Palmer -- Nelson Palmer, 86, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 1998. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Nelson served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the V.F.W. He was retired from the AT&SF Railroad. Nelson was preceded in death by his wife, Lupe Garcia Palmer; his son, Leroy Palmer in 1987; and his brothers, Vancie, Bob and Claud Palmer, all of Indiana. He is survived by his wife, Josie of the family home in Belen; seven children, Billy and his wife, Julie of El Paso, TX, Freeman and his wife, Kristina of Los Lunas, Tommy of Los Lunas, Anna Frances Palmer of Belen, Bobby Palmer of Los Lunas, Linda Potts and her husband, Tony of Phoenix, AZ, and Bernice Garcia of Belen. Also surviving is his brother, Savanes of Osgood, IN. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, 9:00 a.m., at Romero Funeral Home with Reverend Boyd Morerod officiating. Interment will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason, Brian, Kevin, Steve, and Ricky Palmer and Danny Young. Romero Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jakobe -- Mary Patricia Jakobe-Gallegos, 45, of Albuquerque, formerly of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 13, 1998 at St. Luke's Hospital. A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 16, 1998, at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 15, 1998 at McGilley State Line Chapel, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Gallegos was born October 11, 1952 in Kansas City, MO. She was Catholic. She was a graduate of St. Michael's High School in Santa Fe, NM. She attended college at the College of Santa Fe. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Nelson Gallegos of the home; a son, James Gallegos of the home; a step-son, Nelson Gallegos Jr. of the home; a step-daughter, Michelle Gallegos of Albuquerque; four brothers, George A. Jakobe III of Kansas City, MO, Mark Quick of Denver, CO, Bob Quick of Santa Fe, NM, Kelly Quick of Columbia, MO; three sisters, Martha Putnam of Woodside, CA, Kay Quick of Las Vegas, NM, Vicki Quick of Cleveland, MO; one grandson, Brett; two aunts, Mary J. Jakobe of Kansas City, MO, Patricia R. Davis of Dearborn Heights, MI; and one uncle, Eugene Jakobe of Kansas City, MO. Arrangements: McGilley State Line Chapel.

Walker -- Mr. Warren Noel Walker, 80, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on March 4, 1998. Mr. Walker was the beloved husband of 49 years to Mrs. Elizabeth Haley Walker. Mr. Walker is also survived by four sisters, Lela Smith and husband, John of Applevalley, CA, Clarice Haley and husband, Roy R., Lois Winifred Vickers, and Peggy Jewell from Chillicothe, MO; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnephews, great-grandnieces, cousins and friends. Mr. Walker was a member of the Catholic Church and a veteran of the United States Army and United States Air Force, serving in WWII and a member of the V.F.W. Post #6216. He was a graduate of the Avalon High School in Missouri. A visitation will be Sunday afternoon in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. A visitation will be held Monday morning at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. with Deacon Tibo Chavez officiating. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Church with Father John Shedlock, Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Ray Lucero, Raymond Haley, Wilbur Maberry, Patrick Platero, Larry Nelson, Larry Maberry. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Maberry, Frank Maberry and Eric Maberry. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, in charge of the arrangements.
