ACTON -- Amanda "Lorene" Herron Acton, 89, born in London, KY, December 15, 1920, and a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1964, died Monday, June 28, 2010. She is survived by her children, Marilyn Simmons of Klamath Falls, OR, Rebecca Harada and husband Alan of Abq., NM, and James Acton of Abq., NM; 16 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; her sister Leota Sizemore of London, KY; nieces, nephews, and friends. Mrs. Acton was proceeded in death by her husband Gene Acton; and her sons Eugene, Ronald, and Thomas; and grandson Thomas Jr. She was a local Avon Rep. for many years and thought of her clients as part of her family. She was a longtime member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church. ANDERSON -- Kurt was born in Lake City, IA on June 24, 1959 to Robert and Ruth Anderson. He grew up with his sisters Kathy, Laurie and Lynda in Omaha, NE. He was recruited and played football at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Kurt moved to Albuquerque in 1992 where he continued a long and successful career in sales. Kurt and Michelle married on February 13, 1993 and enjoyed 17 wonderful years together. Kurt was a loving and devoted father to his sons Kyle (20), Kasey (15) and Karson (7). Kurt enjoyed a wide variety of activities and interests including a lifelong love of sports and coaching his children. He was an active cyclist and loved the outdoors. He is also survived by his mother Ruth Anderson; sisters, Kathy Lynch (Tom), Laurie Griffin (Jim), Lynda Malczewski (Mike); and numerous nieces and nephews, Stephanie, Victoria, Daniel and Mathew Baggio; Patrick and Calisa Griffin, Alexa and Meredith Miller, Dekoda and Austan Williams, Lauren Johnson, Aubrey, Taryn and Thayne O'Hare. Kurt was a kind, warm and gentle man who will be missed by all who loved and knew him. Kurt's son Kasey wrote recently "He has a kind personality with a big heart. He never gives up or is negative on a subject. He always says to stay positive and never give up." BASHORE -- Carla Molley-Ann Bashore loving wife, mother, sister, cousin and friend passed away on June 23, 2010. She was born in New York City in 1945 to Eugenia Maria Armijo Maas ("Mama" Jean) and Tjebbe Wilem Maas. Her parents preceded her in death. Shortly after her birth, her family moved to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where her father was in business and where her mother became employed with the American Embassy. She began her early education at the Escola Americana in Rio de Janeiro, later attended the British School of Teresopolis, and graduated from Our Lady of Mercy High School in Rio. While in Brazil, she became an accomplished equestrian and continued that interest well into adulthood. Upon completing high school, she moved to Switzerland where she attended finishing school and then lived in Paris where she pursued her education and became a model for many years. On her many summer visits to visit with her maternal grandparents in Las Vegas, NM, the late Judge Luis E. Armijo and Eugenia Delgado Armijo, she attended summer classes at Highlands University. Carla was fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, French, German an her father's first language, Dutch. Upon returning from abroad, she resided in Alexandria, Virginia, where she worked for many years, putting to use her great talent for languages in that great cosmopolitan area of our country. Shortly after their marriage, she and Frank settled in Albuquerque and in 1982, she joined the staff of Dr. Julianne Lockwood, director of forensics in a program affiliated with the UNM Department of Psychiatry. She continued to work in the mental health area for many years and joined Dr. William Ulwelling as a member of his staff. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Colonel (Ret. US Army) Frank Bashore; children, Amy Bashore Canzoneri, George Bashore, Carrie Bashore Donovan, Hank Bashore and Frank Bashore; sister, Henriette Maas; and many cousins and first cousins for each of whom she held a special place in her heart, M. Christina Armijo, Roberto Armijo, Patricia Armijo Vigil, Luis Armijo, Francesca Armijo, Anita Armijo Naranjo, Adea Armijo, Jeannie Blattman, Thomas Armijo, Steven Armijo, Paul Armijo, John Armijo and Linda Blattman. She is survived by her special friends each of whose company she adored and who loved her, Rita Montoya, Juanita Huie, Julianne and Thomas Lockwood, Patsy Wolf, Vicky Koehler, Eva and Laszlo Gyongyosi, Lynn Martin and Elizabeth Castello and her friend, Michelle. her loving husband, Frank considered her to be the greatest chef, bar none and she was! Carla loved her dogs, especially her Irish Setter, " Bonnie". She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends who survive her. Family and friends wish to express their very special and heartfelt appreciation to the chaplain and nurses at Heartland Hospice and to the nurses and staff of the Albuquerque Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care and dignified compassion exhibited by each of them. BEESON -- David Drew Beeson passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on February 3, 1955 in Monroe, LA. He lived the majority of his life in Albuquerque, NM but moved to Piedmont, OK in 2002 to be closer to his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife Linda K. Beeson; his son Michael Beeson; his daughter Tamara McKinney; his daughter-in-law Kate Beeson; his son-in-law David McKinney; and his grandchildren, Dawson and Casady McKinney; he is also survived by his two brothers, Elton and Larry Beeson of New Mexico; as well as many more family and friends. He was loved by so many people, and equally returned that love. He will be deeply missed. The funeral service will be held July 7, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Crossings Community Church in the chapel.

BODNARCZUK -- Dmytro Bodnarczuk, PhD, 79- husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather- died unexpectedly in his home on June 30, 2010. Dmytro is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice, his Duchess of Flowers; their son Mark Bodnarczuk; daughter Melanie Mayo and her husband Marty; daughter Martha Snow and her partner Kathleen Kelly; daughter Marissa Konan; and daughter Maia Skiba and her husband Mitch; He is also survived by his grandchildren, Gretchen, Rebecca, Zachary, Samantha, Alison, Travis, Christopher, Samara, Jeffrey, Renee, Celia and Sloane; and his great-grandchildren, Jasper, Lily, Andora, and Cyrus Dmytro. Dr. Bodnarczuk was born September 30, 1930 to parents Wasyl and Melania Bodnarczuk in Cherniatyn, Ukraine, from which they emigrated to the U.S. at the end of WWII. He was an American patriot, serving his country in the Korean War and receiving recognition by Donald Rumsfeld for "promoting peace and stability during the Cold War." He served as both post and national commander of the Ukrainian American Veterans organization. He earned his PhD in history and was a social studies teacher at Pascack Valley High School in New Jersey for 25 years. After living in New City, New York, for 30 years, he and his wife retired to Albuquerque, NM. He was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Spring Valley, NY, and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Albuquerque, NM. Grandpa was a man of integrity who loved us unconditionally despite our frailties. He especially loved a spirited debate and to entertain us by doing "the mouse." We are blessed to be part of his family. He is loved and will be missed by all, including his dog, Jenny, who he walked faithfully twice a day. CALNAN -- Col. William Michael Calnan,USA (ret.) passed away on June 22,2010 of pneumonia. He was 90. He was born in Washington,D.C. He was a 1936 graduate of Western High School (Washington,D.C.), West Point,Class of 1943. He gallantly served in WWII, Korea,and Vietnam. He received a MS degree in International Relations from Georgetown University in 1961. He served as the Coordinator for Civil Defense and Emergency Planning for Montgomery County,MD and was elected to the Fairfax City Council in 1980 and served for two years. He was the oldest son of William Joseph and Mary Camille Downey Calnan of Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, of 56 years, Marie Baylies Calnan of Kansas City, KS; and his brother Eugene Thomas Calnan of Arlington, VA. Survivors include his sister Mary Camilla Sterner and her husband Donald of Albuquerque, NM; his children, Lt. Col. Michael Calnan, USA (ret.)(Vicksburg, MS), Margaret Jantz (Catonsville, MD), Barbara Calnan (Roanoke, VA),Kathleen Calnan (Arlington, VA), and Denise Chamberlin (Richmond, VA); His grandchildren, William, Camilla,and Heather (Vicksburg, MS); and a great-grandchild, Mia; his nephews, are Jack Dettweiler(Albuquerque,NM), Rick Dettweiler (Dallas,TX),and Kevin Calnan (Albuquerque,NM); He niece is Terry Ann Dettweiler (Albuquerque,NM). CAVASOS -- GARY CAVASOS, age 54, passed away in Arizona on June 23, 2010. He was born on June 1, 1956 in Hobbs, NM to Garret and Rosa Cavasos. Gary married Liz Cavasos in Las Cruces, NM on August 2, 1982. Gary served in the US Navy from 1974-1976 as a Jet and Helicopter Mechanic. He received his Associates Degree in Computer Science from NMSU as Certified in Microsoft, Apple and Quest 2000. He was a licensed private and commercial pilot. Gary was employed with Los Alamos County Information Technology Division as a Public Safety Systems Manager since October 2002. He was a longtime member of The Flying Samaritans, The Musketeer Club, Beech Aero Club and the AOPA Pilot. Gary is survived by his loving wife, Liz Cavasos; daughter, Ashley Cavasos; son, Shawn Cavasos and wife Leigha; brother, David Morales; daughter, Shannon Balok; in-laws; Charles and Connie Pacheco; sister-in-law, Pat Leister and husband Don; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A Rosary will be recited Monday, July 5, 2010, 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 6, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary followed by a Reception at the Parish Hall. COLE -- Dr. James H. Cole, was born April 11, 1924 in Macedonia, Illinois, and died in Albuquerque, New Mexico on June 28, 2010, at age 86. He was the son of the late, Otto and Martha Cole. He grew up in Hammond, Indiana, where he attended both grade and high school. Upon graduation from eighth grade he received the American Legion School award of scholarship and leadership, and subsequently was elected President of the Hammond High School student government. During WWII he enlisted in the Navy, receiving training at Great Lakes, the Universities of Wisconsin, Texas A&M, and communication facilities in Cheltenham, MD. His overseas duty was with Joint Combat Communication on Guam and after war's end he led a Navy communication team, attached to a Marine unit, in the possession and occupation of Truk, a Caroline Island in the Pacific. Following his discharge in 1946 he married Wilma Anderson of Hammond, Indiana, and they raised two children, Sheri Cole Heying and Cyndi Cole Johnson, wife of Wayne D. Johnson, now residing in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1953 he completed a bachelor's degree at Eastern Illinois University majoring in Biology. During that time he was a member and President of Kappa Sigma Kappa social fraternity, a member of Kappa Delta Pi and Theta Alpha Phi, national honorary scholastic and honorary dramatic fraternities. In 1955 he earned a Master of Science and in 1964 a Doctorate in systems Technology from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Dr. Cole's career included serving as Science and Media Supervisor for the Lake County Indiana public schools, as an executive with the American Book Company, New York City, 7 years as a faculty member and Supervisor of Field Services at Indiana University, and more recently retiring after 21 years as Dean, College of Communication and Computer Science at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. During that time his daughter, Cyndi, earned a B.S. in Computer Science which was presented at graduation by her father. In 1976 he married Alberta Nelson, of DuBois, PA and after retirement they traveled extensively, then moved to Hartwell, GA, in June of 2000. In July of 2007, he and his wife moved to Albuquerque, NM. During his career he served as a deacon in the First Baptist Church, Bloomington, IN, a member of the First Methodist Church, Brookville, PA, and was active in many local, state and national organizations. He held a private pilot and ham radio operator's licenses, was a tournament racquetball player, and avid fisherman. In 1976 he received the L.C. Larson Leadership in Instructional Technology Award from Indiana University and in 1994 was designated by Clarion University as Dean Emeritus and was given the Alumni Association Distinguished Service Award. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife; two daughters; four grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; one brother; many nephews, nieces and their children. COLLIER -- William (Bill) Dickason Collier, passed away June 25, 2010. Bill was born in Okemah, Okla. September 15,1923. After serving in WWII in the Army Air Corp, Bill joined the Air Force Special Weapons Center at Kirtland Air Force Base, where he worked for 30 years as a Mechanical Engineer. Bill was a National Bridge Director and Teacher. In addition to Bridge, Bill loved to sew, read, and take care of his Westhighland White Terriers. Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Betty June Collier. Bill and Betty moved to Houston in 2007 after spending most of their life in Albuquerque. Bill is survived by their daughter Candace Collier and her husband Gary C. Freeman, MD, Houston, Texas.

CROWNOVER -- Kathleen Allen Crownover passed away on June 12, 2010. She was born in Mount Vernon, Ohio on January 16, 1916. Kathleen and her family moved to Albuquerque in 1948. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lane Crownover. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Thibert and husband, Paul of Rockville Connecticut, and Kristi Smaby and husband Steve of Salinas, California; she shared her love with four grandchildren, Melissa Mayberry, Joan Kachiros, Michael Thibert, and Robert Thibert; her nephew, Joseph Sedelmaier; and her "adopted Albuquerque kids," Merri Rudd and husband Mark Hinton. . She was also blessed with four great grandsons, Drew, Eric, Sam and Ben. Kathleen worked in the medical field most of her career. In the late sixties, she joined forces with other women and lobbied to have all newborns tested for PKU, which became a state law. She volunteered with the Girl Scouts of America, and was a dedicated member of the American Legion Auxiliary, where she served as state president. The family wishes to thank Heartland Hospice in Monterey, California for the care and kindness extended to Kathleen during the past five months. A celebration of Kathleen's life will be held on Friday, July 9, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church 215 Locust N.E. Albuquerque. A private interment will be held at a later time.

FIERRO -- Cesario and Mario. Cesario "Sid" Fierro was born August 27, 1949 and Mario O. Fierro was born September 17, 1957, both in Kermit, TX. Cesario Fierro died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 and Mario Fierro died Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Both were surrounded by family and friends. Both brothers are preceded in death by their parents, Cecilio and Eufemia Fierro; and brother, Cecilio Ferraro, Jr. They are survived by their brother, Oscar Fierro; sisters, Elva Madrid and Bonnie Morales; niece, Bernicia Dominguez; as well as other nieces, nephews, and other family and friends who loved and will miss them. Cesario was dedicated to New Mexico AIDS Services Food Bank, participating in many fundraising events. Above all, Cesario was dedicated to his brother, Mario. Cesario was a proud member of The United Court of the Sandias, and he loved the Denver Broncos. Mario lived for the Dallas Cowboys. A great day at home was when Denver and Dallas played. Services will be held in Albuquerque for friends and loved ones at the First Congregational Unitarian Church, Lomas and Girard, on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. Please come as you are to the Services. GALLUCCIO -- Frances Galluccio, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, surrounded by her daughter, Sandy, her son in law, Bill, her grandson, Tim, friend Alicia and her loving caregivers and Hospice nurse and Hospice chaplain. She was born in Yarmouth, Maine on Christmas day in 1915. She is the daughter of the late Beatrice and Fred Carter. She lived in Maine until she went to nursing school in the Bronx, NY where she met her future husband, Joe. Through this loving union their daughter Sandra was born. The family moved to Coral Gables, FL. in 1952, and Frances lived in her beloved little home on Majorca Ave. for 47years. In 1999, Frances moved to Albuquerque, NM in order to be closer to her daughter's family. Frances was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Galluccio. She is survived by daughter Sandy and her husband Bill; her grandson Tim and his wife Amanda of Albuquerque; and by grandson A.J. and his wife Kelli, and their daughter, Samantha, of Castle Rock, CO. Frances loved being close to her daughter, son-in-law and grandsons and the many friends she had in Albuquerque. She was a loving Mother, grandmother, and a generous friend to all with her beautiful smile, blue eyes and everlasting spirit. Truly a beautiful woman who will be missed by all, friend or stranger. The family would like to thank the caregivers when she was at The Cottages, especially the aides and nurses. A Special thank you to Blanca and Huberto Gasson, their children, their doggies who slept with Gram, and the aides where she lived the last year and a half. GONZALES -- Victor Gonzales died peacefully on June 25, 2010 at Loma Linda, California. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Benita; his son and his wife, Victor and Jan Gonzales of Victorville, CA; his brother, Mike Dimas of Poplar, MT; two sisters, Teresa Madrid and Irene Tellez of Gallup, NM; his grandchildren, Todd, Jennifer, Mary, Shannon, and Santiago of Victorville, CA, and Shaun from Washington, DC. Victor is also survived by one great-grandchild, Riley Ann, many loving nephews and nieces, and five godchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Victor Guindazola Gonzales, his mother, Amelia Silva Trent, his son, Greg, and his sisters, Bernice and Erlinda. Victor was inducted into the United States Army during WWII from July, 1943 to December, 1945. He served in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He was a life member of VFW Post 401 and a charter member of American G.I. Forum, Albuquerque Chapter #1. Victor taught Social Studies in Los Lunas, NM and El Rancho High School in California. During the mid 1960s Victor served in the New Mexico Legislature. After retirement he worked part time at Sandia Casino and McGinnis Driving School. Victor never met anyone he didn't like. He enjoyed golfing, dancing and working in the yard; he loved to be complimented on his beautiful yard. Victor even taught his wife to golf. He is waiting for you golfers with his new driver! GRODNER -- Milton David Grodner passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, surrounded by his family. He was born in New York City on November 4, 1911, the son of the late Albert and Kate Grodner. Milt was the beloved husband of the late Ceil Silverman Grodner; father of sons, Brian and wife Jean, Richard and wife Irene, and Robert and wife Patty, all of Albuquerque; and daughters, Lauren Babus and husband Lowell of Mahwah, NJ, and Terri Mendoza of Framingham, MA; grandfather of Jamie and husband Johnny, Nicki and husband Daniel, Shana, Jeanne Marie and husband George, Corey, Kelsey, Alex and Jonathan; great-grandfather of Nadia, Mason, Gavin, Shelby, George and Lorenzo. He was preceded in death by his brother Irving Grodner; and his grandsons, Jason and Jeremy. Milt graduated from Peter Stuyvesant High School, New York University and University of Buffalo School of Dentistry. In World War II, he was a Captain in the Army Dental Corps, serving as the Chief Dental Officer at a station hospital in India. After World War II, he and Ceil settled in Mount Vernon, NY, where he practiced dentistry until his retirement. Milt and Ceil moved to New Mexico in 1979 where they continued to be active in civic, cultural and Jewish organizations. He achieved Founder status in Hadassah and was a long-time member of Congregation B'nai Israel. Milt was instrumental in establishing the Bear Canyon Senior Center and served on its Board. He was also Vice President of the City of Albuquerque Department of Senior Affairs Advisory Council. Milt enjoyed a wide variety of activities and interests including photography, fly fishing and golf. Milt always said that the best decision he ever made was to marry Ceil and they enjoyed over 60 wonderful years together. He was a kind, warm, and gentle man who will be missed by all who loved and knew him. The funeral service was held at French-Wyoming Chapel on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 12:00 noon with interment that followed at Fairview Memorial Park. Shiva will be observed at a family member's home. Dr. Harris practiced psychiatric medicine in Albuquerque and was also a licensed attorney in the state of New Mexico. He attended Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg, Pa.; Rice University in Houston, Texas; and Stanford University. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Stanford University in 1972, where he specialized in psychiatric medicine, and his law degree from the University of New Mexico in 1993. HOLMEN -- Maurice Oscar "Mo" Holmen filed his Final Flight Plan on June 27, 2010 for a one-way trip to heaven to see his Lord, filling a reservation he made at age 15. For a short while after leukemia diagnosis in May, he sat on the airport runway, engines idling, waiting for a God-given green light to take off. Born July 9, 1922 in Upsala, Minnesota to Oscar and Myrtle Strom Holmen, he was raised in Tucson, Arizona. Entering U. S. Army Air Corps in 1943, he transferred to Kirtland Field in Albuquerque to fly B-24 bombers, where he met his future bride, Mildred Berniece "Bee" Byrd at Central Methodist Church. Commanding a 9-man crew with the 8th Air Force out of England, he flew 35 combat missions over Germany, returning to marry his beloved in 1945. Then two more years of service as air installations officer at Indian Springs AFB during Korean War. He resigned from USAF Reserve after 14 years service. Completing his education at UNM, he entered the heating/air conditioning industry and became major stockholder of local Anderson Air Corps. Retiring in 1985, he and Bee spent some 25 years exploring the USA in an RV and 10 European countries by train. Mo was a Bible teacher most of his life, was a member of countless Christian service groups through the years, his latest as board member of Hosanna's "Faith Comes By Hearing" -- they provide audio Bibles to non-readers in foreign countries and to our Service men. Mo and Bee are members of Northdale Baptist Church. On May 30 a family party celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Mo's legacy is seven children: Dale and wife Martha, Mark and wife Mary Ellen, Kay and husband Ed Girdner, Ross and wife Sandee, Lyle and wife Sherry, and Glen and wife Alejandra, all living in Albuquerque; foster daughter Louise and husband Jack James live in Boise, Idaho; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; and 11 foster grandkids complete a great family!; Mo's brother Milton lives in California. Many other relatives and friends will miss him. Mo's children will conduct his Memorial services next Tuesday afternoon, July 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Chapel, 4001 Osuna NE. JOWERS -- Lydia P. Jowers, a resident of Albuquerque since 1960, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 1, 2010. She is survived by her four daughters, Brenda Brent (Andy), Sandra Larrichio (Don), Debbie Meyer (Tom) and Lydia Brazfield; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. Lydia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years Joseph J. Jowers, Jr. and her son, Joseph J. Jowers, III. She was a dynamic woman who owned and operated her own clothing store, Lydee's Fashions, for thirty years. Lydia also co-owned National Office Supply with her husband. She was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where she graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a degree in Education. Lydia was an inspiration to her daughters and their families, and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. MCCRARY -- Peggy Powers Willett McCrary, 82, passed away Friday July 2, 2010 in Odessa at Medical Center Hospital. Peggy was born to Homer Patrick Powers, Jr. and Vera Glass Powers on January 15, 1928 in San Antonio, TX. She grew up and graduated from high school in Gallup, NM and attended the University of New Mexico where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She received her degree in advertising from the University of Denver. Peggy was married to Arthur Edwin Willett in 1949 and lived in Albuquerque, NM. Mr. Willett died in 1962. She married Herbert Glenn McCrary in 1965 and they moved to El Paso, TX then to Carlsbad, NM and then to Odessa in 1979. She enjoyed a very happy, active life here as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, small business owner, bowler and golfer. She loved barbershop singing and liked writing poetry and songs and letters to the newspaper and attending the Northside Senior Center. She is survived by her spouse, Herbert McCrary from Odessa; Children, Brian Patrick Willett, from Odessa, Dr. Anita Paiz Gomez and husband Ruben from Santa Fe, NM, Charles Allen Willett and wife Melinda from Midland, TX, Dr. Michael Wayne McCrary and wife Tracie from Ft. Worth, TX; eight grandchildren: Nathan Andrew Reams, Ricardo Miguel Paiz, Pablo Alfredo Paiz, Emily Catalina Herrera, Katie Nicole Willett, Colten Christopher Willett, Sean Michael McCrary and Christopher Michael McCrary; one great grandchild, Jordan Herrera Memorial service will be announced at a later date. NICKOLDS -- Edward Costillo Nickolds, 81, died peacefully at his home in Escondido, CA, on April 9, 2010. Beloved husband of the late Connie Frances Nickolds. Loving stepfather of Henry Simpson, Edward Simpson, and the late Francie Guiles. Devoted step father-in-law of David Guiles and Kelly Simpson. Devoted uncle of Jean Simmons and Judy Scisson. Born in and longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM. Served in the U.S. Army in Korea, 1950-52. Was an offset press operator with the Defense Nuclear Agency for over 25 years. He loved the outdoors and was an avid reader of science fiction and Louis L'Amour frontier fiction. He loved and deeply cared for Connie, inspired Henry for a life in science, was a faithful friend to Francie, and instilled Edward with a wonder of nature. He was a true inspiration and joy to his many friends. He had a great sense of humor and an eternal zest for life, and he was a big fan of the phrase "to each his own". RIVERA -- Eloisa Gomez Rivera, 80, passed away June 19, 2010. She was born in San Antonio, NM on September 20, 1929 to parents, Lorenzo Gomez and Ann Maria Gutierrez. Eloisa married Tony Rivera on September 29, 1951. Eloisa moved to California in 1954, worked at Kaiser Hospital in Bellflower. ROBERTSON -- Dorotha "Dee" Landon Robertson, 88, affectionately known as Grandma Goose passed away on July 1, 2010. She was born on June 14, 1922 in Stanley, NM. She is survived by her three children, Ed Robertson and wife, Joyce of Albuquerque; Marilyn Loya and husband, Sam of Albuquerque and Diana Pandolfo and husband, Michael of Edgewood; grandsons, Greg Robertson of Santa Fe, and fiancee, Lara Sanchez, Brian Robertson of Los Angeles, CA, Justin Loya of Los Lunas, NM and fiancee, Angelina Maldonado, and Michael Pandolfo II of Edgewood; and two great grandsons, Payson and Elijah. She also has many devoted nieces and nephews as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews who fondly knew her as "Pretty Aunt Dee." She was preceded in death by parents, Joe and Nannie Landon; sister Iva Fronabarger; son Kenneth in 1970; and her husband Robert (Bob) in 1991. Dee worked in her family's Landon General Store until she graduated from Stanley High School in 1940. She was one of only three in her graduating class and often commented on how easy it was to arrange her class reunions. After graduation, she attended Business College in Santa Fe and worked at the Old Mexico Shop. She and Bob were married in 1946 and subsequently moved from Stanley to Albuquerque. While being a dedicated mother she held positions at Chapman, Wood and Griswold, Mining Engineers and Geologists and later at Southwest Insulbead. Dee also supported her husband Bob in running EdKen Oil Company located on South Broadway in Albuquerque. Dee was always very supportive of her children and grandchildren and their interests and as such attended many rodeos, baseball games, plays and art openings. Dee's greatest joy was derived from her children and grandchildren for whom her love was unbounded. Visitation will be at French, Lomas location Monday, July 5, 2010, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Services will be held Tuesday, July 6, 2010, 9:00 a.m., at French, Lomas Chapel, with interment to follow at the Robertson Family Plot at Stanley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Robertson, Brian Robertson, Justin Loya, Michael Pandolfo II, Sam Loya and Glen Haddock; Honorary pallbearers will be George Robertson, Dan Sowle, Jerry Fronabarger, Scott Sowle, Mark Sowle, Robert Moix, Steve Scott, Daniel Scott, Michael Pandolfo, Bill Shields and Garen Lott. RUVOLO -- Ute Ruvolo, 71, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM since 1977, passed away, Wednesday, June 30, 2010. She is survived by her four children, Sandra Gray and husband Michael, Joyce Fafard and husband Mark, all of Rio Rancho, NM, Richard Gray of Colorado Springs, CO, Andre Ruvolo of Rio Rancho, NM; 11 Grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Elke Harksen-Porschke and husband Gunther of Karlsruhe, Germany, Heike Harksen-Schmidt of Husum, Germany. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Ruvolo in 2007. Ute was an avid swimmer and maintained her youth both in attitude and appearance. SILVERI -- Italo "Rocky" Giuseppe Silveri, 88, made his transition on June 28, 2010. Rocky, born and raised in NH, served in WWII and the Korean Conflict and retired honorably from the U.S. Air Force. After retirement, he worked for UNM and the US government. A voracious reader and self-educator, there was little Rocky could not discuss, fix, or create. He outfitted a van and enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors. Rocky, a gentle soul, wrote songs and poetry, and loved to play his guitar and harmonica. He was a gifted story-teller and his memories were shared with all who would listen. His love of nature and his country were second only to his love of family. Rocky is survived by his wife, Mary; his daughters, Laura, Janis, and JoAnn; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his brothers, Dante and Marco; and his best friend, Jim Nichol. Rocky requested not to have a memorial service. However, the next time you see a Hummingbird or Robin, or hear a Bobwhite or Cardinal, please remember Rocky--he will be there with you.

THRASHER -- CLYDE THRASHER JR. - Clyde Thrasher Jr, 87, died, went to be with his beloved Bobbie June 30, 2010. He passed away at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is survived by his two daughters: Beverly Davis and husband Jim and Pamela Thrasher and partner Vicki Sanchez; two granddaughters; Danette Tafoya and husband Richard and DeAnna Ferguson and husband Steve; two great-grandsons: Shawn Tafoya and wife Dimple and Patrick Tafoya and wife Chris; three great-grandchildren: Simran, Arjan and Lily Tafoya and Emma Guillory; nephews: Don and wife Dorothy, Darrell and wife Jeannie, David and wife Ruth, and Dean and wife Becky. WADE -- Robert (Bob) L. Wade - 58, a lifelong resident of Albuq. died in a tragic boating accident on Elephant Butte Lake June 22, 2010. Bob is survived by his wife of 33 years Vicky; daughter Selina Wade; son Robert (Bobby) L. Wade II; grandsons, Kiefer Wade and Cash Hankner; mother Adelina Panebouef Wade; and brother Richard Wade. Bob had a generous spirit and an amazing work ethic. He lived for his family and loved his friends. Bob enjoyed boating, camping, riding his motorcycle, watering his lawn and relaxing at home with Vicky and Kiefer. He worked as a meat cutter for Albertsons and Raleys for over 35 years. Everyone who knew Bob admired something about him. He will forever be missed. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 5, 2010 at Sagebrush Community Church 6440 Coors Blvd. NW 87120. Immediately following the service a reception will be held at Plumbers & Steam Fitters Local 412 at 510 San Pedro Dr. SE 87108. WHITMORE -- Victor Whitmore, age 53, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born in Roswell on October 20, 1956, the son of the late Walter E. Whitmore, Jr. and Ellen Whitmore. Victor is survived by his loving sons Jonathan Whitmore, Daniel Whitmore, and Jackson Whitmore of Albuquerque; his mother Ellen Whitmore of Roswell; brothers Karl Whitmore of Albuquerque and Wayne Whitmore of Las Vegas, NV; and, many nieces and nephews. He graduated from NMMI in 1975 for High School and 1977 for Junior College. He received his Bachelors degree in Finance and Real Estate from NMSU in 1982. He was a businessman and Real Estate entrepreneur in Albuquerque. Victor was an avid outdoorsmen who enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. Over the years he enjoyed sharing the outdoors with his sons, family, and friends. He was a supporter of Ducks Unlimited and was a member of the Lions Club. On Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 3:00 PM a memorial service will be held at Direct Funeral Services at 2919 4th St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107. Interment is planned for a later date to celebrate his life.
