gilbert Sanchez and Martin Sanchez. She was preceded in death by her parents, Olegario and Adela C. Sanchez. Della was born July 6, 1918 in Old Town. She loved her parents and family, and they were the most important part of her life. She was the last of the Alvarado Hotel's Harvey Girls and was so proud to have been able to be one of them. Della's time at church, Our Lady of Fatima, and her time with friends in the Women's Guild were her most treasured moments. Gallagher Hall was where everybody knew her name. She will be sorely missed. Rosary will be recited Monday, September 7, 2009, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, September 8, 2009, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas NE.
