WILLIAM CLYDE "DUB" Born on March 7, 1929, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2011. He joined his wife of 59 years, Ardith "Bigshot" Yarbrough, who passed away on July 19, 2011. Dub was the patriarch of a large family, having taken responsibility for his mother's family when his father died in 1949. He and Bigshot raised six daughters, Diane, Kathleen, Debra, Wilma, Donna, and Janet. He adored his grandchildren, John Bottegoni, Devon Towle, Casey Towle, Colin Shepherd, Katherine Shepherd and Grant Stephens. He was also "honorary grandpa" to lots of kids at the Cibola baseball fields back when Casey and Devon were playing baseball. He traveled to Denver to watch Colin and Katie play soccer. He and Bigshot were partners in business on Second Street and in Corrales. After they retired, Dub started his "political career" on the Corrales Watershed Board, which later became part of the Southern Sandoval County Arroyo Flood Control Authority (SSCAFCA). He served on the SCCAFCA Board of Directors for over 20 years, ten of them as Chairman. He was honored for his service to SSCAFA and the community at a retirement ceremony in December, 2010. The Board honored him by naming an arroyo after him. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie. He is survived by his daughters; grandchildren; sister Wenona Westbrook; his brothers Aldon and Kenneth. He has many sisters-and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews of several generations, and cousins by the dozens. A Memorial Service will be held in December.
