AGUILAR -- Theodore "Ted" Aguilar, 71, a resident of Grants, NM, died on December 28, 2004 in Albuquerque, NM. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine M. Aguilar of Grants, NM; daughter, Karla M. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Ted is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Roberta Aguilar. He was born & raised in Taos. After graduation from Taos High School, he served in the Army. Ted retired in 1998 from the City of Grants after 30 years of employment. He and his wife Lorraine "Lora," the love of his life, shared 41 years together. He was a devoted and loving father to his precious daughter, Karla. He liked to travel, fish, and keep up with current events. Prayer service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. also at French Mortuary with Sister Norma Gutierrez, officiating. ALECK -- SOPHIA ALECK, age 89, of Santa Fe, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2004, peacefully at home surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her sons: James Maryol and wife Ann, Kirk Aleck and wife Mary Lou; daughters: Georgia Maryol, Eva Kurtz, Toni Maryol, Chrisa Cazamias and husband James; sister, Athena Patsalis; loving caregiver, Lita Baca, 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchi- ldren, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Visitation will begin on Thursday, December 30, 2004, 6:00 p.m. where a Trisaghion will follow at 7:00 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Chapel. ANDERSON -- Laurence William "Larry" Anderson 1959-2004 Larry Anderson, 45, of Amarillo, Texas passed away Thursday, December 23, 2004. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church located on the corner of Lomas and Tennessee. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park located at 924 Menaul Boulevard NE. Mr. Anderson was born July 4, 1959 in Albuquerque to W.A. "Bill" & Judy Anderson. He graduated from St. Puis X High School and the University of New Mexico. Larry moved to Amarillo 13 years ago and worked as Manager of Discount Tire Co. Larry is truly loved and will be dearly missed. Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Lisa; son, Lee of Amarillo; daughter, Ashley of Amarillo; his parents of Albuquerque; brothers, Steve Anderson and wife Jennifer and David Anderson and wife Tracylee all of Albuquerque; and countless aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

BACA -- Andres G., Sr. Mr. Andres G. Baca, Sr., 86, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at home following a long illness on December 28, 2004 with his loving family by his side. Mr. Baca is the beloved husband to Mrs. Viola Baca, married for 64 years. Mr. Baca is also survived by his children. Candido Baca and wife, Jacqueline, Theresa Barboa and husband, Leroy, Andy Baca Jr. and wife, Connie, Ernestina Baca, Lawrence Baca and wife, Terry; two brothers, George Baca and wife, Barbara, Federico Baca and wife, Melba; four sisters, Rosa Garcia, Petra Salazar and husband, Eloy, Viola Valdivia and husband, Carlos, Erlinda Salazar, Patsy Tafoya and husband, Lupe; 16 grandchildren, 21 great- grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Baca was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Theresa Baca, his daughters, Gloria Baca and Gloria Turner and a grandson, Ricky Barboa. Mr. Baca was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church and served as an usher for 50 years. He was also a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. He was very active with the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion. He was a lifetime member of both organizations. Mr. Baca was an active member of the community and owned and operated his own automotive repair service for 26 years. He was always willing to help someone in need. He believed that no good deed went unrewarded. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. A visitation for Mr. Baca will be Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00p.m. by Mrs. Eileen Montoya. A final visitation will be Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated by Father Daniel Balizan. CHALKLEY -- Linda Diane. After a brave struggle, Linda Diane Chalkley, 56, passed on to a much better place on December 26, 2004. She was preceded in death earlier this year by her husband, Bill. Originally from North Carolina, she most recently had lived in Alabama and had just relocated to Albuquerque. Linda was an avid racing enthusiast and loved attending NASCAR races throughout the year. Racing fans will appreciate the favorite cheer of "Boogity, Boogity, Boogity" to begin each race. Linda is survived by three sons, Michael, David, and Jeff; two sisters, Dolores Jackson and husband, Bob and Janice Pace; two brothers, Ronald and Ulysses Pace; three grandchildren, Ashlie, Aaron, and Jeremiah; and many beloved nieces and nephews; as well as family friends around the country. Her little dog, Pedro, will also miss her loving touch. Linda's sons will truly miss their "mama" and her beautiful bright smile will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her. Cremation has taken place and services are planned for a later date.

DURANT -- Mary Margaret Durant, 87, a 54-year resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, December 27, 2004. She is survived by her son, Michael J. Durant and wife, Yvonne of Albuquerque; daughter, Linda Beaulieu and husband, Ray of Albuquerque; grandson, Daniel Beaulieu; granddaughter, Tara Durant; sister-in-law, Frances Gassner. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Vern Durant; father Edward William Gassner; mother, Marie Elisabeth Bruggeman; and brother, Edmund Gassner. Mrs. Durant was born April 3, 1917, Tiffin, OH. She graduated from Calvert High School in Tiffin, OH and graduated Tiffin Business College. She worked as a secretary at Wright Field Air Force Base in Dayton, OH in the 1940's. Mrs. Durant married August 12, 1941 to John V. Durant. She was a current member of Glory Christian Fellowship, past member Faith Lutheran Church and Annunciation Catholic Church. Mrs. Durant also worked with the Catholic Charismatic Center and was involved in the Charismatic Renewal in Albuquerque. She was also a member of Nor Este Art Association, the Sanado Women's Club and the Sanado Singers. MENDOZA -- Ruben V. Mendoza was born February 14, 1941 and passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at his home. He worked for many years at Duke City Lumber Co., having retired in 2002. Ruben loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved woodworking and enjoyed outdoor activities, cooking and animals. Ruben was preceded in death by his parents, Ignacio and Maria Mendoza, and his three brothers, Ernesto, Ignacio Jr., and Raymond. He is survived by his ex-wife, Mela Mendoza; three children, Mel Mendoza, Ernest Mendoza and wife Sandra, Anna Martinez and husband Ted, all of Albuquerque; three brothers, Adolfo Mendoza of Albuquerque, Daniel Mendoza and wife Maggie of Belen, and Tony Mendoza of Albuquerque; one sister, Lydia Romero of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Marissa, Meghan, Mikayla, and Alexis; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who loved and will miss him. MURRAY -- Mary Beth Townsley Murray, 51, resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, December 27, 2004, at Presbyterian Hospital. She was born in Middletown, Ohio, the daughter of Beth Bullock Townsley and the late James Gardner Townsley. Mary graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio, with a BA in comparative religion and psychology, and then earned an MS in counseling psychology at George Williams College in Downer's Grove, Ill. While in Illinois, she was clinical director of the alcohol treatment program at Mercy Center in Aurora. Upon her arrival in Albuquerque, she became clinical manager at University of New Mexico's chemical dependency program, and later helped develop and open Presbyterian Hospital's Daybreak Alcohol Treatment Program before going into private practice. While in private practice, she became one of the early New Mexico proponents and practitioners of Sandplay therapy. She is survived by her two children, Sean and Caitlin; her friend, David Skinner; ex-husband, Patrick Murray; and brother, Richard Townsley and his wife Mary, all of Albuquerque; a second brother, Michael and his wife Beverley, of West Chester, Ohio; her mother, Beth Townsley, of Middletown, Ohio. RIBAL -- Maria Dolores Ribal went home to be with the Lord at the age of 93 on December 27, 2004. She was born on December 20, 1911. She is preceded in death by her mother. Maria is survived by her daughters: Angie Chavez, Marcela Parras, Theresa Bajarano, Rita Mason; son, Jesse Chavez. She has 19 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was a very loving caring person who loved children. Whatever she could do, she would do. Her hands were always extended to everyone. She was a precious treasure that God loaned to us and will be greatly Missed. Her pride and joy was to play with her great-grandchildren, Zachary, Maleah, Amaya, Markie, and little Zion. She loved to tell them stories. Maria loved to read her Bible and drink her coffee. In the Bible she would read John 14: 1-6 where Jesus had many Mansions in Heaven. She talked about going home to be with her Mother. We all knew her by Grand Lola. We love you Grandma Lola and we will surely miss you. VAN HAMMOND -- Ann L. Van Hammond, of Albuquerque, age 77 and formerly of Kimberly, Wisconsin, passed away Monday, December 27, 2004, at the Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah, Wisconsin. She was born March 2, 1927, in Grand Chute, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Frank B. and Anna M. (nee Koestler) Demerath. She married Earl J. Van Hammond on July 2, 1949, at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute, Wisconsin. Ann was a homemaker, and moved to New Mexico in 1992. She was a member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Albuquerque, and served as president of the Marionites, a group of parishioners that serves the homebound. She was a volunteer at the Right To Life Clinic, and helped prepare meals for the homeless. Ann was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, William Verhagen Unit 60, of Kimberly. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy (Jeff) Pointer, of Phoenix, AZ; two sons, Daniel J. (Vickie) Van Hammond, of Arkdale, WI. and Tony (Cathy) Van Hammond, of Appleton, WI; there are seven grandchildren, Joseph, Christine, David, Samuel, (Tressy), Jacob, Amber, and Bethany; three sisters, Rita (Leo) Bogenschutz, of Boulder, CO, Theresa Sears, of Kimberly, and Betty (David) Maas, of Appleton, WI; and six brothers, Francis Demerath, of Little Chute, Joe Demerath, of Janesville, WI, Mike (Dee) Demerath, of Seymour, WI, Pete (Gerry) Demerath, of Appleton, Leon (Rosalee) Demerath, of Mount Pleasant, MI, and Al Demerath, of Marinette, WI. Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Earl Van Hammond; two grandchildren, Adam Pointer and Baby Van Hammond; and two sisters, Edith Fulcer and Mary Vander Wyst. A memorial service for Ann will be held at 8:30 am on Monday, January 3, 2005 at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Albuquerque. The Mass will be preceded by a Parish Rosary at 8:00 am on Monday. Ann will be buried in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton, Wisconsin.
