Obituary for MILLAR

Charles Andrew Millar, 44, a resident of Durham, NC, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 30, 2006, at his home. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Mihaly Millar; and daughter, Charlotte Mihaly Millar, of Durham, NC; his mother, Sylvia Bass Levy and husband, Phil Levy of Estancia, NM; his father, Charles Anson Millar and partner, Helen Brasfeild of Socorro, NM; his brother, William Millar of Los Lunas, NM; his nieces, Miranda and Shannon Millar of Estancia, NM; his niece, Kyralia Hill of Akron, OH; as well as other family. Charles was born in Reno, NV, on May 31, 1962, and spent most of his early years in New Mexico and California. He lived for 20 years in the Synanon communities of California. After leaving Synanon, he worked for an environmental group, where he met his wife, Elizabeth. Charles and Elizabeth moved from Akron, OH to Durham, NC in 1993. Charles subsequently entered the computer field and became a Certified Novell Engineer. Charles had a great love for his family, both near and far. He enjoyed gaming with family and friends. He also loved the wilderness and the great open spaces of the West. Charles will be remembered for his easygoing nature, kindheartedness, and willingness to always help those in need. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness to everyone who knew him. Charles will be greatly missed by family and friends in North Carolina, New Mexico, Ohio, and California. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, January 14, 2007 at 2:30 p.m., at the Estancia United Methodist Church, Estancia, NM.
