BACHICHA -- Mr. Florencio Bachicha, 70, passed away at home in Escobosa on Monday, July 19, 2004. Mr. Bachicha was a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a life member of the DAV Chapter 3. Mr. Bachicha was active in the church. He was a Cruisista and a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He is preceded in death by his son, Miguel D. Bachicha. He is survived by his wife, Rose Bachicha of the family home; two sons, David A. Bachicha and wife, Peggy of Moriarty, NM, and Fernando Bachicha and wife, Irene of Escobosa, NM; and eight grandchildren. A Rosary for Mr. Bachicha will be recited on Wednesday evening, July 21, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at the Holy Child Parish in Tijeras, NM. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2004 also at the Holy Child Parish where the Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. DOW -- Arthur "Honey" Dow, 76, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died on July 20, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Dow of Albuquerque; six children, Liz Dow-Rubio and husband, John of Rio Rancho, Leonard Lincoln Dow and wife, Linda of Austin, TX, Arthur J. Dow, Jr., and wife, Cathy, Alfred Paul Dow and fiancee, Vicky, Howard Lee Dow and wife, Mary Hellen and Yvette Lopez and husband, David, all of Albuquerque; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Leo Dow, Ernest Dow and wife, Florence, Archie Dow and wife, Ramona, Orlando Dow and wife, Helen and Robert Dow, all of Albuquerque; dear sister-in-law, Priscilla Dow of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elisha and Claudina Dow; son, John Michael Dow; brother, Jimmy Dow; three grandchildren, Lincoln Paul, Derek James and Eryn Lynn. Arthur was a member of the New Mexico Retail Liquor Dealers Association, New Mexico Amigos, Elks Club, Lobo Club, Petroleum Club, NM Board of Realtors and the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce. Rosary will be recited on Friday, July 23rd, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW. MAEZ -- Ricarda Maez, 90, went home to be with the Lord on July 18, 2004. She was born on January 20, 1914 in Bernalillo, NM. Mrs. Maez was an avid reader. She is preceded in death by her sister, Estafanita Romero; son-in-laws, James Chavez and Joseph Scully; and her great-grandson, Kenneth Mark Chavez Jr. Mrs. Maez is survived by her children, Leah Scully, Bessie Chavez, Priscilla Dion and husband, Bob of Phoenix, AZ and Elsie Garcia; 21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her loving family. A rosary will be recited Thursday evening, July 22, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. Refreshments will be served after the rosary in the Celebration of Life Room also at Garcia Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning, July 23, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. MASSEY -- Robert Scott Massey, 58, was born on Wednesday, March 6, 1946 in Detroit, MI. He died on Thursday, July 15, 2004 near his home in Cochiti Canyon. Scott grew up in Albuquerque and attended the Albuquerque Academy before serving in the army. He attended Oberlin College in Ohio, and St. John's University in Santa Fe. Scott was a free spirit, who was pulled by his passion for sailing, and his love of Cochiti Canyon. He used the strength and grace of his hands to create amazing beauty in whatever he undertook. As a jeweler, he created unique styles of turquoise mosaic, wood and stone inlays. As a master carpenter, he worked for Taos furniture from 1977 to 1983 and developed a number of designs for that company, as well as for his own customers. He hand built wooden boats and dreamed of sailing down the Atlantic coast. As a building contractor, he built or renovated dozens of homes, using the same gift for design, woodworking skill and meticulous care that characterized all he did. He showered his family with affection and kindness, and was loved for his life-long pursuit of knowledge, his incredible work ethic, and his youthful spirit. We will miss his amazing smile, the depth of his eyes and his infectious laugh. He is survived by his wife of eighteen years, Melinda Massey, of Cochiti Canyon, NM; his parents, Dr. Robert and Mrs. June Massey, of Avon, CT; his sister, Janet Massey of Avon, CT; his son, Dr. Jonathan Massey Taylormoore, and his wife, Melissa of Falls Church, VA; his daughter, Rachel Idris Massey, and her husband, Will of Santa Fe, NM; his son, Cadet James Joshua Hall, of West Point, NY; and his niece, Melissa Massey Morgan, and her husband, Peter of Middletown, CT. SANDOVAL -- Derrick Allen Sandoval, age 16, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 18, 2004 from a tragic automobile accident. He was born on August 20, 1987 and was quite a talented artist. He is survived by his mother, Jenny Rubio and his father, Damacio Archuleta; grandparents, Maria Sandoval and Catarino Cardona and Anthony and Virginia Archuleta; three brothers, Donovan Sandoval, Matthew and Dominic Archuleta; uncle, Gilbert and wife, Jennifer Sandoval; uncle Anthony and wife, Maggie Archuleta; uncle, James Archuleta and aunt, Angela Archuleta; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends that loved him dearly. Pallbearers will be: Matthew Archuleta, Dominic Archuleta, Donovan Sandoval, Adrian Marrufo, Anthony Archuleta, James Archuleta, and Jacob Turrietta. Derrick was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all and will never be forgotten. A Memorial Rosary in Loving Memory of Derrick will be recited at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church located at 1818 Coal Place, SE, Alb., NM on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church on Thursday, July 22, 2004 at 9:30 a.m., with Interment to follow at Mt. STEPHENSON -- Robert Boylan Stephenson of Albuquerque died at home on July 12, 2004. He was born on September 6, 1927 in Ames, Iowa. He moved to Albuquerque in 1943 after his father's death. As a young man he served in the Navy, completed his BS in engineering and was commissioned as an officer in the Air Force. In 1954 he married Mary Ann Hastings, began a career in land surveying and obtained a JD from UNM School of Law. After a prolific career in civil engineering he began to write software for surveyors. His professional career ended with service as Chairman of the Environmental Planning Commission and Investigator for the NM Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors. He was preceded in death by his sister Anafred and her husband William Hume II, his brothers Conrad, Craig and James Stephenson and Mary Hester Stephenson, wife of brother Craig. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann, son Craig, daughter Ann Cort‚s, her husband Rodolfo and their children Daisy and Daniel and daughter Marylou Hillberg, her husband Andy and their children Elin and David. He is also survived by brother in law Bob McPheron and wife Irene, sister in law Colleen Newman and her husband Jim and sisters in law Ruth Stephenson and Cherle Stephenson. His family included many nieces and nephews and their families. A memorial will be held at the Kimo Theater on July 24, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Presbyterian Hospice, New Mexico Symphony Orchestra or the charity of your choice.

THEILER-BRADY -- Gladys Mary (Jackie)Theiler-Brady, a resident of New Mexico since 1950, was carried to heaven on July 18, 2004, by God's holy angels. On earth she was a lady; now in heaven she has found her place. The angels sing sweet songs to her in the presence of God's holy face. She was born in Moline, IL, and also lived in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Kentucky. Gladys married her first husband, Ray Theiler, June 13th 1936, in Louisville, KY. They had seven children. In 1950 they relocated to Belen, New Mexico. Ray passed away in 1956. She married her second husband, Andrew Brady, April 25, 1964, in Albuquerque, NM. Andrew passed away in 1990. While living in Belen, she was a member of the St. Monica's Catholic Group. After she moved to Albuquerque, she tutored elementary school children who had reading problems. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend-and loved by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Claire Sears McElhatton Hawkes and her father, Dallas Engstrom Hawkes; five brothers, Dallas, James, Donald and Harold (twins), and Keith; her late husband, Andrew Brady; her first husband, Raymond Paul Theiler Sr.; infant son, John Daniel Theiler. She is survived by four sons, Raymond Paul (Skip) Theiler Jr.; Jim Theiler and wife, Laurie; Jerry Theiler and wife, Christie; Mike Theiler and wife, Sharon, all of Albuquerque; two daughters, Nancy Summet and husband, Jim, of Yakima, WA; Marilyn Feldman and husband, Frank, of Rio Rancho, NM; sister, Ruth McGuire, of Albuquerque; sister-in-laws, Agnes Kaufman, of Louisville, KY and Bertie Skvara, of Cleveland, OH; numerous nieces and nephews- and one special nephew, Gene. She had 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Sharon Theiler and Kris Drake for taking care of our mother in her home, and to the staff at Valle Norte Caring Center for their loving care during the last 18 months of her life. Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 21, 2004 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors.
