BACA, LORENZO G. Age 84, a long time resident of Tijeras, NM, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 in Albuquerque after a long illness. Lorenzo was born on July 14, 1930 in San Ysidro, NM, the last child to Roman R. and Epifania (Valverde) Baca. He was raised in Albuquerque and attended Sacred Heart and St. Mary's Schools. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954. He attended college in Albuquerque and worked with the US Department of Energy until he retired. He met and married Tina Gonzales in 1956. He is a member of Queen of Heaven Parish in Albuquerque. Lorenzo is survived by his wife Tina of Tijeras; children: Janet Busheme (Dave), Judy Baca de Arones (Luis), Paul Baca (Yvette), Joanne Baca de Holguin (Eddie), Ted Baca (Viola); he is also survived by his stepdaughter Rowena Baca and grandchildren: Andrea Holguin, Tia Ramirez, Lorenzo Baca, Rachel Baca, Paul Baca, Dominic Baca, Diego Holguin and Dante Holguin. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Raymond Baca, two sisters Clara Baca and Amantina Contreras. A rosary service will be held on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - LOMAS, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with a reception following. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Parish, 5311 Phoenix Ave. NE. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Santa Fe National Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the United States Navy. BAKER, ROBERT PAUL "Bob" died Tuesday, October 28, 2014. He was predeceased by his parents: John Raymond Baker, Sr. and Mary Phelps Baker; and brother, John Raymond Baker, Jr. Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Charlene Blissard Baker; son: Shefford Baker and wife Julie, and their children: Alexandra Baker and Dawson Baker; son: Kory Baker and wife Babbi, and their children: Beck Baker, Bay Baker, and Lake Baker; daughter: Shenda Baker and husband Jim Sterling, and their children: Auston Sterling and Kynwyn Sterling; daughter: Janine Cassidy and husband Steve, and their children: Annelise Cassidy and Breatta Cassidy; and sister-in-law, Carol McGinn. Bob was born 08/28/1931 in Laramie, Wyoming and attended Laramie High School and the University of Wyoming where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. He enlisted in the Navy as an Ensign in 1956 where he served our country on active duty through 1958 and in the Navy Reserves until his retirement in 1987 as a Captain. Bob was the commander of the local reserve unit in Albuquerque for many years. He worked at Sandia Labs from 1953 until 1994 where he became a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff and served as a district officer for the local chapter of IEEE. He was involved with the Albuquerque Folk Festival and the Unitarian Church as a board member/ president and with their youth group, La Amikoj where he mentored more than 100 teenagers. He was a sailor, skier, runner, 4H leader, hiker, hunter, folk dancer (leading folk dance groups), rollerblader, and bicyclist who built his own house and cabin while raising his four children. The family would like to especially thank his caregivers: Cynthia and Becky, Comfort Keepers, Ambercare Hospice, and the staff of Casa Angelina. Bob's Life Celebration will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at First Unitarian Church of Albuquerque located at 3701 Carlisle Blvd NE 87110. FLOREZ, ISADORA age 66, a resident of Mesa, AZ, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 21, 2014. She is survived by her parents, Abran and Georgia Serrano; her husband of 46 yrs, Alonzo Florez; her son, Alonzo Florez Jr. and wife, Dawn; grandchildren of her heart, Amanda Florez and Adam Florez; sisters: Benita Lucero, Rita Serrano, Martha Rogers and husband Kerry, Patricia Sichler and husband Robert, Clara Serrano, Selina Serrano and husband Louis Martinez; brothers: Richard Serrano and wife Georgette, Eloy Serrano, Michael Serrano, Abran Serrano Jr., and wife Donna, and Lino Serrano and wife Amy; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Anthony Florez; both grandparents and her mother and father-in-law Alonzo and Loretta Florez. She really enjoyed playing golf, quilting, needle point, painting, and sewing. But her greatest joy was spending time with Amanda and Adam. She was such a bright spot in our family and we will greatly miss our "Lollie". GEISLER, JEFFREY BRIAN Born April 17, 1976 in San Antonio, TX, passed away Saturday, Oct 25, 2014. Jeff is survived by the love of his life, wife, Pamela Herrera-Geisler; two step-sons, Dominik and Alex Trujillo; parents, Jim and Pat Geisler; two sisters, Becky Mays (Justin) and Deborah Glass; nieces, Madison and Macie Mays, Inslee and Leighton Glass; nephew, Dayton Mays; his granddaughter, London June; maternal grandmother, Martha Krejci; aunts and uncles, Carol and Jerry Nemec, John and Molly Krejci, and Nan and Sal Zamora, all of Texas. Jeff moved to Albuquerque in 1987 and graduated from Del Norte HS (1994) where he played varsity baseball for three years. After graduation, Jeff explored several opportunities in Albuquerque establishing a career at Cimarron Health Plan. Over the next 12 years, through hard work and effort, Jeff rose to the position of Manager of Network Administration at now Molina Healthcare. Jeff was defined by his polite demeanor, work ethic, and strong commitment to help others. Jeff enjoyed expressing himself through all genres of music and analyzing and solving difficult problems. He and his wife and his work family volunteered many weekends serving Habitat for Humanity, Roadrunner Food Bank, and many other organizations. Jeff was highly revered and loved by all who knew him. GURULE, SOPHIA age 97, was born on September 16, 1917 in Belen, NM and passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014 in Albuquerque, NM. Sophia resided at the Rehabilitation Center of Albuquerque, where she passed away peacefully. Sophia was very dedicated to her church of Our Lady of the Assumption, where she was a long time active member of the Legion of Mary and was also involved with Padre Pios prayer group, as well devoted her time to Eucharistic Ministry for the shut-ins. Sophia was preceded in death by her loving husband Bruno Gurule. She is survived by her beloved son, Joe Gurule; daughter-in-law, Melissa Krasser; granddaughters, Anita Duran and Jovanna Gurule and her husband Tyson Carpenter "her Tyson"; great-grandchildren, Nick and Jade Duran; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Gurule; as well as many other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. MARTINEZ, FLORA C. Flora just celebrated her 89th birthday with her family whom she cherished. She was surrounded by her loving family and went to be with our Heavenly Father on October 25, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Abel G. Martinez and survived by her three children, Magdalena McManus, Randy Martinez and his wife, Mary Esther, Cindy Griego and companion, Leroy Apodaca. She has eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and ten great-great -grandchildren; and son-in-law, Rick Griego. Our mother was a beautiful strong woman and has touched many lives, we will miss her very much and we will carry her in our hearts until we meet again. MOONEY, SHERRY Sherry Mooney passed away peacefully on October 11, 2014 at age 68 in Fredericksburg, Virginia, her home for 36 years. She was born October 28, 1945 to Kathleen Compton and Arthur Richard Mooney in the Dominican Republic. Sherry graduated from Manzano High School in June 1963 and from NM State University in June 1970. She taught school in New Mexico, Colorado and Texas until becoming a cloistered nun in monasteries in Roswell, El Paso and the Carmelite Monastery in Santa Fe. Illness forced Sherry to give up her vocation. Sherry chose to live in Fredericksburg, her favorite of the many places, including Hawaii, her family lived as Marine dependents of her father. She is survived by her mother, Kathleen Hook; step-mother Evelyn Mooney; sister Cathy Holmes and husband Jim; brother Shawn Mooney and wife Patty; step-sister Sally Del Porto and husband Tom; four nieces; three nephews; seven great-nieces; and seven great-nephews. A memorial Mass was held at St. Mary's Church, Fredericksburg, Virginia. Cremation has taken place and a private burial will follow at a later date.

ROMERO-ARAGON, MARY ELIZABETH Age 99, passed away on October 27, 2014. Mary was born on June 25, 1915 in Socorro, New Mexico to Herminio and Josefita (Torres) Aragon. She was the oldest child of 11 and the last survivor. She married Candido S. Romero on December 30, 1935 in Socorro, NM, they were married for 54 years and Mary was widow for the past 24 years. She was an active member of St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Albuquerque. Mary's motto for life was "Que Dios Quiere"- what God wants. Her faith and love is an example for all, as we all were able to share it with her. She is now at rest with her Lord and Savior. Mary is preceded in death by her parents; ten brothers and sisters; and husband, Candido, the love of her life. She is survived by one daughter and three sons; nine grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Mary lived to see five generations. Mary was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother and she will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. TILDEN, ROBERT Age 90, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, was embraced by the Lord Thursday, October 28, 2014. He was born in Nashua, NH and was a resident of Albuquerque since 1962, where he was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. Robert was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and Air Force, who served his country during World War II in Battle of the Bulge which was a major German offensive campaign. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Louise Marquez Tilden; step-daughter, Loretta Nesting-Glass and husband Robert of Yuba City, CA; grandsons, SSgt. TURPEN, FORREST E. Forrest Ellery Turpen, 84, of Albuquerque, NM, died peacefully and gracefully on October 24, 2014 with family by his side. Forrest was born September 1, 1930 in Hutchison, KA, and graduated from Dodge City High School in 1948. A 64-year resident of Albuquerque, he is survived by loving wife, Betty Lou Turpen; children Randy, Stephen and Gail; grandchildren Derek, Clay, Shane, Melissa, Michael, Jordan, Ceara and Douglas, and six great- grandchildren. He is pre-deceased by his son, Mark. Forrest worked for the Albuquerque Publishing Company for 32 years, and the Santa Ana and Twin Warriors golf courses for 22 years.
