MONTANO -- Lalie Montano, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 18, 2007. Lalie loved the Lord and she always looked beautiful. She was greatly loved and will be truly missed. Lalie is survived by her loving husband of over 50 years, Mike Montano of the family home; five sons, Steve and wife, Melba, Larry and wife, Annette, Richard, Hans and wife, Betty, Michael and wife, Cindy; three daughters, Julia and husband, Chris, Patty and her late husband, Art, and Rosalie; 30 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. ORTEGA -- Orlando Ortega, 65, beloved husband, father, brother, and uncle, was taken from this earth suddenly on Sunday, September 16, 2007. Born in Las Vegas, NM, he was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Tillie Ortega; along with his brothers, Joe Ortega and Robert (Bobby) Ortega. Orlando is survived by his wife, Lila; son, Paul and Megan; brothers and sisters, Carmen Lowe, Lawrence and June Ortega, Wilfred Ortega, Dorothy Correa, Theresa and Al Bustamante; sister-in-law, Marcella Ortega; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews who affectionately know him as "Uncle Goofy." He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and many co-workers, co-retirees, friends, and neighbors. Orlando was a 1961 graduate of Albuquerque High School and attended the University of Albuquerque where he received his degree in Nursing. After 31 years of working as a Registered Nurse at Presbyterian Hospital, Bataan Memorial Hospital and the Veterans Administration Medical Center, he retired in May of 1998. Orlando was an ardent UNM Lobos fan. He was also an avid reader of any and everything printed. He loved to travel, visiting Australia and Europe and made his way through 48 of the 50 states by car. He loved and enjoyed the arts and music of all genres. To his family and friends, he was a source of strength, humor, compassion, wisdom and love. He will be greatly missed. A Celebration of his life, through the music he loved so dearly, will be held on Friday, September 21, 2007, 4:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. RICH -- JOSEPH Funeral Mass for the Honorable Judge Joseph Rich, 77, of Rio Rancho, NM was held on Thursday, August 30, 2007, 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart cathedral in Gallup, NM. The Very Rev. Lawrence O'Keefe will be the Celebrant. Burial took place on Friday, August 31, 2007, 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. A Rosary was recited on Wednesday, August 29, 2007, 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Judge Rich was born on June 8, 1930 and passed away on August 26, 2007 in Rio Rancho, NM. Judge Rich retired from the Bench in 2006. Rich graduated in 1952 from Eastern Kentucky University and later served in the U.S. Army, 25th Division, in Korea. In 1957, he earned a law degree from the University of Cincinnati Law School and was admitted to the Ohio Bar and the Kentucky and New Mexico Bars soon thereafter. He took a brief break from his legal studies and worked as special agent for the FBI in Albuquerque, Hobbs, Farmington and Gallup from 1957 to 1960. But his career with the FBI ended when the agency asked him to leave the area for Chicago. Rich was then married to his late wife, Barbara and was expecting their first child and didn't want to uproot his family. In subsequent years, Rich worked as an assistant district attorney in San Juan and McKinley Counties and opened a private practice in 1975. In 1982, he became the southwest regional chief trial attorney for the risk management division of the Navajo Nation. Rich was then appointed as a McKinley County district judge on October 1, 1988 and was re-elected in November 1990 and 1996. He retired on July 1, 2006. His community involvement includes past stints as Director of both the Gallup-McKinley County Chamber of Commerce and the McKinley County Red Cross, and as President of the McKinley County Bar Association. Judge Rich received his undergraduate degree from Eastern Kentucky University and his law degree from the University of Cincinnati. He is survived by his children: Lauren Rich of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Joseph Rich, Jr. of Farmington, NM, Amy Rich of Albuquerque, NM, Paula Rich Pruitt of Albuquerque, NM and Stephen Rich of Albuquerque, NM; brother: Stephen Rich of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren: Therese Rich of Phoenix, AZ, Joseph Angelo Rich of Farmington, NM, Emily Rich of Farmington, NM, Isabella Rich of Farmington, NM, Chole Pruitt of Albuquerque, NM, Thomas Pruitt, Jr. of Albuquerque, NM, and Cheyanne Rich of Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his wife: Barbara DePauli Rich on August 28, 2001; brothers: Keith Rich and James Allen "Babe" Rich; parents. Pallbearers were Louis and Michael DePauli, Vincent, Guy and Gary Marsh, Tim Adcock, Marc DePauli and Joseph Angelo Rich. Honorary pallbearers were his brother, Stephen Rich, Edward DePauli, Weldon Adcock, Thomas Pruitt, Ron Petranovich, Gary and James Rich. RIVERA -- T. Evangeline Rivera, born December 14, 1931, in Santa Fe, NM, passed away on September 14, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan G. Rivera. She is survived by children: Yvonne and husband, Ron Heinze, Steve and wife, Marie Rivera, James and wife, Ina Rivera, Jerold and Debbie Rivera; grandchildren: Chris and wife, Tara Rivera, Cody, Chaya, David; great-grandchild: Vivian; sister, Barbara Sundby; niece and nephew, Renee and Shane; great-nephew, Damien. STOVER -- James Robert Stover Jr., who was born January 18, 1956 in Moab, UT, went home to rest in peace early Saturday morning, September 15, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Dolores; daughters Jenni Stover of Colorado, Jonni Stover of Colorado, and Jessieray and Neil Ortega of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Anastasia and Lillie Love of Colorado; his mother, Dorothy Stover of Albuquerque; sisters, Janet Stover of Los Lunas, Penny and Steve Miller of Oklahoma, Carolyn and Kenny Fitzsimmons of Oklahoma; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom adored their uncle; also family and friends from near and far. He was preceded in death by his father, James Sr.; brother, Wesley Jay; nephew, Michael Jay; and his grandparents. James was a kind-hearted person who knew a lot about everything. He was a great friend, lover, teacher, son, brother, uncle, grandpa, and father. A loving man. James resided in New Mexico with his wife of 25 years. James graduated from Grants High and ITT Tech, Phoenix, AZ. He worked as a master mechanic in the nuclear industry in Utah and NM. For numerous years, he managed Rio Puerco Chevron, and was previously employed with King Brothers Ranch as a mechanic. He tinkered with just about everything from an early age, and had a passion for re-building classic cars, dune buggies, hover crafts, anything motorized. His latest passion was building mow-glides. He was an avid fisherman, even built his own canoe. From an early age he hunted and currently he was a scout for friends.
