Obituary for Palmer

Nelson Palmer, 86, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 1998. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Nelson served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the V.F.W. He was retired from the AT&SF Railroad. Nelson was preceded in death by his wife, Lupe Garcia Palmer; his son, Leroy Palmer in 1987; and his brothers, Vancie, Bob and Claud Palmer, all of Indiana. He is survived by his wife, Josie of the family home in Belen; seven children, Billy and his wife, Julie of El Paso, TX, Freeman and his wife, Kristina of Los Lunas, Tommy of Los Lunas, Anna Frances Palmer of Belen, Bobby Palmer of Los Lunas, Linda Potts and her husband, Tony of Phoenix, AZ, and Bernice Garcia of Belen. Also surviving is his brother, Savanes of Osgood, IN. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, 9:00 a.m., at Romero Funeral Home with Reverend Boyd Morerod officiating. Interment will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason, Brian, Kevin, Steve, and Ricky Palmer and Danny Young. Romero Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
