APODACA, FIDELINA M. age 87, was born on December 23, 1927 in Cabezon, NM and entered into the Gates of Heaven on Saturday, March 7, 2015 in Albuquerque, NM. She was a long-time member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Fidelina was preceded in death by her daughter, Antoinette and husband Ramon T. Apodaca; granddaughter, Savanha Montoya and grandson, David Apodaca. She is survived by her daughters, Luisa and husband Marvin Friedrichsen, Lucille Apodaca and Irene and husband Steve Lare; son, Ramon and wife Ellen Apodaca; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizda Lovato, Stella and Frank Brunker from Loveland, CO. Services will be held at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th St. NW on Thursday, March 12, 2015. A Rosary will be recited at 8:00 AM. RAMIREZ, CATHERINE V. age 76, born May 26, 1938 to Alonzo & Francisca Van Damme of Albuquerque, NM and a resident of Albuquerque, entered into her Eternal Home, Saturday, March 7, 2015. Catherine is survived by her husband, of fifty nine and a half years, Tony P. Ramirez; children, Michael A. Ramirez and wife, Jane, Kathleen Ramirez, JoAnn Montoya and husband, John, Collette Archuleta and husband, Gary; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Catherine was preceded in death by her son, Thomas, and grandson, Jonathan Montoya. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, aunt and friend. Catherine's pride and joy was her family for whom she cooked a Spanish dinner every Monday. She was a loyal servant in the Roman Catholic Community, and was a member of the Franciscan 3rd Order, the Legion of Mary, a Eucharist Minister, and was involved in the prison ministry in her younger years. Catherine taught Catechism and Confirmation for twenty-four years to hundreds of children at Queen of Angels Chapel, Santa Ana Pueblo, and Sandia Pueblo. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Aquinas Newman Catholic Center 1815 Las Lomas Rd. NE. Final visitation will be Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Aquinas Newman Catholic Center . ELDRIDGE, FLORENCE G. Florence G. Eldridge, 94, mother, grandmother, cook, baker, gardener, seamstress, and quilter, passed away on March 1, 2015. Florence was best known for being a cook and baker. She was the cafeteria manager at Alameda Elementary School for more than 30 years. Hundreds of Alameda children went through her cafeteria and she knew most of them by name. She always managed to see that each and every one of them was fed, regardless of the circumstances. Many were volunteers in her kitchen, who helped serve meals, and the others, she greeted as they ate. In her last years, Florence resided in Algodones, NM, with her faithful dog, Jinny. She is survived by her four children, Jackie Adelmann and Rick Eldridge, of Bernalillo, NM, Sharon Lyons, of Mesquite, NV, and Douglas Eldridge, of Algodones, NM; their respective spouses, and a half-brother, Armando Serapio Sosa, of Sunland Park, NM. Florence also had 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garth; her sisters, Lucy, Frances, Annie and Ruby, and her brother, Freddie. A Graveside Service will be held Monday, March 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, in Albuquerque. MONTOYA, LILLIE F. Age 96, a Lifetime resident of Albuquerque, died on Tuesday February 24, 2015. She is survived by her nephew Stephen A. Montoya; Great-Niece Victoria N. Montoya; Great-Nephew Stevie C. Montoya and Great-Great-Nephew Jayden C. Montoya. A brother Gerald Montoya and also nieces, Geri Moya, Cia Arias, Margaret Brandt, and nephews Eddie Montoya and Dan Montoya. She was preceded in death by her sisters Isabelle Cheney, Lovella Montoya, and brother Alban Montoya; parents Edmundo Montoya and Margaret Baca. MONTOYA, ELOY age 96, a lifelong resident of the Village of La Bajada, NM passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015. Mr. Montoya is survived by children, Eloy B. Montoya Jr., Rosella Urrea, Patricia Diane Montoya; brother, Emiterio Montoya Jr.; his grandchildren, Fabrienne, Millicent, Greg, Erick, Gabrielle, David, Jessica, Erica, and Laura; his great-grandchildren, Michael, Tristen, James, Vivien, Adrian, Lorena, Andrea, Erick Jr., Courtnee, Rylee, Ayvree, Michaela, Ethan, Jayden, Elijah, and Isabella; his dog, Buddy; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. SLOAN, DOLORES CARRILLO Age 69, left this world to be with the Lord on February 21, 2015 after a courageous battle of many illnesses. She was born and raised in Cuba, New Mexico and graduated from Cuba High School in 1963. Before retirement, Dolores was a successful business woman, operating a coffee shop for Galles on Central, and followed as a Texaco gas station owner in Odessa Texas. Upon her retirement years, Dolores attended culinary art school in Idaho and followed with her certification as a CNA who touched many hearts and cared endlessly for those in need. She was an avid cook, loved watching races and football, and loved to bowl. Dolores was preceded in death by her husband Gary Sloan of Midland, Texas; parents Juan Carrillo and Guadalupe Perea Carrillo, of Cuba, New Mexico, her beloved sister Priscilla Carrillo Vallejos, brother-in-law, Roger Vallejos Sr., brother Jino Carrillo, a dear nephew Roger Jr. Vallejos all from Cuba, NM, and recently, her son in law, Glennon P. Cates of Alamogordo, NM. Dolores is survived by her only child, Gerri Montoya Cates of Alamogordo, NM; a grandson and his wife Brennon Cates and Cashmere Moheit; great-grandson and love of her life, Ari Jack Cates, all of Odessa, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law Flora Carrillo Lopez and Marco Lopez of Cuba, NM; brother and his wife, Johnny and Sally Carrillo of Albuquerque; a best friend Albert Valero of Midland, TX; & finally her dear companion, Robert O'Donaghue of Albuquerque, NM. Dolores also left behind her first love and father of her only child, Phil Montoya and a wonderful family full of loving nieces, nephews, aunts and friends, as well as her beloved dog Bella. The church service will be held in Cuba, New Mexico at Immaculate Conception, on March 7, 2015 at 10:30 am, followed by a burial at the Catholic Cemetery in Cuba and reception at the parish hall.
