MANNING -- A. Ralph Manning, 84, a resident of Albuquerque, went to the Lord September 19, 2004. He is survived by his wife Mary Joy of Albuquerque; son Scott and family of Florida; children through marriage Carl Garcia and wife Kristen of Dallas, TX, Tina Otteni and husband Ken, and Nina Garcia, all of Albuquerque; granddaughter Lisa Delgado of Albuquerque; cousin Ida Sibaja-Siros and husband Carlos Sr. and family of Woodland Hills, CA; cousin Elvita Tribaldos and family of Panama City, Panama; and son-in-law Pete Cordova of Albuquerque. He had a very special place in his heart for his dear friends at Albuquerque Care Center, Integrated Specialty Hospital, United Blood Services and his neighbors of many years. He was preceded in death by his daughter through marriage Consuelo Delgado-Cordova. Ralph was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather. He will be forever remembered for his kind and gentle spirit, his devotion to his family, especially his wife Mary Joy, and his strong faith and devotion to the Lord. His zest for life was evident in his love of music, dancing, travel and his love of the family pets. He shared his vast knowledge, experiences, and stories with everyone he met. His sense of humor and ability to make us smile will be so greatly missed. Ralph proudly served his country during WWII where at age 18 he began his life long commitment to giving blood and will always be fondly remembered as the "50-gallon Man." He worked tirelessly for the US Immigration Service; even after his retirement, he was committed to helping others make a better life in the United States. In lieu of flowers, Ralph would feel especially blessed if donations of blood would be made in his name to the United Blood Services. Services will be held Thursday September 23, 2004 at 6:30 p.m. at the Monte Vista Christian Church, 3501 Campus Blvd. NE. with Dr. MichelleTatlock officiating. French Mortuary 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE 275-3500
