APODACA -- Florio Apodaca, age 79, beloved and devoted brother and uncle, was welcomed into the arms of our Heavenly Father, Wednesday, December 14, 2005, while surrounded by his loving family. Florio was born in Algodones, NM to the late Francisco and Julia Apodaca; he was a resident of Algodones and a member of the Catholic Church. He was a member of the Purple Heart League, DAV, and Senior Citizens League. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Julia Apodaca; sisters, Celia Apodaca, Rose Gurule; and brothers, Otilio Apodaca, and Nick Apodaca. Florio is survived by two sisters, Leonila Gurule and Isabel Apodaca; nieces, Lavonia Sanchez, Julia Gonzales, Lorella Lovato, Veronica Acosta; nephew, Robert A. Gurule; and several nieces, several great-nephews and -nieces, and great-great-nieces and -nephews. A public visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Sunday December 18, 2005. A Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. at Alameda Mortuary. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 19, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph in Algodones. Pallbearers will be Robert A. BARELA -- Rebecca Anna Alisa Barela went home to be with the Lord on December 11, 2005 at the age of 23. She was born on September 18, 1982 in New Mexico. CALDWELL -- Patricia Irene G. Caldwell, 12-21-1926 - 12-13-2005, a longtime resident of Albuquerque since 1963. Born and raised in Durant, OK. She is preceded by her parents, Beullah Bell, Charles Arthur; and brother, Howard K. "Jack" Goodman. She is survived by her husband, Floyd "Slick"; and three sons, Arthur, Mitch, Patrick and their spouses, Angela, Debra and Joan; seven grandchildren, Sara, Jennifer, Matthew, Joni, Chance, Kurtis and Jarred; along with many nephews, nieces and cousins, she loved them all and always looked at their positive traits and characteristics. Special thanks go out to Patty Mork, her niece, who had become one of her best friends. Patty was also her hospice nurse which meant more than anyone can imagine. Patricia loved everyone she met and enjoyed traveling and camping, especially going up to the family cabin in the Pecos Mtns. She always supported and enjoyed going to her children's and grandchildren's activities and sporting events. She graduated from Southeastern OK. St. Univ. in 1947 and later received her Master's degree in education from UNM. Taught elementary grades 1st, 2nd, 3rd in Ardmore and Cushing OK. and at Alvarado, Bellehaven, and Emerson elementary schools here in Albuquerque. She was involved in the local PEO chapter, DAR, AAUW, the X-L bridge group and local lace making group. Loved sewing, knitting, word games and puzzles. Services will be held Saturday, December 17, 2005 3:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church 1500 Chelwood Park Blvd. NE 293-1911.

GARCIA -- William "Willie" C. Garcia, 83, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died peacefully at home early on Thursday, December 15, 2005. He is survived by Viola, his wife of 58 years; sisters, Sister Marie Amada of Henderson, NV, and Rita Lawrence and her husband, Russell, of Carolton, TX. Willie, who grew up in the Barelas neighborhood and graduated from St. Mary's High School, is survived by five daughters, Maria Garcia Geer and husband, Rod, Cecilia Garcia, Catherine Garcia Scott and husband, Dan, Lara Garcia, and Imelda Francis and husband, Tim, of Chicago, IL; five sons, Michael and wife, Theresa, John of Albuquerque, NM, Stephen of Bozeman, MT, James and wife, Gloria of Denver, CO, and Mark of San Diego, CA; 19 grandchildren: Jennifer Garcia, Lisa Vaughn and husband, Jeremiah, Jessica Garcia, Charles Garcia, Anna Marie Garcia, Robert Garcia, Joaquin Ortega, Miguel Ortega, Javier Ortega, Anna Geer, Leah Geer, Meredith Scott, Lauren Scott, Matthew Scott, Michaela Garcia, Alaina Garcia, Morena Garcia, Sofia Padilla de Garcia, and Lucas Padilla de Garcia; and three great-grandchildren, Christian Garcia, Ryan Garcia, and Kaitlyn Garcia-Allen. Willie had a lifelong love of music, playing the piano and sharing his favorite songs in Spanish and in English with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramoncita and Charles Garcia; his son, Martin; and his sister, Lena Baca. He served honorably in the Army, Coast Guard, and Navy. He retired from the Naval Reserve as a Chief Petty Officer. Willie was stationed in the Polynesian Islands during WWII. One of his many passions was teaching Spanish to students of all ages. He also once received a special assignment during his varied 30-year career at Sandia National Laboratories to teach English to Albuquerque-based Cuban refugees. Willie also took great pride as a frequent reader during Mass at Holy Ghost Church. Pallbearers will be Lorenzo Candelaria, Ray Candelaria, Robert Garcia, Javier Ortega, Miguel Ortega, and Charles Garcia. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, December, 18, 2005, at Salazar & Sons Mortuary at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at The Holy Ghost Church on Monday, December, 19, 2005, at 9:00 a.m. Interment will take place at The National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM at 1:30 p.m. following the Mass. GONZALES -- LEROY N. (SONNY) In loving memory of Leroy N. (Sonny) Gonzales who went home to be with the Lord on Saturday December 10, 2005. Leroy, son of Nestor Gonzales and Adelina Candelaria Gonzales, was born March 18, 1953 in Albuquerque, NM. Leroy is survived by his loving daughter, Melissa Gonzales and fiance, Adam Rowen; ex-wife, Margaret C de Baca; sister, Linda Garcia; brother, Eric Gonzales; uncle, Edward Chavez Sr.; nieces, Amanda Griego, husband, William; Erica Chavez, husband, Tom; Lillian Parra, husband, George; Crystal Baldonado, husband, Peter; and nephew, Armand Tabor, wife, Alma; and many cousins and friends. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Nestor and Adelina; and his sister, Martie Tabor. Leroy loved most his daughter, Melissa; he was a loving and supportive father. Leroy loved music; he played the saxophone and wrote poetry. He coached his daughter, Melissa in soccer until her high school years. Leroy was also a retail manager and district manager in the Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay area. He worked for the government until his passing. He loved his extended family and friends. JACKSON -- Audrey J. Jackson, 68, an Albuquerque resident since 1976, died Wednesday, December 14, 2005. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Walter Jackson of Albuquerque; daughters, Shari Brown and husband, Bo of Missouri, Kimberly Hardy and husband, John of California, Teresa Brown and husband, Robert of Rio Rancho, and Stephanie Nelson and husband, David of Albuquerque; son, Walter Jackson, III and wife, Julia of Ohio; 19 grandchildren; sisters, Marcia Morrison and Linda Evens, both of Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Helen Linton; a brother, Douglas Linton; and grandson, Jared Nelson. Audrey taught mathematics at St. Pius X High School for several years. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Community where she was active with the Rosary Guild. She was also devoted to the Tridentine Latin Mass at San Ignacio Catholic Church. KELLER -- Anthony Wendel Keller, 94, died peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 in Albuquerque, NM. He is survived by his son, Anthony and daughter-in-law, Lynn Keller of Danville, CA; his daughter, Marlene and son-in-law, Christian Fritz of Albuquerque; by his sister, Barbara Weinman of the Seattle area; and by numerous family members. He provided devoted care to his beloved wife of 54 years, Mildred Fredrickson, during her lengthy illness prior to her death in 2003. Born on December 23, 1910 in a village near Odessa, Russia, he emigrated to America in 1911 with his parents, John and Magdalena Keller and siblings, settling first in Collyer, KS and then on a farm north of Havre, MT. Tenth of fourteen surviving children, he graduated from Havre High School and a California Technical Institute. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers in WWII, moving to Richmond, CA in 1948, where he lived until 2003. He was a kind and loving son, brother, husband, father, and friend, who was known for his dedication to family, community, and church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1936 and twice Grand Knight of Council 2741, a past president and member since 1945 of IBEW Local 360 in Oakland, an employee of the Southern Pacific Railroad from 1945 - 1975, and an active parishioner of St. Cornelius Church since 1948. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2005 at 3 p.m. at Sunset View Mortuary at Colusa and Fairmount Avenue in El Cerrito, CA, followed by a Memorial Mass on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 10 a.m. at St. Cornelius Church, 225 28th St., Richmond, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Cornelius Church or your favorite charity are requested. The family extends special thanks to Preferred Hospice, Comfort Keepers, and Atria Vista del Rio for their loving care.

LEONARD -- Jason Fred Leonard passed away December 14, 2005, in his Albuquerque home due to severe asthmatic conditions. Jason was born December 10, 1973, in La Mirada, CA to Philip and Jacquelyn Leonard. He was raised in Santa Maria where he attended high school and furthered his education at UVSC in Provo, UT, and completed his education for a private pilot's license during that time. Jason served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Tucson, Arizona Mission. He married Marla Rogers of Alamogordo, NM in June 1995 for Time and Eternity in the San Diego Temple. Jason and Marla had three children; Creed Michael Leonard age, 3 1/2, Sway Victoria Leonard, age 2, and Cross R. Leonard six months of age. Jason was a dedicated family man, and his family was his life. They will always love him and mourn his passing. He was President in charge of Verizon Communications at Alert Cellular for the past several years, and his position took them to several states making their home in Utah, Washington, Texas, and New Mexico. Survivors include his wife and children of the family home; his parents of Santa Maria, CA, his sisters, Jill Smith and husband, David of Missouri; Julianne Leonard of Santa Maria, CA; James Leonard of Santa Maria, CA; fathers- and mothers-in-law, Michael and Vicki Rogers of Alamogordo, NM; Jenny Moody and husband, Bret of Las Cruces, NM; Matt Rogers of Albuquerque, NM; Katie Duncan and husband, Michael of Great Falls, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews and close family and friends. LOONEY -- Art C. Looney passed away December 15, 2005. Art was born February 11, 1934 in Fairgrove, MO. Art was preceded in death by his father, Marion Looney; mother, Grace Looney Price; and sister, Gweneth Looney. Art is survived by wife of 51 years, Shirley Looney; three daughters, Jeanne and husband, Don Windham of Edgewood, Sheila and husband, Jeff Taylor of Albuquerque, and Marsha and fiance, Charlie Strickland of Albuquerque; one son, Rudy and his wife ,Dawn Cera; three brothers, Dale Looney and wife, Rosalie of Clinton, MO, Darold Looney and wife, Ruth of Belton, MO, and Calvin Looney and wife, Niva of Kansas, MO; two sisters, Lee Hinkle of Pennsylvania and Flossie Barrett of Missouri. Art was blessed with 12 wonderful grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was a beloved friend to so many and will also be greatly missed by his beloved dog, Tinker. MARESMA -- Gladis Fois Maresma, surrounded by her husband, daughter, son, and his wife, sister, and cousin, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2005. Gladis is survived by her husband, Fernando; her daughter, Adriana; her son, Jose and wife, Kimberlee, all from Albuquerque. Also her mother, Anselma; her sister, Maria Alba; her brother, Salvador Raoul; his wife, Carmen Fois; niece, Natalia; nephews, Jose Fernando, Javier, and Octavio; and numerous friends. She was born in Asuncion, Paraguay, March 11, 1938. She came to the University of New Mexico as a Fulbright scholar in 1962. She received a Master's degree in Latin American Studies in 1970. Gladis was the cofounder of Latin American Programs in Education (LAPE) in 1965. In 1968, she was the assistant to the director of The Ibero-American Studies Center, now the Latin American Iberian Institute (LAII) until 1970, when she became the assistant director of LAPE where she was in charge of the admissions of students from every country in Latin America. In 1992, Gladis was appointed Director of the International, Technical, and Educational Cooperation Office (OITEC), until her retirement in 2002. Gladis was a member of the Aquinas Newman Center on the UNM Campus, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be co-celebrated by Rev. Andrew Pavlak, OP and Rev. O'BRIEN -- JoAnn L. O'Brien, age 66 and a resident of Albuquerque since 1977, died on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 in a local hospital following an illness. RICHARDSON -- Dorothy Sue Richardson, of Chandler, AZ, 86 years old, born October 12, 1919, passed away: December 13, 2005. Dorothy was born in St. Augustine, TX, lived for many years in Albuquerque, NM, then eventually moved to Southern California and in the 1983 moved to Chandler, AZ as her final retirement home. She passed away with her family at her bedside. Dorothy is survived by her extensive family including: Her husband: Robert (Bob) Richardson of 64 years; her three children: Robert (Bobby) Richardson, Darlene Cervantes, and Donna Swaving; her eight grandchildren: Tiffany Loftin, David and Lance Richardson; Byron and Darrin Royal, Michelle Norman; Steven and Monte Cervantes; her 17 great-grandchildren: Anna Kate, Abigail and Isaac Richardson; Evan Loftin; Monte, Jr., Megan, Adam, Rebecca, Joshua and Michael Cervantes; B.J., Billy, Daniel and Dokota Royal; Trent, Carissa and Nicolette Norman; her sister, Peggy Simmons from Amarillo, TX; and, her Special pets: Rocky, a Toy Poodle, and cat, Tabitha. Dorothy will always be remembered as a loving wife for 64 years, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother, with a network of extended family members of nieces, nephews, cousins, and neighbors. Dorothy's special gift was being a kind, gentle and giving person; she loved to meet new and old friends and relatives and dancing was a special part of her life and memories. Her children in their teenage years were in Ballroom Dancing and were National Champions. Of her many fond memories, one of her favorites - was watching the Lawrence Welk Show - even if they were reruns. Dorothy will definitely be missed; however, we look forward to a resurrection into better conditions.

TORRES -- Lawrence Allen Torres, 43, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on December 15, 2005 with his loving family by his side. Lawrence is the beloved husband to Cynthia Torres, married for 7 years. He is also survived by his children, Charles Torres, Daniel Torres, and Esperanza Rodriguez; his mother, Mary Della Torres; one brother, James Torres; his niece, Alex Torres of Las Vegas, NV; his father-in-law, Felix Racaniello; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Lawrence was preceded in death by his father, Karl Torres; his uncles, Max Torres and Gene Torres; and his mother-in-law, Lillian Racaniello. Lawrence was a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard. A visitation for Lawrence will be Sunday afternoon in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 3:00 p.m. by Gabriella Nieto.
