KING, ELIZABETH a native New Mexican, born Nov 10, 1942 passed away Sunday June 30, 2013 after a two year battle with lung cancer. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Donaciano Lovato Sr. and Fabiola Francis Lovato and her brother, Jose (Joe) Alfredo Lovato. She is survived by her three brothers, Don Lovato Jr., Peter Lovato, and Joseph Anthony Lovato; and four daughters, Theresa Blea, Mary Flores, Tammy Sherfy and La Vonda King. Lisa, as she was known, loved the outdoors, loved her family and was extraordinarily generous. As the primary caregiver for both her parents, she made the last few years of their lives, safe, happy and dignified. Fortunately for all of us, she also had time to support others, including sixteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren - her life revolved around her family! And when she did find time for herself, she definitely made up for it - you could say she was a highly caffeinated social butterfly with extra large wings. Always ready to strike up a conversation with a complete stranger or help someone in need, she was a steady voice with a steady hand and a beautiful smile. She will be greatly missed! A Rosary will be recited on Friday, July 12 at 9:30 a.m. with a Memorial Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. at the Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to any charitable cancer research organization of your choice.

PINO, LYDIA Lydia passed away peacefully on Sunday night at her home in Los Lunas. Born Lydia Lopez in bustling San Francisco, on July 6, 1939 (Thats San Francisco, New Mexico). San Francisco was once a bustling railroad town: complete with church, school, shoe shop and a saloon. After the railroad moved out, San Francisco, New Mexico became a virtual ghost town. Ramon Lopez, her father, took the opportunity to purchase much of the town and turned it into a farm and residence for what would become 14 children: 8 boys and 6 girls. Lydia was the second-to-the-oldest of 14 children. One night, she met a man at a dance hall. That night she fell in love. 3 months later she married Toby Pino, on February 8, 1964. When watching Lydia and Toby dance, it was an act of excitement, joy, and complete satisfaction: they could boogie. They were fun to watch. Her first born, a boy (Tobias) was born 366 days later, February 9th 1965, one-day after their first wedding anniversary. 368 days after that: 2 days after their second anniversary, her second son (Raymond) was born. Lydia was a caring wife, nursing assistant, bus driver and -- (the toughest job of all time) a Mother/ Homemaker. As a bus driver, Lydia would spend hours cleaning her bus and it was always the cleanest, best kept bus in the fleet. Eventually Lydia would get a new bus and every new bus after that coming into the fleet, because she kept her busses so well maintained. After one of her cleanings one could eat off the floor (if the students hadn't arrived yet). She retired from school bus driving after 24 years of service. She was only 63 when she suffered a Hymangioma bleed and stroke, the victim of a hereditary/genetic illness. It has been a family curse. She spent 3 months in a Phoenix rehab center in order to regain her ability to walk, talk, and eat again. Unfortunately, from that point on, she suffered many medical setbacks which made it difficult for her to get around and kept her in constant pain and discomfort. Despite these problems, she kept on going with ebullient cheer. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 50 years, Toby Pino; 6 brothers and 6 sisters; 2 sons (Tobias and Ross); 2 daughters (Josette and Brittany); 5 grandsons (Ross Jr., Ryan, Jeremy, Justin and Joseph); 4 granddaughters, (Brittany, Ashley, Yvette and Cynthia Rey); 2 great-grandchildren (Jonah and Brody); and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 children: Ramond Angilo, her 3-month-old-son and Yvette Denise her 32-year-old-daughter, 2 grandchildren, 12-year-old Janine Michelle Pino and 2-year-old Chelsea Dallas Garcia, 2 brothers, Benny and Elusim Lopez and Ramon y Ramona Lopez her mother and father. Lydia was an inspiration to many that knew her. She loved Native American Art and was an amateur potter. She made many replicas of Native American ceramics for others and herself. She also made beautifully decorated cakes for many occasions. The Pino children had the best looking, best tasting birthday cakes on the block. She will be dearly missed by so many. Services will be held at San Clemente Church in Los Lunas, 244 Lane Ave, 87031; 9:00am viewing; 9:30 Rosary; and 10:00am Mass. Reception to follow at her home in Los Lunas, 2272 Calle De Ortiz, 87031, and to celebrate her birthday as well.
