CAMUGLIA -- John C. Camuglia, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1967, peacefully left this earth to be with our Lord on Saturday, December 23, 2006 after a very brief illness. A native of Staten Island, NY, John and his family have owned and operated Tully's Meat Market and Deli since June of 1970. He continued to be active in the business until the time of his death and now his son, Johnny Camuglia will continue his father's tradition of providing Albuquerque with authentic Italian food, in honor of his father. John was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard where he fed the sailors on Ship 252 thus beginning his life of sharing his enthusiasm for good food. He took up golf in 1991, the high-point of which was a hole-in-one in 1996. While golf was a sport he discovered later in his life, John was always an avid sports fan with his loyalties reserved firmly for the NY Yankees and the NY Giants. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jerry; daughter, Joy Ashley and husband, Shawn of Perry, GA; son, Johnny and wife, Melissa of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Savannah, Shane and Brenna Ashley of Perry, GA, Victoria and Sarah Camuglia, both of Albuquerque; brothers, Frank and wife, Jessie of Las Vegas, NV, Joseph and wife, Joyce of Albuquerque; sisters-in-law, Joanne and Joan Camuglia of New York, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Camuglia was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby and Louis. CARPENTER -- Darrel "Carp" E. Carpenter, born May 24, 1916 in Buckhannon, WV, passed on to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 30, 2006. He is survived by his five children: Edward Carpenter and his wife, Jackie of Houghton Lake, MI; Bill Carpenter and his wife, Barbara of Albuquerque, NM; Barbara Baldwin of Pinckney, MI; Darelynn Lesa and her husband, Michael of Auburn, CA; Mark Carpenter, and partner, Jody Hutton of Corrales, NM; grandchildren, Sandra Kuschnerus, Ellen Holthus, Delaine Carpenter, Dana Carpenter, Stephen Baldwin, Andrea Scott, Erika Lesa, Amber Lesa, Jared Lesa, Andrew Lesa, and David Carpenter. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, Auston Balwinski, and twins, Megan and Courtney Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Naomi Carpenter; parents, Hartman and Iva Carpenter; brothers, Lowell and Dana Carpenter; son-in-law, Carlton Baldwin. CHAVEZ -- Nolbert "Ben" Chavez, 70, a resident of Belen, died Monday, January 8, 2007. He is survived by his brother, Rudy L. Chavez and wife, JoAnne of Belen; sister, Florie Chavez and husband, David; sister-in-law, Frances Chavez of Belen; brothers-in-law, Cayetano Padilla of Belen and Sal Artiaga of Florida; many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mr. Chavez was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Ramon and Josefita P. Chavez; brothers, Robert Silverio and Bennie Chavez; sisters, Susan Artiaga and Mary Padilla; sister-in-law, Lorraine Chavez; and great-niece, Francine Renee Sanchez. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and has been attending Mass daily for 49 years. Mr. Chavez would spend most of his day praying daily devotional, novenas and rosary. His favorite pastime was drawing and he had a love for watches. CHAVEZ -- Valentino "Tino" Chavez went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 10, 2007. He was born September 26, 1955. A loving father, he is survived by his son, Samuel "Sam" of Clearwater, FL; his mother, Ramona Chavez; his sister, Gloria and husband, Jerry Robinson who live in Albuquerque and Placitas respectfully; his sister, Linda Whittington who lives in Redondo Beach, CA; Tino's niece, Patricia Whittington whom also lives in Redondo Beach, and nephew, John Martinez whom lives in Orange County, CA. All of his surviving family wishes you to know that Tino has an extended family of numerous close and caring friends in Albuquerque. He was well known and respected for his skill and generosity when repairing the cars of his friends. Tino was a Christian who consistently sought truth in all aspects of his life. He found the meaning of truth in the words and teachings of our Lord and rests joyously and peacefully forevermore. COFFEY -- Jane Ruth Heard Coffey (Mama Doc), of Albuquerque, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, died on January 9, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank. She is survived by her four children, Cheryl Fuller of Ft. Worth, TX, Lisa Marshall and her husband, Bill, of Albuquerque, Laura Banks and her husband, Kevin, of Albuquerque, and Scott Coffey and his wife, Julie, of Jackson, MS; grandchildren, Colin, Lauren, Kate, and Maggie Fuller, Crystal and Ashley Marshall, Nathan Banks, and Liam Coffey. In addition, Jane is survived by her brother, Jack of Midland, TX. Jane was born in Houston, TX on June 24, 1932. She attended McGregor, TX public schools, graduating at age 16 and was accepted to Baylor University, where she attended with Frank. They moved to Albuquerque in 1960, where she devoted her time to raising her family and volunteering for many children's organizations. She was active in Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and was a 3rd grade Sunday school teacher for over 16 years. She and her family were among the founding members of Asbury United Methodist Church, and she remained a supportive member of the church throughout her life. In her later years, she was her grandchildren's most devoted fan, attending as many of their activities as possible. She will be remembered for her devotion to children, her kindness, and her love and dedication to her family. A Memorial Service will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church, 10,000 Candelaria Rd. NE., at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2007. Interment will take place at the family cemetery in Waco, TX. CONNORS -- Kevin Connors, age 54, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2007 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born on November 9, 1952 to Gerard and Joyce Connors in San Luis Obispo, CA. Kevin was an accomplished General Contractor since 1978 in the Albuquerque area and built custom homes throughout Albuquerque. He graduated from Sandia High School in 1971 and later graduated from UNM. Kevin was loved and cherished by so many people and he touched many lives. Kevin kept long lasting relationships with those he grew up with. He enjoyed boats, motorcycles and dirt bikes; he also enjoyed the outdoors and traveling, but most of all he enjoyed people. Kevin is survived by his wife, Debra Connors; his mother, Joyce Connors; his sister, Anne Connors; and a special niece, Ashley Stroup and her husband, Mark. FRAZEE -- Mark Frazee, age 58, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2007. He is survived by his three children, Misty Ann Frazee, Autumn Jenine Frazee, and Brian Anthony Frazee, all of who reside in Albuquerque. In spite of his compromised health conditions beginning at age 19, Mark enjoyed a successful career as a computer systems consultant for Avnet Computer. He also assisted in establishing a Medical R & D Company to pioneer new research to sustain emergency heart, brain and lung function. Mark had a passion for new and exciting enterprises for he and his associates. His most recent was to bring NASCAR excitement to Albuquerque. Mark was born to Joseph and Norma Frazee on April 27, 1948 in Panama while his father was serving active duty in the United States Military. He was the 2nd of four children. Mark is survived by his sister, Karen of Phoenix, AZ; his brother, Chris of Durango, CO; and his sister, Jodi Brown of Albuquerque. He will be greatly missed for his kindness, generosity and his ability to add an interesting perspective to any event or situation. HARTRANFT -- Wilbur John Hartranft, 86, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 after a short illness. Wilbur was born October 29, 1920 the oldest of four children to John and Lulu Groat Hartranft in Battle Creek, MI. He graduated from Lakeview High School in Battle Creek, and entered the service as a naval reserve while still in high school; he was called to active duty in March 1941. During WWII he served in Aleutians; operated landing craft during the invasion of Guadalcanal; served aboard the US Zeilin, at the end of the war, he was stationed at a PT-boat base in the Philippines. On June 21, 1944 he married his lovely bride Iva-Beth Cain in Alameda, CA. Wilbur spent most of his post war years at Grosse Ile Naval Air Station (1952-1962); he was BM 1st Class, operating a "crash" boat for air sea rescue. After retirement from the Navy, he operated a survey boat for U.S. Public Health Services (now EPA) at Grosse Ile in the initial stages of environmental pollution work in the Great Lakes. He took a medical retirement in 1969 and in 1970 moved to Rio Rancho, NM. He and Iva adopted two sons, Michael and John. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus for 60 years, serving as district deputy and holding many other offices with the organization. He was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho. Wilbur enjoyed traveling, particularly cruises. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Roland and Milt; and sister, Angela; and his son, John in 1973. Wilbur is survived by his wife, Iva; son, Michael; three grandchildren, Tanner, Megan, and Kyle; and great-grandson, Jayden. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2007 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services at Vista Verde, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. HERRMANN -- Betty L. Herrmann died of sudden heart failure January 8, 2007. She is survived by her daughter, Inga and husband, John Molt; her son, Peter Herrmann; and four grandchildren, Rishar Herrmann, Mariah and Joshua Molt and Jonathan Herrmann. Betty went home to be with her Savior and Lord. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. JOHNSON -- Martha Rosa Lee Johnson, also known as Marty, mom, and Gee-Gee; daughter of Solomon Archuleta and Jennie Bell passed away peacefully in Albuquerque, NM on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 after prolonged illness. Martha was born in Questa, NM. on March 21, 1940. Martha gave 25 years of service to Honeywell Electronics where she worked as a computer programmer. Martha is survived by her two children, Lillie Morgan and husband, Eddie Morgan; Jomantha Johnson and partner Jimmy Smith; and long life partner (stepfather) Robert Mosley; six grandchildren, Charles Donovan Cox, De'Angelo Morgan, De'Vonte Meadows, Cadavain Traylor, La' Garia Meadows and Marcel Morgan all of Albuquerque, NM; siblings, Stella Gonzales, Thelma Lattimar, Julian Archuleta and George Archuleta; and a host of nieces and nephews. KOTARA -- Nick Kotara, Jr., born October 12, 1923, peacefully went home to be with the Lord and "Mama" on January 6, 2007 while surrounded by his family. He was born in Falls City, TX to a family that eventually consisted of 9 boys. He joined the Army Air Corp at the age of 17, after having a "slight brush with the law" in the area of his home. He was in the military when he met the love of his life, Glenna Boyer of Blackwell, OK. They married and moved to different Air Force bases in the western part of the United States. He served during WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. In the 1960s, he and "Mama" took in their two nieces and one nephew and eventually adopted Sandra and Richard. Nick retired from the USAF in 1966 after 21 years. He worked then for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, working at the old Albuquerque Indian School and also worked for Landscaping at the University of New Mexico. Nick's beloved wife preceded him in death on May 11, 1996. Nick has spent the last year at Alcantilado Vista Retirement Home in Rio Rancho. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Kimura, of Rio Rancho, her friend Carl Espinoza, Eugene Kimura of Rio Rancho and son Richard Kotara of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his niece, Shirley Windsor, of Pensacola, Florida; grandsons Mike Kimura, his wife, Lynette, Brian Kimura, his wife, Renae, Daniel Kimura, his girlfriend, Marissa Sanchez, Cody Kotara and his wife Cynthia, and Tonja Kotara; and great-granddaughters, Kory Kotara, Kalei Kimura and Dakota Kotara, Victoria and Joanie Schultz. He also has one brother, Chris Kotara, who still resides in Poth, TX and various nieces and nephews. The family would especially like to thank the staff and doctors of the Presbyterian Adult Intensive Care Unit for their special care of Nick in his last hours. The Rosary will be recited on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at 7 p.m. at St. Thomas Acquinas Catholic Church, 1594 Sara Rd. in Rio Rancho. A Funeral Mass will be given on Friday, January 12, 2007 at 11 a.m. also at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Ashes will be interred at a later date in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. LILL -- Daniel Coit Lill, born in Chicago, IL on February 22, 1942, passed away early Thursday morning on January 4, 2007. Daniel was the third of five sons born to Eleanor Coit Lill and George Lill II. As a young man, Daniel participated in the family business, Lill Coal & Oil, and spent his summers on the family's working farm on Green Lake, WI. A graduate of Winnetka's New Trier High School, class of 1960, Daniel came to Albuquerque to attend UNM. After leaving school to work for Richard Nixon's presidential campaign, he returned to the University, joining the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and earning a bachelor's degree in business administration before becoming a graduate of UNM's law school in 1969. Daniel served a one-year term as a law clerk under Judge Oman at the NM State Court of Appeals before opening up his own practice in Albuquerque, where he specialized in trial law and insurance fraud. He loved the law and worked at his profession until his death. In addition to being a member of the NM State Bar Association and the NM Trial Lawyers Association, Mr. Lill was a long-standing member of the Albuquerque Country Club. Daniel is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carolyn Phillips Lill, a fellow UNM student whom he met when they were both participating in a wedding party at the Immanuel Presbyterian Church on Valentine's Day in 1963. They were married in July of 1966. Together they had three children, daughter, Lorissa and husband, Dr. Bernhard Schilling of Syracuse, NY; and sons, Charles Coit Lill and wife, Keena, Robert Duff Lill; and grandson, Cole Coit Lill, all of Albuquerque. He is also survived by three brothers, John Lill of WI, Steven Lill of Costa Rica, and William Lill of FL; and long-time friend, John McDonough of Kenilworth, IL. He was preceded in death by his eldest brother, George Lill III, formerly of Bolivia. Services will be held Friday, January 12, 2007, 2:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel with Rev. LOVATO -- Juanita A. Lovato, born in Cuba, NM on April 21, 1919, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Tuesday, January 9, 2007. She will be remembered by all whose lives she touched for her love, faith, strength, and her beautiful smile. Mrs. Lovato was preceded in death by her parents, Rafael and Piedad Archibeque; husband, Eliseo Lovato; and her son, Eliseo, Jr. She is survived by her children, Dorothy Trujillo and partner, Tito Pacheco, Joe Orlando Lobato and wife, Elizabeth, Angie Montano and husband, Lawrence, Irene Varela, Larry Lovato and wife, Juanita and David Lovato; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. MANUEL -- Wayne Omar Manuel Jr., Ret. TSgt., USAF, age 58, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2007. He was born in Galax, VA. He served his country in the United States Air Force, where he served in several deployments, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Korea, and Honduras; he retired after 20 years of military service. He was a man of few words, a very giving person with an enormously big heart. Wayne enjoyed traveling, movies, photography and had a huge interest in collecting music. He is survived by his wife, Rose Manuel; his children, Geraldine, Mary Jo, Eddie and their spouses; his sisters, Carolyn G. Manuel, Karen Lukenich and husband Tom, and Wanda O'Neil; nephew, Shane O'Neil; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wayne will be greatly missed by all. MARQUEZ -- Yvonne Lorraine Duran Marquez, 50, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM, passed away unexpectedly on January 7, 2007. She was born on March 8, 1956 to Joe A. Jr.and Adela Duran of Las Vegas, NM. Yvonne was a graduate of West Las Vegas High School Class of "74" and received her LPN license from Luna Vocational Technical Institute. She continued her education at the University of Albuquerque where she graduated with her RN and then the University of Phoenix where she graduated with her BA. She graduated with top honors with each of her degrees. Yvonne worked for thirty years in the nursing profession, helping and healing others. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister and mother, whose family came first before all else. She had a deep faith in God, and lived to serve and honor Him with her life. Yvonne will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Yvonne was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Jose A. and Mary Duran; her maternal grandparents, Frank and Senaida Griego; special uncle and aunt, Robert and Eppie Duran. Yvonne is survived by her husband, Eddie Marquez; mother-in-law, Helen Marquez of the loving family home with her three sons, Keith Crespin, Kevin Marquez, Kenneth Marquez, all of Albuquerque; a grandmother to four beautiful little girls who are the joys of her heart, Makayla, Shayann, Ashley, Antonia; her parents, Joe A. MENDOZA -- Maryann Mendoza, age 89, a lifelong resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 in Albuquerque. MILLAR -- Charles Andrew Millar, 44, a resident of Durham, NC, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 30, 2006, at his home. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Mihaly Millar; and daughter, Charlotte Mihaly Millar, of Durham, NC; his mother, Sylvia Bass Levy and husband, Phil Levy of Estancia, NM; his father, Charles Anson Millar and partner, Helen Brasfeild of Socorro, NM; his brother, William Millar of Los Lunas, NM; his nieces, Miranda and Shannon Millar of Estancia, NM; his niece, Kyralia Hill of Akron, OH; as well as other family. Charles was born in Reno, NV, on May 31, 1962, and spent most of his early years in New Mexico and California. He lived for 20 years in the Synanon communities of California. After leaving Synanon, he worked for an environmental group, where he met his wife, Elizabeth. Charles and Elizabeth moved from Akron, OH to Durham, NC in 1993. Charles subsequently entered the computer field and became a Certified Novell Engineer. Charles had a great love for his family, both near and far. He enjoyed gaming with family and friends. He also loved the wilderness and the great open spaces of the West. Charles will be remembered for his easygoing nature, kindheartedness, and willingness to always help those in need. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness to everyone who knew him. Charles will be greatly missed by family and friends in North Carolina, New Mexico, Ohio, and California. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, January 14, 2007 at 2:30 p.m., at the Estancia United Methodist Church, Estancia, NM.

OYDNA -- Ludmilla Maria Oydna, 80, a resident of Rio Rancho from 1973 until mid-2006 when she moved to California, passed away on December 18, 2006. She was born April 26, 1926 the daughter of Philipp and Maria Modl Woelfelschneider in Darmstadt, Germany. Ludmilla is survived by her husband of nearly 55 years, Tunney Oydna of San Diego, CA; two children, Arne Oydna of Juneau, AK, and Ben Oydna of San Diego, CA; three grandchildren, Benjamin, Ethan, and Olivia. The Service for Ludmilla will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services at Vista Verde, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho with Chaplain Lemuel Boyes officiating. SIMEONE -- Lorraine Florence Simeone, 78, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on January 11, 2007, with her family by her side. She is survived by her husband, Donald; sons, Paul, Phil and his wife, Teresa, Chris and his wife, Tami, Pete, daughter, Theresa and her boyfriend, Deron Coleman; and six grandchildren. She had a young, energetic soul, and enjoyed outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and gardening. VIGIL -- RODERICK Sol, 33, began his journey to be with our Heavenly Father on the 9th day of January 2007. He is survived by his loving mother, Lanette Frazzini; two brothers, Nathan Vigil and wife, Liana, Wil Griego and wife, Vanessa. Rod shared his life with his fiancee, Amanda Howell and their son, Rodrick Thomas Vigil Jr.; he is also survived by his beautiful daughter, Mia Alari Vigil of California. He enjoyed spending time with his nephew and five nieces. He will be greatly missed by his aunt, Liz Garcia and grandparents, Mella Gallegos and Augustine Garcia. Rod brought love and laughter to his many friends. He was blessed with many talents including playing the drums, his love of art and playing golf. Rod will be in our hearts always and forever until we are reunited in heaven. Our greatest appreciation goes out to the Heartland Hospice staff and the many caretakers who helped Rod during his illness. VON ACKERMANN -- Kirk von Ackermann was killed October 9, 2003 while acting as a contractor in Iraq. Kirk served his country with distinction, first as a Russian linguist in the army, then as an intelligence officer in the air force. He earned numerous awards including Army, Air Force, and joint service commendation medals. Kirk was passionate about his family and devoted to them and to his many friends. He pursued many activities, and taught his children his personal philosophy: live life, don't watch it. He is survived by his wife, Megan; his children, Hilary, Katja, and Alexander; his father, Warner Newberger; sisters, Sherrie Dalton and Gina Tidwell; brother, Scott Newberger; and many nieces and nephews. WALKER -- William E. "Bill" Walker, 80, an Albuquerque resident since 1954, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2007. Born December 29, 1926 in Minden, LA, he spent most of his youth in Texas. He attended Texas A&M where he played football and graduated with a mechanical engineering degree. His college career was briefly interrupted to serve in the Army during the end of WWII. Upon graduation he worked for GE in the northeast before his love of the outdoors lured him out west to Albuquerque to work at Sandia Labs. His 34 years as a rocket scientist/engineer at Sandia took him all over the world. Bill was a devoted husband and family man who loved to hunt and fish in the wilds of New Mexico and Colorado with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Joan; children, Bill Walker and wife, Miyako of Carrollton, TX, David, Jeff and wife, Robin of Albuquerque; step-children, Chris Blodgett and wife, Nancy, Katherine and Maureen; five granddaughters, Jessica Schommer, Julie Weiss, Sadie Pettigrew, Lindsay Blodgett, and Robyn Walker; three great-grandchildren, Theo Schommer, Maddie Weiss and Jenna Weiss. Memorial Services will be held on Monday, January 15, 2007, 2:00 p.m., at Desert Springs Church, 705 Osuna NE.
