Bartholomew -- Dr. Amy Bartholomew, 41, died Saturday August 3, 2001 after a hard three year battle with leukemia. Amy is survived by the love of her life, her friend and partner of the residence, Dr. Mitchell Levick; her daughters, Anelli, Charlotte, and Indie Rice, ages 12, 10, and 6; her stepsons, Nathan and Jordan Levick, ages 13 and 11; her mother Bernice Bartholomew; and her five siblings and their families, Jane and husband Ian Weir and their children Melissa Corrigan, Gregory and Michael, John and his son Matthew, Joe and his wife Christie Slye and their daughter Eve Wentworth, Shelley and husband Michael Treadway and their sone Peter, Melissa and husband John Tanner and their sons John and Ryan. She was preceded in death by her father Howard C. Bartholomew. Amy was born in Fort Worth, Texas. She received her undergraduate degree from Austin College and her M.D. from the University of Texas, San Antonio. Beyond her devotion to friends, family, and loved ones, her pride and passion was her work as a psychiatrist. She shared a mutually strong devotion to her family, and her children nourished her continually through her illness. Her influence upon all she knew and loved was that of a devout gardener and the blossoms of her garden will be perpetually in bloom. An angel has left the earth. Bergevin -- Kary (K.C) Bergevin, 44, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on August 5, 2001. Kary is the beloved husband of 24 years to Jeanie Bergevin. He is also survived by his daughter: Kara Bergevin; his parents: Bob and Rickie Bergevin; mother in law: Flora Mora; two sisters: Kathy Montantez and husband Anthony, Kim Davee and husband Clyde; one brother: Charles Bergevin II and wife Marie; his brothers and sisters in law: Charles Mora and wife Esther, Rick Mora and companion Augusta, Tina Jojola and husband Mike, Susan Quintana and husband Danny, Fredda Martinez and huband Michael; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his father in law, Fred Mora Jr., a sister, Deborah Bergevin and a brother, Bobby Bergevin. Kary was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Navy . A Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:30 at Our Lady of The Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd NW with visitaiton at the church after 7:00. Deacon Rene Grivel, reciting. Carter -- Samuel R. Carter, New Mexico native and lifelong resident passed away August 4 , 2001 at the age of 76. Sam was born in Carlsbad. New Mexico on May 19, 1925. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Sam was a hot air balloon pilot and a member of numerous hot air ballooning clubs, including the Balloon Federation of America. He was deeply and directly involved in the early days of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. He was a real estate broker, an inventor, and a miner in his own mines. He was preceded in death by brothers Robert Carter and Fabian Carter and a sister, Betty Carter Duffy. He is survived by a daughter, Gerri McArdle of Salt Lake City, UT, a son Russell Carter also of Salt Lake City, grandchildren Chris, Jenny, Shane, Gail and Randy, sister Ann Carter Cahill, cousins Ann White Stockdill, husband John, Melinda White Itoh, husband William, George W. White, wife Naida, John K. White, wife Helena and numerous second and third cousins, all who loved him dearly. Sam was an eternal optimist and a free spirit, someone who was truly happy. He never met a stranger, and the friends and family he left behind will sorely miss him and his generous nature. Chavez -- Joe O. Chavez, 64 beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother was called home to with the Lord Sunday, August 5, 2001. Joe was born in Albuquerque to the late Guadalupe and Irene Chavez. He was preceded in death by his son, Henry Hunick; his daughter-in-law Roseann Hunick; granddaughter, Melinda Hunick; and brother Frank Chavez. Joe is survived by his loving wife Beulah Chavez of the family home; a daughter, Rosie Tafoya of Albuquerque; five precious grandchildren, Ray, Irene, and Yolanda Maestas, Melanie and Eric Hunick; and three grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Esther Delfin and husband Eppie of Sacramento, CA, Mabel Sprunk and husband Joe, Sr. of Albuquerque; one brother John Chavez, and wife Yolanda of Sacremento CA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those who knew and loved him. Visitations for Joe will be today from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited this evening at 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Ray Maestas, Eric Hunick, Ric Sprunk, John Chavez, Amado Sanchez, and Conrad Encinas. Coleman -- Donald Coleman, 84, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2001. He was the son of Bessie Mae Coleman and Frank J. Coleman. He was born on May 20, 1917. Don is survived by his wife of 62 years, Claire; grandson, Joseph L. Coleman; daughter-in-law, Rose Ann Coleman; brother-in-law, John S. Hasling; sister-in-law, Arlene Hasling; three nephews; and two grand-nephews. He is also survived by his beloved dog,"Huck." Don was preceded in death by his son, Robert J. Coleman. Donald J. Coleman was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a friend to many. Don belonged to Temple Lodge #6, Scottish Rite of Santa Fe and Ballut Abyad Shrine. He was a member of the Shrine Band and Pearl Harbor Survivors. Cordova -- Trinnie Cordova, 85, a resident of Belen, peacefully passed away at St. Joseph Hospice unit surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 31,2001. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and a member of the Spanish Choir for many years. Trinnie had many accomplishments besides raising her nine children. She graduated from Beauty School, and went back to school and received her High School Diploma (which was very important to her.) She retired as Head Cook for the Belen Junior High School after ten years of dedicated service. She is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel R. Cordova in 1980; her son, Raymond Cordova in 1964; and her grand daughter Ericka Judson. She is survived by her eight children, Rosie Montoya and her husband, Henry of Belen; Ernie Cordova and his wife, Beverly of Lake Tahoe, NV; Ruben Cordova of Belen; Dennis Cordova of Florence, AZ; Margaret Montoya and her husband, Joe of Belen; Anna Upton and her husband, Tony of Belen; Toby Cordova, of Albuquerque; and Donna Bergevin and her husband Don of Severn, MD; seventeen grandchildren, Theresa Marshall; Ramona Quesenberry; Monica and Juan Cordova; Dana Cobleigh; Raymond Cordova; Lea Hicks; Tara and Christina Cordova; Jon; Corine ; Chris and Cindy Cordova; Todd Montoya; Derek Judson; and Jason Cordova; thirteen great grandchildren, Scott McLain; Raven and Miles Quesenberry; Ryan, Brandon and Jillian Colbeigh; Haley and Aaron Hicks; Curtis and Shay Cordova; and Danielle, Jonathan and Christina Martinez. The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 8:00AM on Friday, August 3 at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment was in the Parish Cemetery. Davalos -- Edith St. John Davalos passed away peacefully at her home in Albuquerque on Saturday, August 4, 2001. She was born in San Marcial, NM, moving to Albuquerque with her parents as a young girl. She is survived by a brother, John J. Gonzales of California; numerous nieces and nephews; many friends; and a very special dear friend, Felipe Hernandez. A special thanks to the hospice group headed by Anne Letherer, and also Doris Eichel and her devoted group (Sharon, Christy and Rozina) that were a great help to Edith, especially the last few months. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Martha Herrera reciting. Frinkman -- Ed Frinkman, 68, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964, passed away at home on August 2, 2001. Ed is survived by his four children, Erin O'Neil and husband, Jack, of Sandia Park, NM; Jay Frinkman and wife, Lourdes, of Albuquerque; Evan Jellesma and husband, Mike, of Scottsdale, AZ; and Tim Frinkman of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Eric Richstad, of Vancouver, WA; his former wife, Maryo; and two grandchildren, Thomas and Lauren Frinkman. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, John and Molly Frinkman, and brother Tom Frinkman of Vancouver, WA. Ed served in the Navy and graduated from the University of Washington in 1958. He began his career with Boeing in Seattle. He worked for EG&G in Las Vegas, Nevada and in 1964 became one of the original staff members of the EG&G office in Albuquerque. Later Ed worked for Ross Aviation in Albuquerque, from which he retired in 1991. Ed enjoyed golfing and was an avid fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Washington Huskies, and liked to travel to their games. He had many friends at the American Legion Post 49, VFW Post 401 & Moose Lodge. Services will be held at French Mortuary - Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 9, 2001. Interment to follow, at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Gonzales -- Rudy R. Gonzales, passed away on Saturday August 4, 2001. He was born in Colonias, N.M. on January 21, 1932. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served two years in Korea where he had the distinction of reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant in under two years, then a record. Upon his discharge, he and his parents, Leonard and Mela M. Gonzales purchased and managed Dee's Bar in Santa Rosa for five years. He then attended the University of New Mexico for 2 years after which he transferred to New Mexico Highlands where he received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in 1961 followed by a masters degree from the American Institute for foreign trade, Phoenix, Arizona. His employment as International Sale Manager with Emerson Electric gave him the opportunity of traveling to many foreign countries, from the Middle East, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Europe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonardo and Mela Gonzales; two sisters, Pita (Rita) Urban of Artesia, N.M. and Angie Dunn of Indiana; two brothers, Anthony Gonzales of Las Cruces, N.M. and Johnny Gonzales of Santa Rosa, N.M.; 3 nephews, Steven, Ernest, and Gene Gonzales; and a niece, Ida Aguilar. He is survived by two brothers, Leonard Gonzales of Santa Rosa, and Gene Gonzales of Espanola. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August, 8 2001 at 12:30 p.m. at the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe at 2:00 p.m. The family of Rudy Gonzales has entrusted his arrangements to DeVargas Funeral Home of the Espanola Valley.

Goodmann -- David H. Goodmann, 79, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away at Lovelace Medical Center on Saturday August 4, 2001 of cancer. David was born in Dubuque, Iowa to parents Dominic and Mary Goodmann. He served in the Army WWII in the European Theater. In 1951 he married Jean Faha and they moved to Albuquerque in 1953. Dave was involved in the real estate development of the North East heights and also worked for Sproul and Horizon corporations. He moved to Arizona in the 70's before returning to Alb. In the 80's where he made his final home. Dave worked for Melloy Datsun and Ken Johns car dealerships where he was a top salesman receiving many awards and was known for his integrity. In his retirement he enjoyed gardening and the company of friends at the Solo Club. Dave was preceded in death by his first wife Jeanne, Mother, Father, sister Evie Hankins, and brother Dan Goodmann. He is survived by son Drew Goodmann and wife Loretta of Alb. , daughter Amy Goodhue and husband John of Maple Grove, MN, former wife Helen Conlon, brother Dominic Goodmann, sisters; Babe Shimp, and Rosie Goodmann, and six grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends who loved and will miss him deeply. Guiterrez -- Fermin Guiterrez joined our Lord on Sunday, August 05, 2001 at the young age of 24. He was a resident of Belen and a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Fermin attended Belen High School. He loved the outdoors and never missed a chance to go hunting and fishing. He also played football and was a wrestler. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Fidel P. Silva; his maternal great-grandparents, Juan U. and Vivian Montoya; his paternal great-grandparents, Gregorio and Eduvijen Gutierrez and his loving cousin Monica Montoya. He is survived by his son, Fermin Jonathan Gutierrez; his father, Stanley Gutierrez; his mother, Lydia Gallego and his stepfather Fernando Gallego, all of Belen; his siblings, Janelle Otero and her husband Andrew and their son Andres of Los Lunas, Samantha Gallego, of Belen; Rudy Gallego of El Paso, Texas; and Candice Gutierrez, of Belen; his paternal grandfather, Fermin R. "Pompa" and Frances Guiterrez; and paternal grandmother, Tillie Gutierrez, all of Belen; and his maternal grandmother, Margaret A. Chavez,. He is also survived by many loving uncles, aunts, and cousins. A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, 5:30pm at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church with a Rosary following at 6:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, 9:00am at Our Lady of Belen with Interment in the Parish Cemetery. Haversett -- James Clifford Wills Haversett, 81, died Saturday, July 28, 2001. He was a native of Pennsylvania and became a lifelong resident of N.M. Jim requested no services and will be laid to rest in Pennsylvania. Children, grandchildren, and beloved cats survive him."JC" was a veteran and a civil engineer. He assisted in construction of the downtown Public Library and the Museum of Natural History. He was a member of the Albuquerque Sister Cities Foundation and of New Mexico Animal Friends. Krumm -- Judith Anne Krumm died August 2, 2001 in Lochbuie, CO. She was born November 14, 1945, Silver City, New Mexico. A memorial service will be held Wednesday August 8, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Family Chapel in Lakewood, CO. Survivors include her father Allen Krumm and his wife Juyn of Albuquerque; her mother Elizabeth Williams and her husband Arthur of Northglenn, CO; her sisters Kris Ford of Albuquerque, Jackie Mathis and her husband Randy of Brighton, CO, and Patti Vecchioni and her husband Vince of Thornton, CO; brothers Allen Krumm of Albuquerque, Robert Orr and his wife Mary of Flower Mound, TX, Ross Orr and his wife Alexandria of Goodyear, AZ, and Randal Orr and his wife Jan of Albuquerque. Judy was a graduate of the University of New Mexico. She recently retired from the U.S. Department of Energy where she worked for 25 years in the Albuquerque Operations Office before transferring to the Rocky Flats Field Office in 1991. Judy was vibrant and outgoing - made of love and laughter. She adored her family and friends and doted affectionately on her nieces and nephews. Liguori -- Helen D. Liguori, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951, died Friday, August 3, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Pasquale A."Pat" Liguori; sons, Gerard Liguori and Michael Liguori and wife, Ellen, all of Albuquerque; daughter, Patricia M. Linebarger -- Jack Linebarger, 81, of Albuquerque, died in his home on Sunday, August 5, 2001. He is survived by his children, Jackie and Lawrence Smith, Toni Linebarger, Linda Tiley, Laurie Maestas and her husband, Rudy; 11 grandchildren, Dusty, Heather, Aron, Rick, Melanie, Gabe, Micah, Pat, Sara, Michael and Shelley; 9 great-grandchildren, Brad, Ryan, Jordan, Jensen, Richard, Michael, Dylan, Jason and Billy; sisters, Edna Mae Holmes and Norma Jean Walker and husband, Bill; and much loved nieces and nephews. Mr. Linebarger was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Jesse. He was born October 3, 1919 in the town of Quanah, TX to Jacob Sherman Linebarger and Lola Elizabeth Rockholt. He was raised in Servielleta, NM. Jack served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and was stationed in Hawaii. On October 22, 1939 he was united in marriage to Gwendolyn Sawyer in Taos, NM. They were married for 31 years and lived in Albuquerque for 47 years. He worked road construction for many years, helping to build many of New Mexico's roads and also helped build Cochiti Dam. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. This beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather lived a much too simple life and gave up many basic comforts to help his family."Dad, we're so glad that we didn't have a politically correct dad. We had a dad with an attitude! You're going to bless heaven with your kind, beautiful soul and the most glorious garden the angels have ever seen". Lucero -- Anthony A. "Senator" Lucero, 80, died, Thursday, August 2, 2001 in Seattle, WA due to complications of pneumonia and cardiac arrest. He was born March 5, 1921 in historic Old Town to father, Bacilio Bart Lucero and mother, Dolorita Dolores Lucero. His beloved wife, Flora Z. Lucero passed away on May 16, 1994. They raised their family of six children in Albuquerque's Los Duranes neighborhood. Tony was a World War II Army Veteran and served in the State House of Representatives (District 6) for two years, then in the State Senate (District 13) for 10 years. Senator Lucero was a well-liked politician who served his community with pride and compassion. He was a great storyteller with fond memories of his days growing up in Albuquerque, his World War II days, and most of all his time as a politician. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and spoke very highly of them all. He loved his wife, Flora, dearly and especially missed her cooking. He stressed to his children and everyone else the importance of an education and being an American. He loved to eat and loved to talk. He had many, many friends and family members and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his six children, Anthony E. Lucero, Jr., Esther M. Lucero-Miner, her husband, John Miner, Mariana E. Montoya -- Jose Cardenio Montoya, Sr., 80, a resident of Ranchos de La Joya, peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 05, 2001. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in La Joya, NM. He proudly served his country with the US Army in Germany during WWII. Pino -- Antonio G. Pino, age 96, went home to our Lord August 6, 01. He was born December , 1904 in San Acacio, New Mexico to Manuel Antonio and Cleofas Pino. He lived most of his life in Magdalena, New Mexico, moving to Albuquerque in 1965. Antonio was preceded in death by his wife, Louisa; son, Salvador; daughter, Mary Magdalene; daughter-in-law, Grego Pino; sons-in-law, Bacilio Gomez and Terry Biggs; and grandson, Bob Aragon. He is survived by four daughters, Esther Gomez, Josephine Biggs, Beulah Aragon and husband, Robert, Grace Aragon and husband, Roy; four sons, Paul and wife, Esther, Louis and wife, Mary Ellen, Jim Pino and Lana Hudson, and Sam Pino; 27 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; brothers, Ray Pino and Ricardo Pino and wife, Mary; sister, Chena Benavidez; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rhoads -- Howard C. Rhoads, 46, beloved son and brother was called home to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 1, 2001. Mr. Rhoads was born in Riverside, CA to the late Harold C. Rhoads and Mary Eva Campos Rhoads. He was a life long resident of Albuquerque, he resided at the Copper Ave. Group Home. He enjoyed travel, automobiles and avian studies. Richardson -- Grace Elizabeth (Young) Richardson, local resident of Owasso, died Thursday, August 2, 2001, at the age of 89 years. She was born September 5, 1911, at Schuyler, Nebraska, to Frank and Mary (Motacek) Young. She was reared and educated in the Columbus, Nebraska area, and graduated with the Columbus High School Class of 1929. She continued her education at the University of Nebraska graduating in 1934 with a Bachelors os Science Degree in Education. She was married June 10, 1934, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to William N. "Bill" Richardson. In 1948 they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Grace began teaching school in 1954. She graduated in 1961 with her Masters Degree in Counseling and Guidance from the University of New Mexico. Most of her teaching career was at Woodrow Wilson Junior High School in Albuquerque, wher she taught Latin and social studies before becoming their counselor. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Albuquerque where she taught Sunday School for 40 years. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including gardening and reading. She and Bill traveled to Alaska, New England, New Zealand, and Australia, before making Owasso their home in 1997. Lovinf family members include: Son and daughter-in-law, Bill F. and Flo Richardson of North Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Joy Richardson Biscotto and her husband, Mark, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Jay Richardson and his wife, Heather, of Frisco Texas, Pat Foster Golightly and her husband, Ryan, of Owasso, Michael Foster, of Owasso; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Leah Richardson, and Sara Biscotto; sister abd brother-in-law, Hazel and Lloyd Naden, of Franklin, Nebraska; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Orrin and Vivian Richardson, of Mission, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Richardson, on July 24, 1999, and one sister, Edith Williams. Phyllis was a member of the Klamath Indian Tribe. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her entire family. Dr. Stryjewski, 88, died Saturday August 4, 2001 at his home. Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Dr. Stryjewski was born October 29, 1912 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Wawrzyniec Stryjewski and Czelsawa (Wiechowski) Stryjewski. On August 12, 1938, he was married to Mary E. Mulford in Kirksville, Missouri. He came to Artesia in January 1946 from Jacksonville, Missouri. She preceded him in death August 15, 1992. He was a Physician and member of the baptist denomination, Mason, American Osteopathic Association, Oddfellows, active at the Senior Center, past member and President of the Artesia Board of Education. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Roman Stryjewski, a grandson Eric Sujka. Survivors include daughters Susan Sujka of Albuquerque, NM, Bonnie Sego of Los Lunas, NM, Syliva Johnson of Cottonwood, NM; brother Stanley Stryjewski of Davenport, Iowa; sisters Laura Kulas of West Allis, Wisconsin Agnes Mohalski Chesterine Koth, Sophia bruskiewitz, Casmira Tanty all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; grandchildren Rachael Sego, Benjamin Sego and Ashley Sego all of Los Lunas. Telles -- Bernadette (Bernie) G. Telles left this world in the early morning hours of August 3rd, 2001 with her son Arthur by her side. Bernie was born in Old Town in Albuquerque on August 20, 1913.
