GREEN -- Kurt Green of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away suddenly at De Sol Hospital in El Paso, Texas on Wednesday, August 1, at age 42. Kurt, a 1983 graduate of Hanks High School, was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on May 12, 1965 and during his childhood, lived in Iowa, Georgia, Texas, Colorado, North Carolina, Korea, California and Germany. Kurt lived in Albuquerque the last twenty years and was employed as a plumber and later dispatcher at TLC Plumbing. Kurt was united in marriage with Marylee Thompson on September 9, 2000 in Albuquerque. Kurt and Marylee made their home in Rio Rancho, New Mexico and later in Albuquerque. Kurt and Marylee we avid campers in the Jemez Mountains going almost every weekend and sometimes even going in the winter. Earlier this year Marylee became terminally ill and required around-the-clock care, a burden Kurt willingly accepted by leaving gainful employment to be with Marylee continuously. On July 31 of this year Kurt brought Marylee to the home of his parents, Gene and Heide Green of El Paso, so that Kurt could get some rest. Over night Kurt became ill and suffered a massive heart attack midmorning on Wednesday. Although emergency personnel and doctors did everything they could, Kurt lost his struggle to remain in this earthly life and went to prepare a place for his wife to join him in heaven. Kurt is survived by his wife Marylee; parents Gene and Heide Green of El Paso; brothers Eric Green and wife Diana; Aaron Green and wife Sheila, all of Albuquerque; sister Sabine Senear and Jeff of Osseo, Minnesota; six nieces, five nephews, on grandniece and one grandnephew. Sunset Funeral Home East is in charge of arrangements in El Paso and French Mortuary Westside Chapel is in charge of arrangements in Albuquerque. Kurt's remains have been cremated and interment will occur at a later date.
