APODACA, JULIAN In loving memory of Julian Apodaca, age 63, born August 24, 1950 in Albuquerque, NM, and passed away on June 26, 2014 in Moreno Valley, CA. He leaves behind his wife JoAnne Apodaca; two daughters Laura Apodaca and Teri Apodaca-Apa; his father and mother, Joseph And Laura Romero; brothers Joe, Dale, and Anthony; and sisters Rita Long and Annie Lucero. Julian grew up in La Puente, CA where he graduated high school, then went onto join the family's welding business. Julian was a great man who was just happy to be alive, was an accomplished skier, was an avid Parrot Head, and enjoyed traveling. His favorite place to visit is on the Island of Maui. Julian will be remembered as having a permanent smile on his face, appreciated a good joke and looked on the brighter side of life. Julian has gone to a better place, and is probably skiing some wild mountain whilst enjoying the company of his beloved dog Snuggles. Services to be announced.

BIDDLE, BARBARA LAMAR In loving memory of Barbara (Bobby) Lamar Biddle/Gates April 1, 1932 - July 8, 2014 Barbara was a loving mother and grandmother who will always be remembered. She had a successful career as an executive secretary, including her tenure at the University of New Mexico in the Linguistics Department. She was an avid gardener, professional singer as a child in Chicago, and the Jr. Women's Club President in Albuquerque, NM. Her loving family and friends will forever cherish the memories of her guidance and wisdom, involvement in charity, commitment to her faith, and as hostess to extravagant, lively dinner parties. There are not enough words in this world to describe the amazing, progressive woman Barbara was. Barbara is survived by her children Apryl Gates-Remmer and Michael Gates; their spouses Jeff Remmer, Mary Gates; grandchildren, Michael Gates, Jacob Gates, Eric Remmer, Alyssa Gates, and Jared Remmer. BROOKS, BETTY Age 85, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2014. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Stewart and husband Bill; her son, Bart; daughter-in-law, Valerie; brothers-in-law, Don and wife Rose and Carl and wife Mary Jane; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Bob; her son, Bob; her parents, Earl and Vista; and her sister-in-law, Jean. Betty was a member of Netherwood Park Church of Christ for over 60 years. She devoted thousands of hours to volunteer work both church and non-church related. Ever humble, she did not realize how many people at church knew, admired and loved her. She influenced many by her Christian example. Betty enjoyed spending time with her kids and reading, gardening, cooking and travel. Pursuant to Betty's wishes, no public ceremony is scheduled. CHAVEZ, PAUL Born on December 5, 1981, lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away July 5, 2014. Paul was preceded in death by his father Vincent and mother Diane, grandmothers Grace and Agnes, and uncle Ron. He is survived by his grandfathers Vicente and George; two sisters Crystal and Stephanie; four brothers Stephen, Juan, Ernie, and Jovan; his aunt Nadine; and uncles John and Phil. He is also survived by his girlfriend Elizabeth; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 6:00 PM at St. Therese Catholic Church, Funeral Mass on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 9:00 AM followed by burial services at Mt. Calvary Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his father. Paul was a talented artist with an amazing smile and will be missed by all who loved him.

GARCIA, ANGELA J. Age 64, resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully July 12, 2014 surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her father Alfred V. Martinez. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert L. Garcia. She is also survived by her daughter Renee Garcia and fiance Rick Shean; son Robert Garcia and wife Ednalyn; grandchildren Brian, Eric, Angelo, Riley and Isabella; mother Lillie Martinez; her sisters Barbara Martinez & husband Ruben, Terry Trujillo and husband Tony, Connie Chavez and husband Tim; brothers Alfred Martinez Jr. and wife Janis, Vincent Martinez; mother-in-law Ramona Garcia; brother-in-law Edward Garcia and wife Nicki; sister-in-law Teresa Sanchez and husband Jimmy; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Angela was a career federal employee with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service when she retired in 2006. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 15th at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Road NW from 5:00pm - 6:00pm. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00pm. GATEWOOD, ALBERTHA FRANCIS Albertha (Bertie), age 88, passed away July 14, 2014. Bertie and her twin sister, Betha were born on February 10, 1926, in Cuba, New Mexico to Earl and Elzada Young. When Bertie and Betha were nine months old, their mother passed away. Three years later their father remarried, and Velma became their dear mother. Bertie graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1943 and from the University of New Mexico with a teaching degree in 1948. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Bertie married Gerald Sterman Gatewood (Jerry) on December 18, 1948. They raised eight children. Bertie taught elementary school from 1964 to 1981. After retirement, she was a docent at the Albuquerque Museum and at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History. Bertie was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a mission in the San Antonio, Texas Mission from March 1995 to September 1996. She served in the LDS Albuquerque Temple from 2000 to 2011. Bertie is survived by her sister, Sarah Elizabeth Mount (Betha); her eight children, Jerre Ader (Les), Nancy Brown (Craig), Leslie Davis (Alan), Randy Gatewood (Kathy), Scott Gatewood (Marjorie), Debbie Chavez (Norman), Mike Gatewood, Donald Gatewood; and by her greatest joy, her 37 grandchildren and 65 great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held Friday, July 18, 2014, at FRENCH - Wyoming, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 19, 2014, 11:00 a.m., at the LDS Montano Chapel, 1100 Montano Rd. GONZALES, NESTOR FLORENTINO SR. Nestor went to be with his Maker on Sunday, July 13, 2014. He is survived by his daughter, Antoinette Gama; son, Nestor Gonzales, Jr and wife, Judy; grandchildren, Rico Sanchez, Mario Sanchez, Israel "Izzy" Gama, Monica Gonzales, Tashia Gonzales and Nestor "Hito" Gonzales III; four great-grandchildren, Ethan Sanchez, Miquela Sanchez, Aziah Gonzales and Xavier Gonzales; sisters, Cecilia Gallegos and Isabel Serna; and several nieces and nephews. LOPEZ, JUANITA M. Age 88, of Mountainair, NM passed away at her home on Sunday, July 13, 2014. Juanita was born November 2, 1925 in East View, NM to Charlie and Elisia (Serna) Moseley. She married Andres F. Lopez on July 12, 1944. He preceded her in death in 1962. Together they had and raised six sons and three daughters. Juanita was a member of the St. Alice Catholic Church in Mountainair. She was a server at the Mountainair Senior Citizens Center for many years. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Elisia Moseley; husband Andres F. Lopez; sons Ernie, Chris, Frankie and Rudy Lopez; daughter Judy Elaine Lopez; and sisters Bennie Lopez and Eva Meyers. She is survived by her sons Robert E. Lopez of Albuquerque, Donald A. Lopez and Angela Rivas of Los Lunas; daughters Amy Isaacs of Willard, and Dorothy Baca of Albuquerque; brothers Manuel, Richard, George and Tommy Moseley; sisters Bessie Moseley, Dora Lozoya, and Edwina and Stella Moseley; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. LOPEZ, ANNIE Age 69, the Lord took our beloved mother, grandmother great- grandmother and sister on July 10, 2014. She was greeted in Heaven by her husband of 49 years Tom E Lopez, parents Tillie Jirol, Abel Jirol and mother-in-law Erla Gabaldon. She is survived by five children: Sharon Lopez, Karen and Fred Hernandez, Denise Lopez and Ray Castillo, Thomas Jr. and Joyce Lopez, Kevin Lopez and Casey Garcia; sisters: Dorothy and Richard Martinez, Laura Jirol; sister-in-law Linda Gabby Gabaldon; grandchildren: Abel Lopez, Tony, Ricky and Alicia Hernandez, Casey Lopez, Ray Jr. and Natasha Castillo, Atrelle Quibel-Lopez and Kevin Lopez Jr, Vincent and Brittany Garcia; and 12 great-grandchildren. Annie retired from Presbyterian Hospital as a security guard for 17 years. Annie was well known as an arts and crafts artisan. We'll always miss you mom! MARTINEZ, RALPH (RAFAEL) P. age 47, born in Albuquerque to Ricardo and Teresa (Padilla) Martinez, passed away at home in Albuquerque, Saturday, July 12, 2014 . After living in Los Gatos and San Jose, CA for many years Ralph returned to his childhood home to care for his mother. Ralph was known for his kindness, sense of humor and his giving heart. He worked as a C.P. A. at Center for Employment Training for a National nonprofit organization in CA. Ralph is survived by his beloved, mother, Teresa (Padilla) Martinez of the family home in Los Padillas; sister, Dr. Berlinda Gallegos and husband, Gilbert of Tega Cay, SC; brother, Richard Martinez and wife, Gerri of Albuquerque, NM; nieces, Adelina Martinez, and Nanette Hidalgo and husband, Joe; nephew, Gilbert Gallegos Jr. and wife, Shauna; several loving aunts, Predicanda Padilla, Lina Padilla, Alma Martinez, and Stella Ortega; uncle, Jose Amarante Jr.; many cousins, including State Senator Michael Padilla, NM Cabinet Secretary of Taxation and Revenue, Demesia Padilla and former Secretary of State, Clara Padilla-Andrews; and a host of friends. MOORE, MARILOUISE (BUNNY) November 2, 1930 - July 10, 2014 Marilouise, who was known to her family and friends as Bunny, was born at Fort Francis E. Warren in Cheyenne, Wyoming to parents Florence and Paul Evans. Bunny lived most of her life in Santa Fe and graduated from Loretto Academy in 1948. That same year she married J.M. (Mackie) Moore, former Santa Fe City Councilman, who preceded her in death in 1995. Bunny was a devoted wife and mother. She was a devout Catholic and belonged to the Saint Francis Cathedral Parish. She enjoyed all types of arts and craft work and was a member of the Santa Fe Embroiders' Guild for many years. Bunny moved to Albuquerque in 2012. Before long she connected with "friends her own age" and began enjoying stitching sessions with a new embroidery group. During her final days, Bunny completed her last needlework piece for a grandson, a colorful landscape based on a Grand Canyon photo that she had found in a magazine. Bunny took great joy in meeting and holding her two youngest great grandchildren during the month before her passing. She is survived by her three children, Linda Moore and her daughter Memi; Bill and wife Diana Moore and their children, Bryan, Stephanie, and Michael and their families; Karen and husband Barney Russell, and Karen's sons Clay and Carter Wallis; sister Elaine Gilmartin; brothers-in-law Dick and Jerry Moore and their wives Mary Sue and Marsha; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews scattered far and wide. A Rosary will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 511 Alicia St. Santa Fe, NM, followed by a Mass at 11:00 a.m.
