GONDEK -- Robert John Gondek, aged 65, a resident of New Mexico for 37 years, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2007. He was born on October 17, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY. Robert is survived by his wife, Carolyn A. Gondek; son, Robert Joshua Goodson-Gondek, step-daughters, Jerri Kinney and husband, Bartley and Melissa Johnson and husband, Douglas; grandsons, Joseph and Christopher Kinney; cousin, John Oreszczyn of Albuquerque; and by his devoted pugs, Blackjack and Bandit. He attended St. Anthony of Padua Minor Seminary and Preparatory School, Watkins Glen, NY and graduated in 1959, Nova Scotia Technical University, and graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering, he graduated in 1985 from Nova Scotia Technical College with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering in association with St. Dunstan's University in Hallifax. Robert was a veteran of the Army, serving in the Vietnam Era at Ft. Derrick, MD as a staff sergeant. He was employed by the Dept. of Military Affairs Army National Guard of Santa Fe, NM as an environmental Engineer for 16 years. In 1998, he won the top award, "The Minute Man", in the country for his outstanding performance as an Environmental Specialist. Robert was a member of John XXIII Catholic Community, honorary member of Knights of Columbus, JFK Council No. 5729, honorary member and past president of the Albuquerque Garden Center Cactus Club. Robert was also an avid toy and antique collector for 35 years. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 14, 2007, 2:00 p.m., at John XXIII Catholic Community, 4831 Tramway Ridge Dr. NE, with Father Charles Dougherty, Celebrant. GREEN -- Kurt Green of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away suddenly at De Sol Hospital in El Paso, Texas on Wednesday, August 1, at age 42. Kurt, a 1983 graduate of Hanks High School, was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on May 12, 1965 and during his childhood, lived in Iowa, Georgia, Texas, Colorado, North Carolina, Korea, California and Germany. Kurt lived in Albuquerque the last twenty years and was employed as a plumber and later dispatcher at TLC Plumbing. Kurt was united in marriage with Marylee Thompson on September 9, 2000 in Albuquerque. Kurt and Marylee made their home in Rio Rancho, New Mexico and later in Albuquerque. Kurt and Marylee we avid campers in the Jemez Mountains going almost every weekend and sometimes even going in the winter. Earlier this year Marylee became terminally ill and required around-the-clock care, a burden Kurt willingly accepted by leaving gainful employment to be with Marylee continuously. On July 31 of this year Kurt brought Marylee to the home of his parents, Gene and Heide Green of El Paso, so that Kurt could get some rest. Over night Kurt became ill and suffered a massive heart attack midmorning on Wednesday. Although emergency personnel and doctors did everything they could, Kurt lost his struggle to remain in this earthly life and went to prepare a place for his wife to join him in heaven. Kurt is survived by his wife Marylee; parents Gene and Heide Green of El Paso; brothers Eric Green and wife Diana; Aaron Green and wife Sheila, all of Albuquerque; sister Sabine Senear and Jeff of Osseo, Minnesota; six nieces, five nephews, on grandniece and one grandnephew. Sunset Funeral Home East is in charge of arrangements in El Paso and French Mortuary Westside Chapel is in charge of arrangements in Albuquerque. Kurt's remains have been cremated and interment will occur at a later date. GUTIERREZ -- Filomeno Gutierrez, age 80, went to be with the Lord Thursday, August 9, 2007. He was born August 31, 1926 in Chilili, NM to Donacio and Juanita Gutierrez. Filomeno was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Rita Gutierrez and he is survived by his wife of 60 years, Cecilia Gutierrez; his daughter, Doris F. Vigil and husband, Ernest; two sons, H. Leo Gutierrez and wife, Sylvia and Filomeno Gutierrez Jr; his grandchildren, Jeremy Vigil, Ernest Vigil Jr. and wife, Jennifer, and Sara Gutierrez; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Jazmin Vigil; one sister, Teresita Gutierrez; one brother, Rosindo Gutierrez; other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Filomeno is best remembered for his selfless devotion to his family and his faith. He was an outstanding husband, father and grandfather and he will be missed greatly. Services will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church, 4th and Mildred NW. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, August 12, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 13, 2007 at 8:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery on Barton Road in Edgewood, NM. JORDAN -- JEFFREY DAVID, age 51, of Los Lunas, NM passed away August 10, 2007. He was born in Portales NM, December 31, 1955 to Paris (Doty) and Jo Nelle Jordan. He is survived by his parents; his five year old son, Jeffrey Dylan Jordan; two sisters, Jo R. Thwaits and husband Dennis of Silver City, NM; Janna S. Garcia and husband, Mike of Los Lunas, NM; three brothers, James W. Jordan and wife Cathy of Albuquerque, NM; Jack R. Jordan of Rosamond, CA; and Jon K. Jordan and wife, Tracy, of Missoula, Montana; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Jeffrey served in the US Air Force for six years and was a graduate of UNM, and a Master Carpenter. Cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday August 15, 2007. KING -- BRUCE FRANCIS Colonel Bruce Francis King, USAF Retired, born in Solon, OH on April 15, 1925, passed suddenly at Riverside Hospital in Riverside, CA on July 30, 2007. He was a longtime member of Ballut Abyad Shrine and a member of the Royal Order of Jesters. He served 37 years and 2 days in the United States Air Force with distinction and merit, while on flight status, in weapons management, the air warfare college and research and development command before retiring at Kirtland AFB. Two years ago, Bruce and Lousie moved to Riverside, CA to take up residence at Air Force Village West. He is survived by his wife, Louise Sage King; their daughter, Amy King Barbee and her husband, Michael; and two granddaughters, Alexandra and Samantha of Tucson, AZ; their son, Robert Bruce King and his wife, Elizabeth of Santa Fe, NM. Memorial contributions may be made to Ballud Abyad Temple, 6600 Zuni SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108. Burial will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on August 17, 2007 at 10 a.m.

LASSMAN -- Shirley Ann Lassman passed away peacefully in her home in Tijeras, NM on August 7, 2007 surrounded by her loving family and husband of 65 years. She was born in Humboldt, KS in 1922 and married Gene Lassman in 1942. Shirley devoted her life to caring for her family and spending time with friends. She had a special place in her heart for all animals and especially enjoyed watching her hummingbirds. She is survived by her husband, three daughters and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and longtime friends. There will be a celebration of her life on September 22, 2007 in Tijeras.
