Dezettel -- Marcella Klasky Dezettel, 95, passed away on December 18, 2002 at Westwind house. Her body as worn out, but not her spirit. Husband, Louis, died 19 years ago."Marsh" was a longtime resident of Spector Shalom House in Albuquerque. Born, raised, and family connected in Chicago. Forever an enthusiastic Cubs fan, she was the last of the Klasky sisters. MKD is survived by her only child, Rae Dezettel Perls and son-in-law Stephen Perls; grandchildren, Bob Perls and Lynn Perls; great-grand-children, Aaron, Zack and Zoe Perls; special family members Joan Findley Perls, Brenda Broussard, and Leslie Jones, all of Albuquerque. She also leaves her nephew Al Richman and his family in Chicago and the Susan clan in Denver. The family will be receiving friends Friday, December 20, 2002 from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at her daughter's home. Cremation has taken place. Dorney -- Janell Dorney, 57, a resident of Albuquerque for many years, passed away on December 18, 2002. She is survived by her husband, John Dorney of Albuquerque; daughters, Marla Gregory and husband, Mark Leiker of Denver and Tammie Singer of Kansas City; son, Steven Dorney and wife, Erika and daughter, Kristin Dorney all of California; brother, Monroe Langley and wife, Rosemary of Albuquerque and father, James H. Langley and wife, Sarah of Albuquerque. She is also survived by five grandchildren. Janell was a loving wife, mother and homemaker whose hobbies include, painting, art, piano, music, cooking and sewing. She also had attended Rio Grande High School and The University of New Mexico. Service will take place on Friday, December 20, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at All Saints Lutheran Church, 4800 All Saints Rd. NW with Pastor Wangberg, officiating. Greene -- Doreen (Doe) Greene, 53, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2003. She dedicated her life to children, beginning as a kindergarten teacher at age 16. Most recently she loved being a nanny for Jackson and Hannah. She will be missed by husband, Don Greene; daughter, Heather Greene; son Shawn Greene and his girlfriend Rebecca Georgia; all of Albuquerque. From her home country of Canada, she is survived by her mother Alice Smith; Lindsey and Marie Smith; John Smith; Andrew and Bridgette Smith; Gail and Bill Peris; and five nephews. Her extended family in Albuquerque includes; Kathleen Greene; Patti Williams and Jim Beasly; Mickey and Terri Greene; and nieces and nephews; Marianne, Melissa & Michael Greene and Sam & Alexis Williams. Gutierrez -- Mr. Orlando Gutierrez, 68, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on December 18, 2002 peacefully at home in the arms of his loving family. Mr. Gutierrez is the beloved husband of 49 years to Mrs. Angie Gutierrez. Mr. Gutierrez is also survived by his loving children, Susan Biehle and husband, Bill, Debbie Torres and husband, Ruben, John Gutierrez and wife, Pam, Yolanda Lucero and husband, Leonard, Tony Gutierrez and wife, Myra, Loretta Ambrogi and husband, Anthony, Gina Chavez and husband, Mark, Orlando Gutierrez Jr., and Diane Chavez; his in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Rafael Facio; one brother, Albert Gutierrez; four sisters, Corine Gonzales and husband, Alfonso, Vivian Guillen and husband David, Margie Lucero and Ernestina Gutierrez; his brothers in law, Ralph Facio and David Facio; a sister in law, Esther Nunes; 19 grandchildren, Stephanie, Katherine, Vicente, Mario, Rhiannon, John Jr., Andres, Angelica, Anthony, Eric, Ryan, Joseph, Monet, Angelina, Amanda, Julie, Janelle, Andrew and Adam. Hunt -- David Arthur Hunt."We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8 David Arthur Hunt, 65, of Albuquerque, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 14, 2002. He will be remembered as a spiritual leader who devoted his life to sharing the love of the Lord with others. He enjoyed ministering to people, especially the elderly, and loved cooking for family gatherings, and joking with friends. He was employed by the Albuquerque Rescue Mission as the Learning Center Chaplain, and also was active in his community by serving as neighborhood president. He loved his job, serving as a mentor to many he lead to the knowledge of salvation through Jesus Christ. He is survived by his wife of six years, Linda Hunt; son, Joseph Hunt; and daughters, Diana Parham, Barbara Schmeits-Hapke and her husband, Scott Schmeits, Carla Hapke and Audrey Hapke. He is also survived by two children from his former marriage, a son Jeffrey Hunt and wife, Stephanie of Flower Mound, Texas; and a daughter, Jennifer Hunt Champlin of Kennedale, Texas. He was a devoted grandfather to ten grandchildren. Jordan, Lauren, and Brady Hunt, of Flower Mound, Blayne and Ryan Champlin of Kennedale, Serena Powdrell, Joshua and Rachel Parham, and Angela and Amanda Garcia, all of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his sister, Eleanor Caves, of Prineville, Oregon; and his brother, Wayne Hunt of Boring, Oregon; and four other brothers residing in the Spokane, Washington area. The Memorial Service will be held at First Family Church, 4701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, on Friday, December 20, 2002 at 9:30 a.m., interment at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Thanks to all who have kept our family in your prayers. Jaramillo -- Julia Torres Jaramillo, born in Kelly, New Mexico in 1914, passed away on Tuesday evening at UNMH, surrounded by her family. Her parents were Miguel T. Torres and Maria Lucero Torres. She was a resident of Albuquerque since 1948. She was a mother and homemaker most of her life. Julia attended the School of Mines, Socorro, NM and the University of New Mexico. She was a teacher in San Antonio, NM and at St. Mary's High School, Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband, Filbert A. Jaramillo; son, Michael Jaramillo; and sister, Winnie Dominguez. She is survived by children, John G. Jaramillo and wife, Anita of VA, Julianna Martinez, Priscilla Contreras of Zuni, NM.; daughter-in-law, Rose Jaramillo, Bella Wolfe and husband, Michael of AZ, Marie Fuentes, and Patricia Jaramillo and husband, Steve. She also leaves behind 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Sarah Pease of WA, Lucy Caine of AZ, and Josie Colluci; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Jaramillo was a member of St. Therese Parish for 48 years, the Legion of Mary, and the Los Volcanes Senior Center. She will never be forgotten by all that knew and loved her. Sincere thanks go out to the staff of the seventh floor at UNMH for their excellent care and loving concern for our mother during her last illness. Kezele -- Esther Danoff Kezele, 85, died Sunday, December 15, 2002. Esther was born January 24, 1917 in Danoffville, NM, 18 miles south of Gallup, which was homesteaded by her father, Sam Danoff. Esther moved to Gallup with her family when she was three years old. She has been a resident of Albuquerque since 1959. Esther worked for American Furniture Company for 30 years and was a member of Congregation Albert. Her life revolved around her family and work. She was a very independent woman who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Esther is survived by her brothers, Hyman Danoff and wife Bertha of Albuquerque, and Sidney Danoff and wife June of Tucson, AZ; sister-in-law, Armida Danoff of Santa Ana, CA; nephews, Michael Danoff and wife Margo of Albuquerque, Robert Danoff and wife Eve of Paradise Valley, AZ and Eric Danoff and wife Barbara of Piedmont, CA; nieces, Pamela Danoff Kraus and husband Robert of Santa Ana, CA and Kerry Danoff of Atlanta, GA; seven grandnewphews; one grandniece; and her close friend, Marlys Weinhold. Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; her son, Larry; and her brother, Isadore Danoff. Lopez -- Bernardino"Benny""Iron Man" Lopez, age 94, was born in"Atrisco" Albuquerque, NM. He passed away peacefully, December 17, 2002, at home with his family at his side, under the wonderful and compassionate care of Presbyterian Hospice. Benny married Amada Turrieta in 1940 and they resided in Five Points and Peralta, New Mexico. He worked and retired from the Santa Fe/Topeka Railroad, after 30 years of service, and continually farmed in Peralta. Benny and was a longtime member of St. Annes Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Albert Anthony Lopez and is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Amada of the family home; three sons, Frank Lopez of Albuquerque, David Lopez of Fresno, CA., and Billy D. Lopez of Albuquerque; two daughters, Mary Alice Lopez, and Dorinda Lopez-Espinoza and husband, Rick all of Albuquerque; five grandchildren, Michael, Richard, Lisa, Gabriela, and Adriana; two great-grandchildren, Deja and Richard Andres; numerous other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Parker -- Genevieve (Jennie) Parker, 58, passed away Saturday, December 14, after a very heroic 19-year battle with breast cancer. A 27 year resident of the Albuquerque/Cedar Crest area she is survived by her husband of 37 years, Dennis; son, Timothy of Albuquerque; niece, Heather Robsahm of Ventura, CA; brother, Steve Robsahm of Anacortes, WA. She was devoted to her family and friends. She was born in Santa Barbara, CA, to John and Irene Robsahm and graduated from Cal Poly at San Luis Obispo. Her love of the arts and crafts kept her involved in the community for many years with the Southwest Arts Festival and the NM Arts & Crafts Fair. She was always happy to give demonstrations to school children and displayed her work in galleries in NM, CA, OK, TX and MD. In recent years her passion for the game of golf resurfaced and she played with several ladies groups enjoying the rivalry and companionship until her illness prevented her participation. She and her love will be greatly missed by all of us. The footprints she has left behind are only those of joy and we know she is now pain free and safely with God. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Saturday, December 21st, 10:00 a.m., at The Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd NE, south of Paseo Del Norte. Pogostin -- Laura Rose Pogostin was born in The Bronx, New York in 1926 and was the eldest daughter of Charles and Betty Goldberg. She married Jerry Pogostin in 1946 and lived in The Bronx until 1956 when they moved to Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, New York. They lived there until 1985 when they retired to Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her sister, Francine Goldberg Bachrach; and her eldest son, Mitchell F. Pogostin. Laura is survived by her husband, Jerry Pogostin; her son, Chester L. Pogostin; her daughter-in-law, Carolyn M. Pogostin; and her two grandchildren, David R. Pogostin and Lindsey B. Pogostin. Rauen -- Stephen Paul Rauen, 15, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away December 16, 2002. He is survived by his parents, Bill and Louanne Rauen; sister, Jennifer Rauen; grandfather, George Rauen of Albuquerque; grandparents, Ruth and Marvin Schappet of Maryland; and aunts, uncles and cousins. Stephen was a Life Scout with Troup 200 working on becoming an Eagle Scout. His passion was culinary arts and he wanted to be a chef. He was a sophomore at Del Norte High School where he was a member and officer with Family Careers and Community Leaders of America. As a freshman, he was a member of the freshman football and track teams, competing in discus and shot put. Stephen loved animals. Scalia -- Guido"Mike" Scalia, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1952, died Tuesday, December 17, 2002. He is survived by his daughters, Linda Kaloczi and husband, Ted and Lisa Bennett and husband, Randy, and Lori Scalia, all of Albuquerque; one grandchild, Kris Kaloczi of Albuquerque; sisters, Josephine Fetsko and husband, John of Schenectady, NY and Mary Barshick of Marianna, PA; and brother, Joseph Scalia of North Olmstead, OH. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Scalia in February 2001. Mr. Scalia was a member of The Knights of Columbus. He was in the US Army and a veteran of WWII. Mr. Scalia retired after 23 years as an inspector for the City of Albuquerque. He was an avid sportsman and had a great love for the outdoors. Smith -- Winnifred (Winnie) M. Smith, 86, beloved mother, sister, and grandmother passed away Sunday, December 15, 2002 in Albuquerque. Her sudden passing will leave a huge void in the lives of her family. Winnifred was born on November 6, 1916 in Portales, NM to the late James L. May and Lula May Anderson. She attended school in Portales and was in the first freshman class at Eastern New Mexico University. She also attended Stephens College and graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught school in Portales until she met and married George W. Smith, Jr., who preceded her in death after a marriage of 52 years. Winnifred and her husband lived in Springer, Clayton, and Tucumcari, before moving to Albuquerque in 1965. Winnifred was a tough lady with courage, having suffered from Multiple Sclerosis for over 55 years. She was an inspiration to all those who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Shiplet and husband, Wayne; her granddaughters, Jennifer and Keri, who she loved deeply, of Albuquerque; her only brother, James A. May and wife, Elizabeth of Belen; and many family and friends. Her family would like to thank Delores Stewart and the staff of Golden Years for the love and care they gave Winnie the last few years. Williams -- Baby Andre Williams Jr., infant son to Andre Williams Sr. and Jerrica Sanders passed away on December 15, 2002 and is now one of God's Little Angels in Heaven. A Gaveside Service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Park Cemetery. Pastor William Brown officiating. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd SW in charge of the arrangements.
