CHAVEZ -- Gloria E. Chavez, 78, of Las Vegas, NV passed way on September 19, 2004. She was born on January 27, 1926 in Albuquerque, NM. After her husband, Gabriel A. Chavez passed away in 1962, Gloria went back to school, acquired her business degree at Browning Business College, then worked at First Interstate Bank in the Trust Department until she retired in 1988. She fulfilled her life's dream and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1991. Gloria worked as a school bus aide for handicapped children until the age of 75. She is survived by her four children, Linda Farley and Nancy Chavez of Corona, CA, Gabriel Richard Chavez of Las Vegas, NV and Daniel Chavez of Albuquerque. A memorial mass will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2004. Family and friends are invited to share memories of our precious mom, Gloria, at Westside Community Center immediately following the services.

CUNNINGHAM -- Alice M. Cunningham, 85, was born September 2, 1919 and reborn to eternal life on September 21, 2004. She is survived by her children, Kathleen Barker and husband, Daniel of Panama City, FL, Patricia Smith and her husband, Morris of Ontario, OR, James Cunningham and wife, Kathy, Ann Foreman and husband, Jack and Jean Barr all of Albuquerque; 24 loving grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren who will miss her dearly; and sister, Florence and husband Jack of Athens, TX. Alice was born in Ellingson, SD, daughter of Louise Arpan and Aloysius Johnson. One of seven children, she attended St. Johns School of Nursing in Rapid City, SD and joined the Army Nurse Corps serving through WWII. She was a nurse in Albuquerque for many years, working at St. Joseph Hospital, VA Hospital, Girl's Welfare and Turquoise Lodge when she retired. Alice was a member of Holy Child Parish in Tijeras, NM for many years and most recently was ministered to by members of Risen Savior Catholic Community. Rosary will be recited Thursday, September 23, 2004, 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Friday, September 24, 2004, 10:00 a.m. at Risen Savior Catholic Community with Fr. Richard Olona, Celebrant. Friends may visit at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, from 6:00 p.m. until time of the Rosary. Interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Active and Honorary pallbearers will be her 10 grandsons, Ryan, Kelly, and Patrick Barker; Adrian and Luke Smith; Danny Cunningham; Paul Foreman and Matthew, Michael, and Mark Barr. CURRAN-ANGLADA -- Jocelyn Curran-Anglada, born March 13, 1975, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Thursday, September 16, 2004. Loving mother of 2 children, Dominic and Alexis, and wife of Keith Anglada, Jocelyn is survived by her parents, Lou and Mike Curran; her sister, Stacie; her grandmothers, Emma Griego and Marge Curran; nephews, Christopher and Joseph, Mia and Richard and all the Anglada Family; and many, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who love her dearly. She is also survived by her loving friend, Joe Cruz and Family. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2004 at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Church, 4000 Saint Joseph's Pl., NW. GALLEGOS -- Kathryn Nadine Gallegos departed on September 21, 2004. She was born to Arthur LeRoy Lyon and Katherine R. Gray in Salem, Lea Co, IA on June 6, 1923, youngest of ten children, including Irma Marie, Pauline Gladys, Ralph Bernard, Geneva Eileen, Maxine Eleanor, Marjorie Helen, Miriam Elizabeth, Wilbur H. and Robert Dale. She was raised on the family farm in Mount Pleasant, IA and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1941, when she moved to the state of California. There she bore three sons, Michael Lyon Burke (son of William Riley Burke), Patrick Lyon Gallegos, and Timothy Lyon Gallegos. The family moved to Albuquerque, the birthplace of her husband, George Thomas Gallegos, Jr. in 1954 where she bore Gallegos' Kathryn Julia, Thomas Lyon, and Linda Theresa. Nadine began employment in the banking industry while in California. Upon arriving in Albuquerque, she was employed by the First National Bank, from which she retired in 1987 as Assistant Vice President. She was then able to travel the world with family and friends, contribute to the rearing of grandchildren, and remain active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has been a resident of Rio Rancho since 2002. She is remembered as a loving and providing mother and grandmother and as a dedicated wife and friend. She is survived by her brother, Wilbur and sister, Miriam and by all of her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren are: Lisa Cathleen and Sean Lyon, children of Carol York and Michael; Ethan Lyon Arthur, son of Pamela B. Duran and Patrick; Tamara Selina, daughter of Patricia Mullville and Timothy; Dustin Uriah, Kandace Laurelle, Nathaniel Isaac and Celestine Rochelle, children of William Joseph Robertson Jr. and Kathryn; Her great grandchildren are Robert Nicholas, Brent Lyon and Colin George, children of Tyler Gray and Lisa Burke; Michael Lyon and Abigail Anne, children of Christina Sundberg and Sean Burke. Service will take place on Friday at 11:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Albuquerque West Stake Building, 4500 Ellison NW. Burial will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro NE. GARCIA -- Tillie M. Garcia passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2004. She was a beautiful, caring, and giving lady who was deeply loved by her family. She is survived by daughter, Roberta B. Salas and husband, Tony Salas; son, Wayne Aragon and wife, daughter-in-law Terry Aragon; grandchildren, Andrea Griego, Monica Padilla, Nicole Aragon, Wayne Z. Aragon, Stephani, and Santos. She is also survived by sisters, Erlinda Lovato and Betty Esquibel; brothers, John Garza and wife, Barbara and Bennie Garza and wife, Mary; and three great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces; and friends. Rosary will be resided Thursday, September 23, 2004 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1860 Griegos Rd NW. HARROD -- Ira E. Harrod, Jr., (Joe) 87, a resident of Albuquerque, NM for the past year, died on Tuesday, September 21, 2004. Harrod was born in Kansas City, MO but soon moved to Burlington, VT where he lived through high school. In 1935, he began his over 30-year association with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY with his enrollment in industrial engineering. He received his B.S. in 1939 and later an M.S. and worked as an engineer in Albany, NY until 1941. Joe joined the Marines in 1941 and was a veteran of World War II. He served in the Pacific theater seeing action in Bougainville, Guam, and Iwo Jima. He retired from the Marines with the rank of major in 1945. After the war, he returned to engineering, this time in Philadelphia. This was short lived in that two years later he was back at his alma mater joining the staff of the management engineering department in 1947. He remained at RPI until his retirement in 1979. From teaching, he was appointed Assistant Dean of Students in 1952, and Dean of Students in 1957. He was the first Director of Academic Advising in 1976. He received many awards for his work including the Albert Fox Demers Medal, Dean Emeritus of Students in 1984. He was honored for his contribution to the high standards of RPI and his devotion to the improvement of the quality of life at the Institute. Upon retirement, he and his wife Betty moved to Maine where they remained until 2003. During his retirement in Maine, Joe was active in his church, St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Falmouth, as well as in his community. He earned the admiration of his peers by exemplifying the Yankee virtues of his Vermont upbringing. He was an avid hockey enthusiast, loved swimming and sailing and enjoyed other hobbies such as woodworking, history and antiques. He was married for 64 years and devoted to his wife, Betty. Joe is survived by his son, Peter E. Harrod and wife, Anna; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Harrod Clark, James G. Harrod, Rachael Conti, Daniel E. Harrod, and Gabriela Rose Harrod; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty B. Harrod; and eldest son, James C. Harrod. Services will take place on Friday, September 24, 2004, 10:00 a.m., at Gate of Heaven Chapel, 7999 Wyoming Blvd., NE, with the Very Reverend Alan Dennis, officiating. LITTLE -- Fannie Mae Little, 81, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 19, 2004 surrounded by her precious family. Fannie was born August 8, 1923 the daughter of Spurlin and Myrtle Benson in Sullivan, KY. She was married to Charles G. Little on June 15, 1941. Fannie retired from the Park Services as an administrative officer at Fort Union National Monument near Las Vegas, NM. She lived in the Albuquerque area for the last 28 years. She was a devout Christian and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. The family of Fannie gives their heartfelt thanks to the Lovelace Sandia Hospice for the loving care and support that she and the family received. Fannie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; son, Gerald; and great-grandson, Cameron Anderson. She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Stout and husband, Ted, and Lynne Dickens and husband, John, all of Belen, NM; five grandchildren, Corey Stout of Albuquerque, Deana Hoover and husband, Michael of Rio Rancho, Dennis Phillips of Belen, Clint Phillips of Belen, and Michelle Little of Las Vegas, NV; four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Stout and Alison Lucero of Albuquerque, and Kaitlyn Anderson and Garrick Anderson of Rio Rancho; two sisters, Mary Francis McGill and Sarah Logan of Sturgis, KY. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho with Pastor Kedrick Shroyer officiating. Interment will follow in Vista Verde Memorial Park. It has been suggested that Memorial donations be made in Fannie's name to the Wegeners Granulomotosis Research Center, P. O. MANNING -- A. Ralph Manning, 84, a resident of Albuquerque, went to the Lord September 19, 2004. He is survived by his wife Mary Joy of Albuquerque; son Scott and family of Florida; children through marriage Carl Garcia and wife Kristen of Dallas, TX, Tina Otteni and husband Ken, and Nina Garcia, all of Albuquerque; granddaughter Lisa Delgado of Albuquerque; cousin Ida Sibaja-Siros and husband Carlos Sr. and family of Woodland Hills, CA; cousin Elvita Tribaldos and family of Panama City, Panama; and son-in-law Pete Cordova of Albuquerque. He had a very special place in his heart for his dear friends at Albuquerque Care Center, Integrated Specialty Hospital, United Blood Services and his neighbors of many years. He was preceded in death by his daughter through marriage Consuelo Delgado-Cordova. Ralph was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather. He will be forever remembered for his kind and gentle spirit, his devotion to his family, especially his wife Mary Joy, and his strong faith and devotion to the Lord. His zest for life was evident in his love of music, dancing, travel and his love of the family pets. He shared his vast knowledge, experiences, and stories with everyone he met. His sense of humor and ability to make us smile will be so greatly missed. Ralph proudly served his country during WWII where at age 18 he began his life long commitment to giving blood and will always be fondly remembered as the "50-gallon Man." He worked tirelessly for the US Immigration Service; even after his retirement, he was committed to helping others make a better life in the United States. In lieu of flowers, Ralph would feel especially blessed if donations of blood would be made in his name to the United Blood Services. ORTEGA -- Lucy Ortega, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2004 in Albuquerque at the age of 62. She was loved by all and will always be in our hearts and minds. Mrs. Ortega is preceded in death by her daughter, Geraldine Ortega. She is survived by her mother, Mabel Marquez; husband, Gilbert Ortega; sons, Larry Ortega and Deborah Armijo, Jason Ortega and wife, Kathy Ortega, and Jeremy Ortega; grandchildren, Issac Ortega, Jolene Ortega, Anthony Ortega, Dominique Ortega and Alexis Ortega; and great-grandchild, Raquel Hobbs. ROGERS -- Billy Chris Rogers, 25, a resident of Albuquerque, died on Monday, September 20, 2004. He is survived by his mother, Lori Rogers and Jerry McLellan; father, Bill Rogers; brother, Danny Rogers; and Geoffrey and Ashley McLellan, all of Albuquerque; aunts and uncles, Bobbie and Fred Sievert, Patti Carnes and Michael Lujan; grandparents, Betty Murphy, Donald Murphy, Shirley Lujan, Peggy McLellan, and Marge McLellan. He was preceded in death by grandfather, Loren Lujan, and Robyn McLellan. SANCHEZ -- Eric Sanchez, 24, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, September 20, 2004. He is survived by his father, Michael E. Sanchez; mother, Marcella A. Sanchez; brother, Christopher M. Sanchez; grandparents, Rebecca Sanchez and Ermelindo and Stella Marquez; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Eric graduated from Rio Rancho High School in 1998. Eric left us before his time but his impression on our lives will never dwindle. He was passionate about so many things. He was a singer and loved expressing himself on his keyboard. His family and friends knew how much he loved them through all the countless little things he did for them. TRUJILLO -- Joseph Angel Trujillo 1965-2004 Joseph Angel Trujillo, 39, a resident of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away on Friday September 17, 2004. He was born on July 14, 1965. He was a 1983 graduate of Mayfield High School in Las Cruces, and a 1989 graduate of New Mexico State University. He was employed by Intel Corporation in Albuquerque, but most recently in Colorado Springs. Joseph is survived by his loving family: his parents, Genoveva B. Trujillo of Arrey, NM and Joe L. Trujillo of Deming, NM; his brothers, Roger Trujillo and his wife, Donna of Albuquerque, Albert Trujillo and his wife, Karin of Bosque Farms, NM, and Ely Trujillo and his wife, Kaoru of Cumming, GA; his life-long mate and forever member of the family, Elena Zamora; his nephew, Roger Trujillo II; nieces, Amanda and Kassie Trujillo, Rachel Trujillo, Vanessa Molina, and Sara Trujillo; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving friends on Friday evening, September 24, beginning at 6:00 p.m., and a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at San Felipe De Neri Catholic Church, 2005 N. Plaza in Old Town Albuquerque. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday September 25 at 11:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church in Arrey, NM, with Father Don Hyatt officiating.
