ALIRES -- Orlando S. Alires. God's loving arms are now holding our dearly loved husband, father, pompo, brother, uncle and friend, Orlando S. Alires, who went home on Thursday, December 3, 2009. He was born on June 1, 1954 and was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque. His parents, Jimmy and Rafaela Alires, have predeceased him. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 18 years, Theresa; daughters, Monica Gallegos, Lisa Gutierrez and husband, Clarence; son, Gabriel Alires; grandchildren, Gabriel, Mariah, Marissa and Alexis; sisters, Dolores Alires, and Lorraine Garcia and husband, David; brothers, Ralph Alires and wife, Geraldine, Joe Alires and wife, Gina; mother-in-law, Estella M. Solano; along with the members of his extended in-law family; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His career as an electrician earned him highest regard for his work ethic and professionalism. An avid fisherman, he most enjoyed fishing in the Jemez. He possessed a passion for helping people, and his jovial wit and humor won him many friends. He had a true quality for making new friends wherever life took him. He was called upon by many people for repairs and always had the knack and ability to do so. He lived simply, loved generously, cared deeply, spoke kindly and left the rest to God, whom he served with a loyal heart and willing mind. A Christian service will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque, 4001 Osuna Rd NE. His good friends, Shad Rockwell and Mike Ortiz have been named as honorary pallbearers. GRIEGO -- Mary "Alice" Griego, 68, went to be with her Lord on December 1, 2009. Alice was preceded in death by her parents Juan and Cepriana; and sister Lucia Griego. She is survived by brothers Sisto and wife Consie, Dommie Griego, Johnny and wife Jeanette; sisters, Ida and husband Rufino Martinez, Lina and husband Norm Brown, Beth and husband Manuel Sanchez, Mona and husband Buzz Gallegos; and her loving "Popito". She was auntie, cousin and friend to many. A very special thanks to Angie, Shannon, Ann, Dan, Tamikua, the Cornucopia staff, Kindred staff, Alta Mira staff, Gentiva Home Health Care and her special friends Roberta and Juanita. Cremation has taken place. GUTIERREZ -- Teri Gutierrez, born on April 11, 1951, passed away unexpectedly on November 28, 2009. Teri is survived by her husband William (Dennis) Gutierrez; her brother, Mark Chappelle and wife, Roberta; nephew and niece Josh and Nikki Chappelle, niece Liam Hastings; aunt and uncle Walter and Charlotte Benny, aunt Marianne and husband Carl Blackie; brother-in-law Fred Gutierrez, brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Mona Gallegos, niece, Regina Gallegos; and her special cat Alfie. Teri was preceded in death by her parents Austin and Pat Chappelle; and brother Cliff Chappelle. Teri had many friends and will be missed by all who met her. Teri enjoyed her hobbies, including bead work, reading and Chicago Cubs spring training. Teri was a veteran of the US Navy and was employed at the US Postal Service, Tijeras Station. MONTOYA -- Joseph James Montoya, "JOE BROWN" - 26, a resident of Albuquerque went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 1, 2009. He is survived by his parents Rosella and Max Montoya. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Filia Madrid; grandfather Magdaleno Montoya; and great aunt Mollie Lovato. Other survivors include his grandfather Charlie G. Madrid; Aunts: Priscilla Madrid, Connie Romero and spouse John, Ann Montoya, Vicky DeHerrera and spouse Michael, Cathy Montoya, Theresa Montoya, Linda Candelaria and Johnny Barela, Loretta Shute and spouse Jeff. Uncles: James Madrid and spouse Hilda, Ernest Madrid and Susie Trujillo, Michael Montoya, Andy Montoya, Dennis Montoya, Frank Montoya and spouse Janice; great aunts and uncles: Mollie Garcia, Helen and Louie Vigil, Sophie Barela, Ida Leyba. Cousins: Elizabeth and Juan Brito, Megan and Tibo DeHerrera, Kendall Montoya, Jeremy and Leo Sandoval, Lori Sanchez, Rene Montoya, Deann Poupakis, Danny Garcia. Joseph was a member of Holy Ghost Parish and served many years as an Altar server and currently as the greeter coordinator. He attended Holy Ghost School and graduated in 2002 from St Pius X High School. He was currently attending the University of Phoenix completing a BS in Information Technology. A member of the Down Low Car Club, he enjoyed working on his 1965 Ford Thunderbird. He played soccer for many years with the Duke City soccer league and at St Pius X High School and was currently playing in the Adult soccer league. Joseph was previously employed by Lockheed Martin, SAIC and currently was employed by the USDA Forest Service Accounting Service Center. Joseph will be remembered as loving son, trusted friend,and for the laughter he gave to all. He was devoted to God and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. All are invited to a viewing on Friday, December 4, 2009, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Service Carlisle Chapel at 3113 Carlisle NE. QUINTANA -- CONCHA S. QUINTANA Age 96, passed away on November 30, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, Enrique and Benigna Sanchez; her in-laws, Alejandro and Josefita Quintana; her husband, Pedro A. Quintana; her daughter, Conchita P. Quintana; and her infant daughter, Maria Elena Quintana. She is survived by her daughters: Estella Parraz (Joe), Dolores Q. Myers (George, deceased), Carmen Quintana, Henrietta Quintana and Maria A. Barton (Jim); her son, Pedro A. Quintana (Myra Morton); her sisters-in-law: Emma, Wally, Celine and Mela Sanchez and Lucy Medina; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Concha was a member of the Guadalupe Altar Society and Guadalupe Ladies Society. She provided intricate hand made biscochitos for the King of Norway and numerous Gubernatorial events throughout the years. Serving as Pallbearers will be: Joseph Parraz, Max Myers, Zeke Pierce, Mario Romero, Guadalupe Sanchez, Chris Quintana and Benjie Ulibarri. Honorary Pallbearers are: Joe Parraz, Jim Barton, Carl Sverre, her Sanchez and Quintana nieces and nephews with special mention of Al and Terry Medina, Ernest Zapata, Alex Quintana, Ed Quintana, Michael Gallegos, and Dan and Glenda Hogan. VILLEGAS -- Lenora Beatrice Villegas, age 33, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM was called home to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 29, 2009. Lenora was born in Sun Valley, CA on March 16, 1976. She is survived by her husband Eric Matthew Villegas; her daughter Samantha Villegas; her mother and father-in-law Danny and Glenda Villegas who were like her own parents; her very special aunt Ilene Gallegos who was her biggest supporter; her sister-in-law Vanessa Villegas; her mother Josie Pedroncelli; her brothers, Charlie Pedroncelli and Vivian Pedroncelli; her sister Mary Aguilar; many nieces and nephews and countless friends who will miss her dearly. Lenora was a loving wife, and a caring mother who took amazing care of her family. A Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2009. SALAZAR -- Leroy H. Salazar, age 45, of Albuquerque, NM passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, November 18, 2009. Leroy was born to Antonio and Ernestine (Gallegos) Salazar in Albuquerque, NM on January 31, 1964. Leroy was a loving mate, father, brother, uncle and friend. He was a construction worker who offered his services with a generous heart and loved his family dearly. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister Margaret Salazar-Baca. He is survived by his love, Belinda Armijo; his children, Jonathon Moya and Nicholas Salazar; his siblings, Antonio Salazar and wife MaryJane, Carl Salazar, David Salazar and wife Maria, Irene Baca and husband Steve, Bernice Candelaria and husband Carl, Cathy McErnie and husband Henry, Berta Salazar and many nephews, nieces and friends who will forever miss his humorous presence. BACA -- Lamberto Baca, age 92, of Albuquerque, NM awoke in the presence of his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 17, 2009. Lamberto was born to Emiterio and Dolores (Lopez) Baca in Puerto de Luna, NM on August 7, 1917. Lamberto was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who served his country proudly in World War II in the US Army and was an active member of the American Legion Post #13. He worked for Texaco as a tanker driver and retired from Sandia Labs. Lamberto was a long time member of St. Anne's Catholic Church since 1946. He enjoyed carpentry, fishing, learned and played guitar by ear and taught his sons to play as well. Lamberto was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary, his children; Eileen Vivian and husband Felix, John Baca and wife Eileen, Jim Baca, eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, five sisters and extended family and friends. A Rosary will be recited at 7 pm on Thursday, November 19, 2009 and the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11am on Friday, November 20, 2009 with all services being held at St. Anne's Catholic Church.
