COLELLA -- Gioacchino Colella, 93, a resident of Albuquerque since 1973, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2003. He is survived by sons, Frank Colella and wife, Isabel, and Felice Colella and wife, Maria; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pasqua Colella on February 25, 2003, and his daughter, Maria Elisa. Mr. Colella was a devout parishioner of The Shrine of St. Bernadette for over 30 years. He was a hard working soul who enjoyed helping others. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. Rosary will be recited Sunday, November 30, 2003, 5:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. with Deacon Byron Wicker reciting. FARQUER -- Beulah L. Farquer, 102. Beulah was called home by Our Lord Friday, November 28, 2003. She was born Wednesday, January 2, 1901 in Las Vegas, NM to Josephine Duncan Lowe and Arthur Lowe. She attended school in Las Vegas and Lamy, New Mexico where her father was an engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad. Her first job was as an telegraph operator for the Santa Fe Railroad in Glorieta, NM during WWI. She also worked for the railroad at several different stations until 1929. While working at the Wagon Mound Station she met and married Alfred W. Farquer. They settled in Wagon Mound and remained there for 50 years where they raised their children. Beulah was employed by the Wagon Mound Bank and remained there until she retired in 1981. She was a member of the NM Bankers Association, Member of the Mezapah Chapter #47 of the Order of Eastern Star in Roy, NM and was a Worthy Matron in Wagon Mound for the Union Chapter #61. She received a Service Award for the Salvation Army for 21 years of volunteer service. She belonged to United Brethren Church where she taught two generations of Sunday School children. Beulah and Alfred moved to Albuquerque in 1982 where Alfred continued to work for the A. McArthur Company where he had been employed for 63 years. Beulah is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Goetz of Santa Fe, NM; son, Alfred W. Farquer, Jr. and wife, Dolores Farquer; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Alfred, daughter, Joan Cox, 7 sisters, Edith Stemble, Mary Lowe, Louise Howe, Josephine Lowe, Emma Groth, Esther Goodman, Gordea Lowe; and 3 brothers, Duncan, Arthur and Jack Lowe; 3 grandsons, Arthur Goetz, Wesley and Bernard Farquer. She was the last remaining member of a family of 11 brothers and sisters. FOY -- Mary Frances Foy, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1960, passed away on November 25, 2003. She was born on February 20, 1923, in Oceola Township, WI. Mary was a teacher in a one-room school, as well as a signetics training instructor. She is predeceased by her husband James T. Foy, March 11, 1992. Survivors include daughter Mary Rose Duran of Tampa, FL; son-in-law George Duran of Canyon Country, CA; granddaughters Debra Muller and Michelle Duran; great grandchildren Cameron Duran, Mykayla Duran and Jessica Muller; sister Kathryn Havey of Greenfield, WI; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at 3:00 p.m. until the time of the Rosary held on Friday, November 28, 2003 at 7:00 p.m., in the chapel of Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 29, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd., with Fr. Richard Olona officiating. GARCIA -- Mrs. Tillie G. Garcia, 86, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on November 27, 2003. Mrs. Garcia is survived by her loving children, Agnes Humphrey, Ross Garcia Jr. and wife, Viola, Jerry Garcia and wife, Louise; seven sisters, Charlotte Serna, Lena Garcia, Stella Sandoval and husband, Bennie, Vergie Narvize and husband, Skip, Ruby Martinez and husband, John, Bea Baca, Rosemary Montoya and husband, Tony; two brothers, Gilbert Griego and wife, Mary, Augustine Griego and wife Joann; seven grandchildren, Thelma, Jim, Gary, Marvin Alex, Beverly, Deborah and Janet; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandson. Mrs. Garcia was preceded in death by her husband, Rosendo Garcia Sr. Mrs. Garcia was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos NW with a Rosary to be recited at 3:30 p.m. by Gabriella Nieto. A final visitation will be Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. by Father Joe Vigil. NOLASCO -- Juanita Baca Nolasco (Auntie), 99, born in Los Lunas, NM on June 10, 1904, died Nov. 27, 2003. She is survived by her step-children, Orlando, Reginaldo, Leo, Pearl, Beatrice, and Geraldine; brother-in-law, Meliton Nolasco; nephew, Eddie (Buddy) Chavez and his wife, Emma, caretaker for Juanita since the death of her only child, Clare; many nephews, nieces, friends and acquaintances. Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, Abelino and Perfelia Baca; husband, Viviano Nolasco and Clare (Mar 1999); brother, Felipe Baca; sisters, Eulalia, Isabel Martinez and Amalia Chavez. Juanita was a long time member of San Ignacio Catholic Church and lived her adult life in the Martinez Town area in Alb. NM. Viewing will be held Saturday morning from 9:00 - 9:30 a.m. Funeral services to follow at 9:30 with Deacon Merce Villareal, Celebrant. Interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. OTERO -- Lupe B. Otero, or "Gonga" as she was known by her family, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on November 27, 2003. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jesus, her son Jesse, her parents Leopoldo and Carlota Baca, and her brother Tony Baca. Survivors include her daughters Jessica Otero and Beatrice LaBerge and her husband David; grandsons Bryan LaBerge and his wife Allyson; Craig LaBerge and his life partner J.R Esparza; Adam Otero; Jared Otero; great granddaughter Kaitlyn LaBerge; her brother George Baca; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, November 30th from 3:00 - 6:00 PM at Salazar and Sons Mortuary. A Rosary is scheduled for November 30 at 7:00 PM at St. Anne's Parish. Funeral and burial plans are pending. ROMERO -- Mrs. Paula P. Romero, 79, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on November 27, 2003 with her loving family by her side and is now in heaven with her beloved husband of fifty-seven years, Mr. Florencio Romero who passed away on November 19, 2003. Mrs. Romero is survived by three daughters, Christina Salas and husband, Bob, Geneva Jinzo and husband, Delubino, Yvonne Chavez and husband, Joe; two sisters, Gloria Gabaldon and Aurora Sandoval; one brother, Lee Padilla; seven grandchildren, Lisa Gamboa and husband, Louie, Jodi Moya and husband, Monty, Terri Clark and husband, Larry, Kim Herrera and husband, Eric, Monica Chavez, Tanya Jinzo and Joseph Chavez; ten great grandchildren, Malorie, Ryan,and Brisa Gamboa, Desiree and Miranda Moya, Lawrence and Larri Ann Clark and Domonique Parra, Diego and Mia Herrera; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Romero was a member of the Catholic Church. SCHULTZ -- John Enoch Schultz, 69, lost his valiant battle with cancer November 22, 2003 in Rochester, MN. He was born in Bismarck, ND where he owned and operated the Schultz Creamery for 40 years then moved to Albuquerque in 1998. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Ballut Abyad Shrine. John attended St. John's United Methodist Church, where he was a Visiting Shepherd for shut-ins. He also gave much time as a volunteer for the Storehouse. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed sharing wild game with friends. He is survived by his wife of five years, Lola R. Eagle; sister, Carole Lung and husband, Charles; children, John and wife, Paivi, Tracy, Elizabeth, Andrew and Peter; three grandchildren. Also surviving are his step-children, David Eagle and wife, Colleen, Kathy and Kelly Eagle and Casey O'Hara; step-grandchildren, Mikelyna Eagle and Robert Eagle and wife, Tarae and son, Aaron. He also leaves many loving friends, as he never met a stranger. Cremation was performed by the Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, MN. A Memorial Service will be held at St. John's United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona, NE, Saturday, November 29, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. the Reverend Jim Hawk officiating.

SMITH-HOPKINS -- IN MEMORY VIRGINIA SMITH-HOPKINS November 27, 1958 - March 21, 2000 Virginia Smith-Hopkins, our "Ginny" was born on Thanksgiving Day, 1958, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She died suddenly and tragically March 21, 2000. She was a graduate of Eldorado High School, and a 1986 graduate of the University of New Mexico in Mechanical Engineering. At the time of her death Virginia was employed as a Mechanical Engineer at Palo Verde Nuclear Power Plant in Arizona. She was always very proud of her engineering education at UNM. Virginia was known for her kindness, her intelligence, graceful wit and sense of humor. She left behind her husband, Jim, and son, Daniel in Phoenix, her parents, Bill and Sara Dawn Smith, her brother, Dwight and his wife, Kimberly and their daughter, Mackenzie in Albuquerque, and her sister, Beth in Denver, Colorado. We mourn her loss daily. On this Thanksgiving Day we give thanks for the joy she brought into our lives throughout her life.

STURGEON -- Gladys I. Sturgeon, 79, of Waldron, AR died Tuesday, November 25, 2003 in Waldron. She was formerly of Albuquerque where she was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church. Memorial Service will be 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at Waldron United Methodist Church in Waldron under the direction of Fentress Mortuary in Fort Smith, AR. She is survived by two daughters, Diane Miller and her husband, Dale of Waldron, Linda Auld and her husband, Edwin of Germany; one son, Bobby L. Sturgeon and his wife, Wanda of Johnson City, TX; two sisters, Geneva Funderburke of Corpus Christi, TX and Bonnie Gange of Albuquerque; one sister-in-law, Ruth Gange of Elephant Butte, NM; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. WALLACE -- J.D. Wallace, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, died Thursday, November 27, 2003. He is survived by his daughter, Myrtie Sawyer of South Jordan, UT; sister-in-law, Olive Richardson of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Anne Pico and husband, Rex of Hot Springs, MT; and six great-grandchildren, Matthew, Shanna, Jessica, Charity, Andrew, and Sarah. He married Virginia Anderson in 1957 in Albuquerque and she preceded him in death in 2001. Mr. Wallace served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theatre of Command. In Albuquerque, he had worked as Sales Manager for Galles Chevrolet, Lloyd McKee, and then Melloy Dodge. He was known by many as a Super-Salesman. Mr. Wallace cared very much for all of the people he served. He was an excellent golfer and a member of the Albuquerque Seniors Golf Association. WILLIS -- Bernice Fite Willis, 78, beloved wife and mother, died on Monday, November 24, 2003. She is survived by her husband, Hank; daughter, Diane Terrill and husband, Bruce and their children, Scott Terrill and wife, Melissa and Nikki Terrill; son, Jon Willis and wife, Bonnie and their son, Jay; Richard Willis and wife, Patricia and their children, Joshua, Matthew and wife, Brita and Jessica; and Bernice's brother, Wilber Fite and wife, Alma. Bernice led a life of service to her family, her friends, and her Lord. She was an inspiration to many young people who attended her Bible study groups, and to the many she served as a volunteer at Kaseman Hospital and Montebello Nursing Home. Graveside services will be conducted for family members at Santa Fe National Cemetery. A Celebration of a Beautiful Life will be held Saturday, November 29, 2003, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, with Dr. Ron McConnell officiating.
