BOATWRIGHT GONZALES -- Sharon Colleen Boatwright Gonzales, 53, went to be with her Lord, her parents and sister on Monday, July 26, 2010. She is survived by her husband Andy; son, Nathan Atchison and fiance Margo Lowe of Watertown, NY; daughter, Amy LaCroix and husband Leopold of Watertown, NY; grandchildren, Katelyn Rose, Terry Nathan, Samantha Colleen, Melody Rayne, Shane David and Neveah Rose; siblings, Donna Badger of Orland, CA, Richard Lynch of Harrells, NC, Margaret Duckwall of Portsmouth, VA, Johnnye Lu Ponte of Suffolk, VA, and F. E. Boatwright, Jr. (Chip) of Portsmouth, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceeded in death by her parents, Helen Mann Boatwright and F. E. Boatwright, Sr. and sister, Dorthea Susan Alphin. She was born and raised in Portsmouth, VA, and later traveled extensively, settling in Albuquerque, NM in 1998. Sharon was an avid Washington Redskins fan. She enjoyed the annual Hot Air Balloon Fiesta and loved Claude Monet artwork. Every July 4th was celebrated by viewing the musical 1776. From the time she could speak, Sharon loved to sing, whether it was in the car, in a church choir, karaoke, or any other opportunity to sing. Nothing meant more to her in this world than her husband and family. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten. GONZALES -- Sam (Sam Bass) M. Gonzales, 77, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, April 27, 2010. He was preceded in death by his son, Sammy Ray Gonzales; brother, Joe M. Gonzales; sisters: Dela Elkins and Dolores Yoder; and parents, Jose Gonzales and Carlota Gonzales. Sam is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen G. Gonzales; sons: Ronnie Martinez and wife, Marylou, Bobby Gonzales and wife, Lola, Rick Martinez and wife, Marylou and Donald Gonzales; daughters: Debra Bruno and husband, Joe, Patricia Gonzales and boyfriend, Chuck, Latisha Gonzales and fiance, Nick, and Mandie Gonzales; brother: Leo Ray Gonzales and wife, Lupe; sisters: Anita Archuleta and husband, Manuel; Gina Escobedo and husband, Joe; and Lillie Barreras, sister-in-law, Mary Carillo; and brother-in-law, Nash Gonzales; 27 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Sam was a six-year Army veteran who served in the Korean War. He worked for Groendyke as a truck driver for 25 years. He enjoyed going to the casino with his beautiful wife and enjoyed spending time with all of his grandchildren. He was a well known man and touched so many lives. A visitation will be Monday 3:00-5:00 p.m. in the Reflection of Life Chapel (Washington and Cutler NE) with a Rosary to follow at Queen of Heaven Church at 7:00 p.m. A Life Celebration Mass will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Church. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Martinez, Richard Martinez, Bobby Gonzales, Donald Gonzales, Joseph Bruno, and Ernest Pacheco. BRITO -- Elizabeth (Liz) Ruth Brito, 22, passed away suddenly on Saturday April 3, 2010. Elizabeth was born in Santa Fe, NM and raised in Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Filia Madrid and cousin Joseph James Montoya. She is survived by her mother Connie Madrid-Romero; stepfather John Romero; her loving grandfather Charlie G. Madrid; brother Juan Brito; and nephews, Jacob Brito and Dominic Gonzales; other survivors include aunts and uncles: Rosella and Max Montoya, Priscilla Madrid, Hilda and James Madrid, Ernest Madrid and Susie Trujillo; cousins: Michelle and Mark Madrid, Vangie and Matthew Madrid, Sandy and Patrick Madrid, Teresa Madrid, Gloria and Eric Bornman, Jeanette and Dennis Ortiz and Ernie Madrid; great aunts and uncles: Mollie Garcia, Helen and Louie Vigil, and Ida Leyba. Elizabeth attended Holy Ghost Catholic School and graduated in 2006 from St Pius X High School. She was currently a student at the University of New Mexico. ANAYA -- Ramona O. Anaya, age 90, a lifelong resident of Belen, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2010. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Ramona was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was loved by everyone that met her. Ramona was the rock of her family and she will be greatly missed. She recently celebrated her 90th birthday and had a wonderful sense of humor. She made everyone laugh, even at the end of her illness. Ramona was preceded in death by her husband, Esequio Sam Anaya; parents, Manuel and Antonia O'Neal; daughters, Evangeline Anaya and Rose Anaya Zulpo and her grandson, Jerry Lopez. She is survived by her loving children, Annie Gonzalez and her husband Ted, Louie Anaya and his wife Lucille, Paul Anaya and his wife Helen, Barbara Rubio and her husband Frank, Diana Zulpo and her husband Mike, Theresa Anaya and Gabe, David Anaya and his wife Virginia and Christina Pino and her husband Donald; 28 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Monday, February 15, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Riverside Funeral Home of Belen, 418 W Reinken Ave. followed by a recitation of the Most Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The funeral Mass for Ramona will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Anthony Sanchez, Andres Anaya, Brian Lopez, Michael Gonzales, Daniel Romero, Juan Pino and Allen Anaya. Rosella was an ordained minister who graduated from Rhema Bible College. She was very active in home bible studies and was active in Healing Rooms Albuquerque.
