Monget -- Ralph Roland Monget, 72, a resident of Albuquerque since 1973, died Thursday, May 10, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Maria Monget of Albuquerque; sons, John P. Monget and wife, Loretta of Albuquerque and Ralph R. Monget, Jr. and wife, Alicia of Las Cruces; daughters, Toni M. Harris and husband, Glynn David and Romenia E. Montgomery and husband, Steve, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, David Harris, Jessica Harris, Hope Harris, James Montgomery, Kevin Montgomery, Shannon Montgomery, Steven Monget and Andrew P. Monget; great-grandchildren, Donte Harris and Deja Harris; brothers, Robert P. Monget, Jr. and Edward Wright; and numerous other family members and friends. Mr. Monget was a Korean and Vietnam War era veteran who retired from the Air Force after serving his country proudly for 27 years. He then began a second career with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after 18 years in 1993. Mr. Monget was an avid fisherman and hunter. Above all else, he had an undying love for his family, and they will miss his humor, his company and his love. Rosary will be recited Monday, May 14, 2001, 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, May 15, 2001 9:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Road NE. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Oritz -- Ernest L. Ortiz, 52, passed away at home on Tuesday May 8, 2001. He served in the armed forces as a combat medic in Vietnam. He is survived by his wife Jessie Ortiz , two sons and one daughter Christopher Ortiz, Herman Ortiz and wife Dina , and Andrea Gallegos . Seven grandchildren , Zachary, Brianna, Damian, Alexis, Isacc, Santana and Adrain. His father Arthur Ortiz , three brothers and two sisters; Albert Ortiz and wife Sadie, Arthur and wife Rose, Johnny, Lupe and husband Vincent Alice and husband Elmer. Numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Visitations will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday in the Stover Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at St. Therese Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday morning at St. Therese Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Cordova, James Gurule, Raymond Moya , Gilbert Gallegos Jr., Louis Ortiz and Pat Moya . Poukey -- Dr. James Wesslen Poukey died suddenly on May 1, 2001. He was 61 years old. James was an outstanding theoretical plasma physicist who worked at Sandia National Laboratories for 30 years. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1940, and moved to Cumberland, Wisconsin in the early 1950's, where he graduated from Cumberland High School in 1957. James went to the University of Wisconsin and received a BS in Mathematics in 1961, an MS in Plasma Physics in 1963, and a PhD in Plasma Physics in 1966. James joined Sandia National Laboratories in 1967. As a member of the Technical Staff in the Plasma Theory Division, James was one of the founding fathers of the Pulsed Power research area. He was instrumental in developing and using the first computer codes in this area to perform numerical simulations of complex physics phenomena associated with the generation, transport, and application of intense relativistic electron beams and intense light ion beams. Throughout his career, he worked with many colleagues on a variety of projects including electron beam diodes, bremsstrahlung radiation sources, collective ion acceleration, electron beam fusion, light ion diodes, light ion fusion, heavy ion fusion and advanced fusion, and advanced hydrodynamic radiography. He was among the first to be designated as a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff (DMTS) in 1983. Throughout his career, he remained in the Plasma Theory Division, which became the Beam, Plasma, and Electromagnetic Theory Department in 1995. He retired from Sandia National Laboratories in 1997. He was always admired and will be long remembered for the impeccable quality of his work, his outstanding productivity, and his unforgettable dry wit. James was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Xi, and a Fellow of the American Physical Society. He was active in Intertel, the Triple Vine Society, ISPE, Mensa. Other interests/studies were real and artificial intelligence, history, pool, golf, piano, classical music, and puzzles. James is survived by his devoted wife, Cathryn, and little black dog, Fido; sister Mary Hauser and husband Robert of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; sister Martha Baireuther of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; nephew Michael Baireuther and wife Monica of Phoenix, Arizona; niece Kari Rude and husband Jon of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; stepdaughter Frances Elder of San Diego, California; and stepson Paul Reed and wife Laura of Tucson, Arizona. A Memorial celebrating the life of James W. Poukey will be held at Sandia National Laboratories on Monday, May 14, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. in Area IV, Building 960, Room 113 (Call 845-7303 for information.) Reception will follow at the home of Rab Freeman and Bill Howden (Call 232-7518 for information; directions to the Reception will be provided at the Memorial Celebration.) Squyres -- Thank you for your kindness, support, and many beautiful flowers during our time of sorrow. James Squyres born February 6, 1949 passed away May 2, 2001 was preceded in death by his father, Alfred James Squyres; and his daughter, Cynthia Ann Squyres. He is survived by daughters, Jennifer Gonzales and husband, Scott of Albuquerque, and Traci Squyres of Texas; granddaughters, Hailey and Hannah Gonzales of Albuquerque; his mother, Lucille Squyres of Tijeras; two sisters, Judy Brown and husband, Herschel of Tijeras, Brenda Imel and husband, Norm of Tijeras. Jim also had many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly (and he was their Santa Claus every year!); spouse, Nikki Squyres. A special Thanks to Patrick "Mac" McGrath who was Jim's lifelong friend. Wadell -- Eleanor R. "Ellie" Wadell, 61, a resident of Albuquerque since 1981, died on Wednesday, May 9, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Lt. Col. James A. Wadell USAF-Retired of Albuquerque; daughters, Lara W. Kelley and husband, Bryan K. of Tucson, AZ and Kristel H. Jonkosky and husband, Charles K. Jr. of Phoenix, AZ. Eleanor faithfully served her country as an Air Force wife and civil servant. She served her community as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader and also taught school. She was of Welsh heritage and grew up in the Philadelphia area. Eleanor was a graduate of Grove City College in Pennsylvania. She loved her family and enjoyed reading, flowers and quilting. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2001, 3:00 p.m. at Kirtland Air Force Base East Chapel, Chaplain Greg L. Woodbury, officiating. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements by French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel.

Rigo -- Julius A. Rigo, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, passed away May 9, 2001. He enjoyed many sporting activities including baseball, fishing and horseracing. Mr. Rigo was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Rigo in 1942. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rose Rigo of the family home; sons, Bob Rigo and wife, Alice and Bill Rigo all of Albuquerque; daughters, Rosemarie Mendenhall and husband, Carroll of Upper Lake, CA, Linda McDermott and husband, James of McIntosh, NM, and Mary Helmer and husband, John of Edgewood; 21 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. Williams -- Mary Elizabeth Williams, 77, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, May 8, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Calvin Williams of Albuquerque; sons, James C. Williams and wife, Susan of Arlington, TX and Steven D. Williams of Albuquerque; and brother, William F. Botwinis of Cortez, CO. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her sister, Gladys Bullock. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was involved with the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Williams started her career at Albuquerque National Bank where she worked for 11 years. Then she worked for 44 years with her husband, Calvin Williams at their State Farm Agency on 4th Street until they retired in 1999. Services will be held Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at First United Methodist Church, 314 Lead SW, with Dr. Terry Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will be Harry Kovaschetz, Jim Wade, Rich Neely, Mark Fuller, Donald Fuller, Dave Cowan and Eric Nudell.
