Baca -- Rafael V. Baca, 72, a resident of Albuquerque for 45 years, died Thursday, October 29, 1998. He is survived by his wife, Eloisa B. Baca of Albuquerque; sons, Ruben D. Baca of Albuquerque and Carl L. Baca of Cubero, NM; daughters, Dolores B. Barton and husband, Paul W., Arlene B. O'Hara, Michelle L. Delgado, and Julianna Perez and husband, Adam, all of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Courtney L., Ashley L., Christina M., Deanna R. Baca, Victoria A. and Melissa M. O'Hara; great-grandchildren, Adrianna S., and Isaiah A. Baca; brothers, Fernandez Baca and wife, Sylvia of Albuquerque and Johnny Baca and wife, Julie of Cubero, NM; and sisters, Teresa Gabaldon and husband, Johnnie of Grants, NM and Erlinda Velasquez of Cubero, NM. Mr. Baca served in the US Army during WWII and he later served with the USAF in Korea and Vietnam. He retired from the NM Air National Guard with over 38 years service. Mr. Baca was a cattle rancher. He owned and operated the Baca Ranch in Cubero, NM. Mr. Baca was one of the last American Cowboys. He was a member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Sunday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with The Marianites reciting. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, Vermont and Phoenix Blvd. NE, with Father Mark Granito, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Meloche, Mike Helbig, Adam Perez, Paul Barton, Arlene O'Hara, Ruben Baca, Mike Willis and Walter Fuqua. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Sunday, 3:00 p.m. until Rosary. Grubbs -- John E. Grubbs, Sr., 74, a resident of Albuquerque since 1959, died Saturday, October 31, 1998. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dorothy Grubbs of Albuquerque; daughters, Patricia Ann Berrey and husband, William, and Debbie Edge, all of Los Lunas, NM; sons, John Grubbs, Jr. and wife, Karen of Edgewood, NM, and Danny Grubbs and wife, Connie of Los Lunas, NM; grandchildren, Bobby, David, Danny L., Danny Jr., Kadee, Cody, Daysha, and Michael; mother, Martha Grubbs of Dallas, TX; brothers, Tillman Grubbs, Jr. and wife, Christine of Dallas, TX, and Jimmy Ray Grubbs and wife, Rosemary of Denver, CO; and sister, Ladoris Thurston and husband, Joe of Salem, NJ. He loved the great outdoors - hunting , fishing and camping and especially enjoyed golf. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, at 10:00 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Marsh -- Edwin L. Marsh, Col. Ret., 68, a resident of Albuquerque since 1976 died, Friday, October 30, 1998. He is survived by his wife, Pat Marsh; son, David Marsh and wife, Eileen of Texas; step-daughter, Allyson Lee and Husband, Allan of Texas; step-son, Robert Hunter and wife, Katherine of Texas; step-daughter, Susan Morales and husband, Chris of Texas; eleven grandchildren; brother, William Marsh and wife, Betty of Illinois, Wallace Marsh and wife, Deborah of California, Earl Marsh and wife, Jan of Arizona and Leslie Marsh and wife, Lesvya of Illinois; and sister, Elaine Hall and husband, Richard of Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his sons, Kevin and Noel; and daughter, Leah. Edwin was born October 24, 1930 in St. Paul, MI the first of six children. He graduated from the University of Nebraska with a bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Mr. Marsh enter the Air Force in 1954 as a second lieutenant and was assigned to pilot training at Malden and Greenville Air Force Bases where he was awarded his pilot wings. He completed advanced combat training at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, KS where he was subsequently commissioned as a Air Force officer in 1956. Edwin served as combat pilot at numerous Air Force bases throughout the world, and served in staff and command positions which included The Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center at Kirtland Air Force Base. His primary flying assignments were in numerous Aircraft, as well as familiarization training in SR-71 U-2 and A-12. During his time in the military he received many distinguished service medals. He retired from the Air Force as a full Colonel in 1984. After retirement hobbies included travel, gardening, skiing, reading and managing investment. He was a member of The Retired Officer Association, Optimist Club, National Officer Association, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Kiwanis Club and Lamda Chi Alpha Fraternity. Special thanks to University Hospice for all their help during this difficult time. Morgan -- Marion F. Morgan, 71, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, died on Thursday, October 29, 1998. She is survived by her children, Mary M. Hands and husband, Jerry, and Thomas C. Morgan, all of Albuquerque, Hope E. Kile and husband, Bob of San Angelo, TX and Pat B. Morgan and wife, Kay of Denver, CO; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Thomas C. Morgan. Mrs. Morgan was an active member of Holy Ghost Parish, a member of Birthright of Albuquerque, and was active with St. Vincent de Paul Society. Rosary will be recited Sunday, November 1, 1998, 7:00 p.m., at Holy Ghost Parish, 833 Arizona NE, with Deacon Bob Stromberg reciting. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Holy Ghost Parish with Father Joe D. Vigil, Celebrant. Private interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, New Mexico at a later date. Shay -- Fedelina Shay, 83, passed away Saturday, October 31, 1998 in Albuquerque. She was a life-long resident of New Mexico and resident of Albuquerque since 1943. She is survived by a daughter, Evangeline Shay, of Bullhead, AZ; three sons, Robert Shay and wife Dorothy, Leon Shay, and Alan Shay, all of Albuquerque; 11 brothers and sisters; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Shay; a son, Anthony; and a granddaughter, Sheila. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, November 3, 1998 at 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE. A private Interment will take place at a later date. Benish -- Norma A. Benish, 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 30, 1998 to join her husband and sisters. Dear mother of Karen Benish of Albuquerque, Audrey Sharlein of Milwaukee, WS and Robert Benish of Costa Rica. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. No services are planned. Cremation arrangements are by Sunrise Society of New Mexico, 891-8200.

Ferguson -- Helen G. Ferguson, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since the 1940's, died Friday, October 23, 1998, at the Casa Maria Alzheimers Center. She is survived by her nieces, Virginia Doyle and husband, Philip of Rio Rancho and Thelma Koonz of Clearwater, FL; and nephews, John McAllister of Hot Springs Village, AR and Francis McAllister of Rothesay, New Brunswick, Canada. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth H. Ferguson, in October, 1986. Mrs. Ferguson was a graduate of the Gorham Normal School in Maine, the University of Maine, and Columbia University. For many years, she taught at Sombra del Monte Elementary School here in Albuquerque. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Monday, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Rev. Dr. Richard D. Freeman officiating. Gonzales -- David Gonzales, 49, passed away October 31, 1998. David was born in Atarque, NM, December 4, 1948. He was very active in genealogy for New Mexicans. He also work with Hispanic genealogy. He was preceded in death by this father, Frank Gonzales; mother, Nattie Gonzales; brothers, Gilbert, Phillip, and Leo Gonzales. He is survived by four sisters; Marcella Shell, Lydia Duran, Irene Gidcumb, and Flora Jaramillo, all of Albuquerque; one brother, Frank Gonzales of El Paso; Clara Parker and husband, John of Denver; many nieces, nephews, family and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, November 2, 1998 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Chapel with Burial on Tuesday at 12 noon at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Griego -- Leonor Griego, 70, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away on Friday, October 30, 1998. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Leonor was preceded in death by her husband, Enrique, in 1967; son, Floyd Griego in 1973; son, Bobby Griego in 1949; sister, Manuelita Baca in 1973; and brother, Danny Ronquillo in 1988. Leonor is survived by her daughters, Lena Marquez and husband, Eloy from Albuquerque, NM; Nora Trujillo and husband, John, of Belen, NM; sons, Jimmy Griego and wife, Irene, of Los Lunas, NM, Alley Griego and wife, Connie of Fairbanks, Alaska, Anthony Griego and wife, Lisa of Belen. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Edith Ronquillo; grandchildren, Henry Marquez and wife, Denise, Holly Manzer and husband, Jesse, John Henry Trujillo and wife, Pauline, Marilyn Castillo and husband, David, Jonathon Trujillo and Erica Byrd, Lori Campbell and husband, Brian, Lisa Griego, Daniel Griego, Angela Griego, Chantial Griego and Dominique Griego; 11 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held on Monday at 3:30 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited on Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. also at Romero Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at the San Isidro Catholic Church in Las Nutrias. Interment will follow in the Las Nutrias Catholic Cemetery.
