SANDOVAL -- PEGGY Age 91, passed away peacefully with her family present. She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Harwood and husband, Ken; granddaughter, Rita Grosso and husband, Bill; and great grand-son, Gavin Boyce, all of San Antonio, TX; her son, Stann Sandoval and his wife, Wendy; and son, Scott Sandoval of Albuquerque. She is also survived by many beloved nephews, nieces, friends, neighbors, a brother, and sisters. A celebration of her life will be held in the Chapel at Central United Methodist Church, 201 University Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106, where she was a member since 1955, on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 10:00 am. A reception will follow in the church social hall. Peggy's cremains will be interred at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 1:30 pm next to the ashes of her husband Jacob Sandoval who preceded her in death. They had been married sixty five years when he passed away in 2004. Peggy was an accomplished poet, writer, and songwriter with three published books of poems. She was a member of The Honored Ladies of the Ballut Abyad Shiner's, the NM Poetry Society, listed in the International Who's Who of Poetry, and the International Platform Association. She enjoyed a long career including 15 years as a government employee where she received several Superior Performance Awards, and worked in commercial real estate. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Animal Humane Society, Shriner's Hospitals for Children, or the charitable organization of your choice. SENA -- WILLIAM MICHAEL Known to many as Mike, age 57, passed peacefully in his home in Colorado Springs, CO, on Monday October 31, 2011. He was born on December 2, 1953 to Sonny and Sylvia Sena in Albuquerque, NM where he lived his life. Mike loved fishing, hunting and motorcycles, he was happiest when he was fishing. He has joined both his Father and Mother; Grandfather Henry Pettine Sr; Grandmother Ernestine Pettine; and Cousin Marvin Pettine in heaven. Mike is survived by his best friend and daughter Anna Sena; his only son Mario Sena. Survived also by his sisters, Shirley Archunde and husband Phil, Yvette Pettine and family; brothers, Ron Sena, wife Michelle, Albert Sena, wife Mayra; nieces, Sylvia Marquez and family, Syndi Varela, Julianna Adams and family, Renee Scott and family, Tara Chavez and husband Chris, Kelsey Sena; nephews, Fransisco Martinez and family, Angelo Martinez and family, Cody Dohs; close cousins, Brian Padilla and family, Chad Padilla and family, Carlo Pettine and family, Dominic Pettine and wife Karen and many more; aunts, Yvonne Pettine-Padilla and husband Wilfred, Kathy Martinez and family, Mary Ellen Lujan and family; uncles, Henry Pettine Jr and wife Janice, Bert Sena and family. SILVERMAN -- MURRAY MURRAY SILVERMAN, 91, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2011. He was born on September 21, 1920 in the Bronx, NY to Russian immigrants, Bella and Max Silverman. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Ruth Leah Baker of Providence, Rhode Island. Murray is survived by his loving daughters, Carol and fiance Phillip Crace, Mindy, Shelley, and son-in law David Foster; as well as friends of the family and loyal dogs Duke and Autumn. Murray was a WWII Veteran where he served as a navigator in the Army Air Corp. He joined Sandia Laboratories in 1956 and transferred to Albuquerque in 1962. He worked on special projects in the South Pacific, Nevada, and California. After retirement, he had his own business, Aztec Technologies, in which he developed automotive testers. He enjoyed working on his computers, building circuits, emailing and Skyping right up until the end. Dad loved his three daughters, whom he called his "three points of light"; he loved Cherries Jubilee ice cream, liver and onions, and mom's potato salad. He had a great, dry sense of humor that will live on in our everyday lives. We miss you Dad! STEWART -- DAVID A. Of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on October 28th 2011. He was born in Detroit, MI on November 15th, 1958 to Rev. Alexander Taylor Stewart and Edith Andersen Stewart and grew up in Clarkston, MI. Dave served his country overseas in the US Army as a communication specialist. He is survived by his daughter Claire Marie Stewart; sisters, Phyllis Frankoff and Joan Nudos; and brother Bruce Stewart. Dave wished to be cremated and there will be a family memorial in MI this summer. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Crystal Lake and Watershed Association at PO Box 89 Beulah, MI 49617.

THOMAS -- CHARLES GEORGE COL. USAF, (Ret) Age, 71, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, November 2, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Regina Marie Thomas of Albuquerque, NM; three children, Jennifer Harkins and husband, Brian of Boston, MA, Elizabeth Shriver and husband, Jesse of Las Vegas, NV, and Brian Thomas and partner, Drury Roberts of Lubbock, TX; grandchildren, Rachel and Emily Harkins and Amanda and Eric Charles Shriver; sister, Eileen Bikowicz and husband, Robert of Scotia, NY; brother, Lawrence Thomas and wife, Mary of Phoenix, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. Colonel Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Thomas; and daughter, Carolyn Marie. He was born in 1940 in Manhattan, NY and was a graduate of the Air Force Academy, Class of 1961. Colonel Thomas married the former Regina Pitassy in October of 1965. He had various Air Force assignments, and received two Legion of Merits, an Air Medal and nine Vietnam Service Medals. Colonel Thomas flew over 7000 hours in several different aircraft, his favorite being the C-141. His final military assignment was Wing Commander of the 1606th Air Base Wing at Kirtland AFB from 1985 to 1988. After leaving the Air Force, Charlie worked for Governor Gary Carruthers as a Cabinet Secretary of the General Services Department. Col Thomas spent 13 years at Sandia National Laboratories before retiring. He was also on the board of the Albuquerque International Sunport; Past President of the Southwest Defense Alliance; a board member of the Air Force Association; was one of the original members of the Kirtland Partnership Committee which was responsible for the retention of Kirtland Air Force Base during BRAC; and for the past 20 years was Military Analyst for KOAT, Channel 7 in Albuquerque. In 2010, Col. Thomas received the Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce Steve Schiff Award. Charles was a member of John XXIII Catholic Community. Friends may visit French-Lomas Chapel Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday November 7, 2011, 11:00 am at John XXIII Catholic Community, 4831 Tramway Ridge Dr. NE, Albuquerque, with Father Arkad Bizak as Celebrant with a reception following at the church. Interment will take place at The Air Force Academy Cemetery in Colorado Springs, CO at a later date. YARBROUGH -- WILLIAM CLYDE "DUB" Born on March 7, 1929, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2011. He joined his wife of 59 years, Ardith "Bigshot" Yarbrough, who passed away on July 19, 2011. Dub was the patriarch of a large family, having taken responsibility for his mother's family when his father died in 1949. He and Bigshot raised six daughters, Diane, Kathleen, Debra, Wilma, Donna, and Janet. He adored his grandchildren, John Bottegoni, Devon Towle, Casey Towle, Colin Shepherd, Katherine Shepherd and Grant Stephens. He was also "honorary grandpa" to lots of kids at the Cibola baseball fields back when Casey and Devon were playing baseball. He traveled to Denver to watch Colin and Katie play soccer. He and Bigshot were partners in business on Second Street and in Corrales. After they retired, Dub started his "political career" on the Corrales Watershed Board, which later became part of the Southern Sandoval County Arroyo Flood Control Authority (SSCAFCA). He served on the SCCAFCA Board of Directors for over 20 years, ten of them as Chairman. He was honored for his service to SSCAFA and the community at a retirement ceremony in December, 2010. The Board honored him by naming an arroyo after him. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie. He is survived by his daughters; grandchildren; sister Wenona Westbrook; his brothers Aldon and Kenneth. He has many sisters-and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews of several generations, and cousins by the dozens. A Memorial Service will be held in December.

ARAGON -- MARYANN Age 70, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 3, 2011. She was born on September 7, 1941 to the late Nasario and Maria Briones, in Albuquerque, NM, and was a resident of Bernalillo, NM. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. Maryann was a wonderful mother who enjoyed shopping and cooking; she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Felipe. Maryann is survived by her loving children, Elizabeth Valenzuela and husband Lorenzo, Yvonne Carabajal, Joe Carabajal and wife Terry, John Carabajal and David Carabajal and wife Susan; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 8, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Bernalillo, NM, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lorenzo Valenzuela, John Carabajal, David Carabajal, Lorenzo Valenzuela, II, Francisco Valenzuela and Jonathan Benavidez.
