RISBERG -- Lorraine I. Risberg, 63, of Albuquerque, died on Friday August 3, 2007, after gracefully battling Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Los Angeles, CA on January 9, 1944 Phil and Mary Lennon. She is survived by her husband, Gerald Risberg; her two daughters, Debbie Risberg and Tracy McFadden and her husband, Scott ; one grandson, Kellan McFadden; and brother, Larry Lennon and his wife, Kathy. Lorraine was a great cook and liked to sew and knit. She worked for the Phillips Lab until Alzheimer's kept her from doing so. She was the best mom and the kindest soul. She will be missed dearly by everyone who knew her. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday August 9, 2007 at Aspen Funeral Chapel, 1935 Juan Tabo Blvd. NE. STEINKAMP -- Helen Lucille Steinkamp, 84 of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Albuquerque, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2007 in Bradenton; FL. Mrs. Steinkamp was born on August 28, 1922 in Murray, NE. She was a resident of Albuquerque from 1959 until March of 2007 when she and her husband moved to Sarasota, Fl. Mrs. Steinkamp was retired from the Peat Marwick Mitchell Company in Albuquerque with over 20 years of service. She was attended the Hoffman Town Baptist Church and was an avid square dancer in Albuquerque. Survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, William F. Steinkamp of Sarasota, FL; son, William L. (Natalie) Steinkamp of Tyler, TX; daughter, Diane (Henry J.) Gustafson of Bradenton, FL; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild. BLACK -- Jennie J. Black, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1963 died Friday, August 3, 2007. She leaves behind to honor and celebrate her life her three daughters, Lois Hughes and husband, Robert of Albuquerque, Marilynn Burke and husband, Henry, of Omaha, NE and Karen Fisher of Albuquerque; six grandchildren, Robyn, Heather, Brian, Meredith, David and Daniel; eight great-grandchildren, Zachary, Joshua, Levi, Wyatt, Katie, Wade, Lane, and Sarabeth; and one brother, Stanley Kanz of WI. Jennie was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Earl Black; her parents, Ida and John Kanz; and brother, Alden Kanz. She was born on June 23, 1922 in Shawano, WI. Jennie was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She served as a volunteer for the Sun City Sheriff's Posse for 12 years. Jennie was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place on Friday, August 10, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3715 Silver, SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108. BLACKBURN -- Phillip Alan Blackburn, age 57, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, left his loving family and friends after a prolonged illness, on Saturday, August 4, 2007. He proudly served his country and was a decorated Vietnam veteran. Phillip loved to travel and was a fine story-teller. Phillip is survived by his loving wife, Jean Ellett Blackburn; son, Ian and his wife, Stefanie; mother, Marjorie Blackburn; two brothers, Charles and John and his wife, Vicki; granddaughters, Madison and Brittany; and mother-in-law, Jean Ellett Pettingell. A Memorial Service will be held at Belen Christian Church, on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Don DuBerry presiding. BODENWEISER -- Lewis Everett Bodenweiser died at home on July 26, 2007. He had been in ill health since last fall, but was alert and maintained his sense of humor. He was born on October 21, 1911, in East Orange, NJ. He is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Jane and Art McEldowney, Jeff and Jane Bodenweiser, and Laurie and Gordon Hain, Salem, OR; twin sons, Kirby and Lynn, Albuquerque and Kirk and Melinda, Tampa, FL; Donald and Elizabeth, Waseca, MN; and Carol's children, Susan Young, Albuquerque and Marc and Kathy Young, Norwalk, CT. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many treasured friends. Lewis and Carol Spence married June 19, 1985, celebrating 22 years of marriage this year. Lewis enjoyed golfing with his friends, going to the health club, walking, and visits from his family. Lewis never lost his love for life. He will be missed by all. He received his doctorate degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Guelph (Canada) and married Margaret Tucker. They moved to St. Louis in 1940, where he worked for LeGear Medical prior to setting up practice in Webster Groves and Des Peres, MO. In 1950, he moved his practice to Washington, MO where he practiced until 1955 when he moved to Salem, OR to accept a position as a veterinarian with the Department of Agriculture. He eventually became the State veterinarian. In 1962, he was appointed Director of the Sheep Sanitary Board in Albuquerque, NM, and later opened the Thunderbird Animal Clinic. Lewis and Margaret were divorced in 1963. Lewis and Mary Annis were married and their son, Donald was born in 1966. They lived in California where Lewis worked as a meat inspector for the federal government before returning to Albuquerque. Mary died in 1983. A Memorial Service for Lewis will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, 2007, at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 9315 Candelaria NE, Albuquerque, NM. Remembrances may be made to Zia Hospice or to the charity of your choice.

DE MONTMOLLIN -- Nina May Snead de Montmollin, 87, artist, staunch Democrat, die-hard Bronco fan and lover of life, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2007. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, James M. of Albuquerque; daughters, Linda McCowen and husband, David, Merrie Blue and husband, David and Michele Salazar and husband, John; and ten grandchildren. She was recently preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy de Montmollin. Nina was born in Greenwood, SC on November 26, 1920. She graduated from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA in 1940. After marrying Jim in 1943, they settled near Atlanta, GA. Jim was recalled into the Army in 1950, and she followed him, with her young children Kathy and Linda, to Worms, Germany. They lived there for eight months, which gave them the opportunity to travel to many European countries and sparked their interest in travel in later years. Upon returning to the US, they moved to Albuquerque, where Merrie and Michele, their other two children, were born. Nina and Jim traveled extensively through the years in Europe, Korea, Guatemala and other locations. Nina enjoyed playing golf for many years, and was an accomplished watercolor landscape artist. She learned to downhill ski at 42 and continued until she was 77. She enjoyed summers and skiing at Crested Butte, CO and spent considerable time there with her family and getting to know the older generation of miners. Nina also had a great interest in Democratic Party activities, and served as a delegate to two National Party Conventions. She was appointed by the Governor to the Museum of NM Board of Regents, the Governor's Interagency/Public Advisory Council for Children and Youth, and the NM Advisory Council on Libraries. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 10, 2007, 11:00 a.m., at La Mesa Presbyterian Church, 7401 Copper Ave NE. FASULO -- Margaret "Maggie" Fasulo passed away unexpectedly on August 4, 2007. She was born August 8, 1939 in Edinburgh, Scotland to Alexander and Jean Roy. Maggie is survived by Joe, her husband of 45 years; daughter, Jeanne Drennan and husband, Steve; daughter, Audra Fasulo; son, Anthony Fasulo and wife, Christy; grandchildren, Dominick, Elizabeth, Eric, Kaitlyn, Kyle, Matthew, Francesca, Amanda, Adam, and Lukas. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Christian Fellowship Church, 3901 Claremont Ave. NE. GARCIA-SYVERSON -- BettyAnn Garcia-Syverson, 65, passed away peacefully in her home on July 14, 2007 surrounded by her family. BettyAnn was formerly of Belen and was living in Albuquerque. BettyAnn was a member of the 1959 graduating class at Belen High School, although she graduated with the class of 1958. She went on to earn Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Fine Arts/ Music, a Masters Degree in Special Education/Gifted and a Doctorate Degree in Educational Foundations from the University of New Mexico. She was an accomplished concert pianist, playing many concerts in Keller Hall at the University of New Mexico. BettyAnn also played the organ at Our Lady of Belen Church for masses, weddings and funerals while a student at St. Marys and Belen High School and for many years taught private piano lessons. For 19 years, she was a Special Education teacher at Ernie Pyle Mid School and Del Norte High School in Albuquerque. BettyAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Triny Garcia. She is survived by her husband, Peter; her three children: sons, Peter Jr. and Jon (and wife, Margaret) daughter, Erika Croft; and grandson, Greg Syverson. Her brother, Gilbert Garcia (and wife, Lorraine) of Belen; and sister, Cathy Chavez (and husband, Joseph) formerly of Belen, now living in San Jose, CA also survive her. Survivors also include three nephews; two nieces; one great-nephew; and two great-nieces. There will be a Rosary at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas NE in Albuquerque at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2007; a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bernadette Church located at 1800 Martha NE (corner of Martha and Indian School - 3 blocks west of Juan Tabo in Albuquerque) on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 9 a.m. followed by interment in at Our Lady of Belen cemetery in Belen at 3 p.m.
