Bradician -- Alexander"Alex" Bradician, 52, a local Belen businessman, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 1999. Alex was born on September 22, 1947 in Soca, Romania to Jiva Bradician and Iustina Suvaciar Bradician. He was preceded in death by his father, Jiva in 1985. Alex is survived by his loving wife, Cata of the family home in Belen; his mother, Iustina; two daughters, Vera Rusimovici and her husband, Jadran of Ridgewood, NY, and Borca of Albuquerque; one granddaughter, Vesna Rusimovici. He is also survived by many loving relatives who still live in Romania. Alex was in the gasoline business for ten years in the Belen and Albuquerque area. He is remembered as a caring and giving person, who always accepted people for what they were. Alex tried very hard to help everyone in which he came in contact with. He was special friend to many people who loved him and will dearly miss him. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 12:30 p.m., at Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen.

Buchalter -- Dorothy F."Dottie" Buchalter, 68, a nine year resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away suddenly following vacation to Hawaii on Saturday, November 13, 1999, from complications after heart surgery in La Jolla, California. She was born in Morris County, TX, near Daingerfield, TX on September 26, 1931 to Elsie Mae and Benford L. Pomeroy of East Texas, and was the 1st of eight children. She married Alfred"Buck" Buchalter, her husband of nearly 48 years on April 12, 1952 in Fresno, CA. She accompanied him during his 20 year career in the U.S. Air Force to assignments all over the United States and Germany. The couple resided in Lubbock, TX for approximately 17 years, eventually retiring in Albuquerque, NM. She was a licensed cosmetologist vocational instructor in Lubbock, TX for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, homemaking, and travel. She is survived by her husband Alfred"Buck" Buchalter of Albuquerque; son, Michael Buchalter and his wife, Elizabeth of Lake Dallas, TX; grandsons, Quentin Buchalter of Lake Dallas, TX and Clifford Buchalter of Highpoint, NC; sisters, Martha Joe Maples of Jefferson, TX, Vela Mae Pace of Dike, TX; Betty Sue Kipfer of Tyler, TX; brothers, J.P. Voight of Marshall, TX, James Wade Pomeroy of Marshall, TX, Charles Pomeroy of Farmers Branch, TX and Benny Pomeroy of Texas; along with many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. She will be greatly missed by her family, many friends, and neighbors. Cremation has taken place. De Vore -- Gerald"Jerry" E. De Vore, 66, a resident of Albuquerque for 1 1/2 years, died Thursday, November 18, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dorothy J. De Vore of the family home; son, Curtis V. De Vore and wife, Charlotte of Dallas, TX; daughter, Debora Casey and husband, Paul of Birmingham, AL; grandson, Justin Smith of Lubbock, TX; granddaughters, Danielle and Carolyn Casey of Birmingham, AL; mother, Grace Sackman of Mesa, AZ; brother, Monte De Vore and wife, Nancy of Mesa, AZ; and nieces, Jennifer Miller and Kimberly De Vore of Birmingham, AL. Mr. De Vore was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He lived most of his life in Phoenix, AZ and El Paso, TX. He worked as a Nuclear Engineer for the Atomic Energy Commission in Idaho Falls, ID and General Dynamics in Ft. Worth, TX. Mr. De Vore earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas, El Paso, TX. He did graduate work at the University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ. De Vore -- Gordon R. De Vore, 52, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, entered the arms of Jesus, Thursday evening, November 18, at his home in the presence of his family. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sue De Vore; three daughters, Erin O'Donnell and husband, Charles, Sara De Vore and Laina De Vore, all of Albuquerque; two sisters, Patricia Ann (Pat) Howard and husband, Robert, Debbie Mitchell and husband, Mike; and one brother, Scott De Vore and wife, Rita, all of Albuquerque; two grandchildren, Kurik Ray Brown and Mikelle Lynn O'Donnell; his uncle, Kenny and aunt, Mary Lou Eilar; and his parents-in-law, Jim and Maxine Harrington; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon K. De Vore and Patricia De Vore. Gordon and his family attended Hoffmantown Church. He was a member of Promise Keepers; he attended the conference in Denver, CO, and had plans to attend other conferences. He was a member of LATSE. He was a Vietnam Veteran, service in the US Navy on ships, USS Putnam and the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. He was very supportive of the Transplant Services of New Mexico because of his own heart transplant in 1993. He was a fun loving and very courageous man; was an inspiration to all who knew him. One phrase that best described Gordon is"To Never Give Up." Harper -- Leroy V. Harper, age 87, passed away November 17, 1999. He had been a resident of Albuquerque since 1957. He retired from the Air Force in 1962 after serving for 27 years. He was born in Choctaw, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife Mary, of 59 years; son, John Harper; daughter, Leanne Gideon; grandsons, John D. Harper and Timothy A. Kelley -- Onetia May (Nettles) Kelley, age 90, a resident of Albuquerque for 50 years, died Thursday, November 18, 1999. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Otis Kelley; daughter, Jean Leonard of Albuquerque; son, Dr. Robert Kelley and wife, Marcia of Laramie, WY; grandson, Edward Leonard and wife, Cynthia of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Eydee Van Atta and husband, Robert of Lakewood, CA, Mona Krogstad and husband, Steve of Sidney, MT, Jennifer Kelley of Albuquerque, and Karin Gerdts and husband, Michael of Columbus, OH; great-grandson, Scott Van Atta of Lakewood, CA; and great-granddaughters, Sky Van Atta of Lakewood, CA, Rachel Lee and Alyson Lee of Sidney, MT, and Nicole Leonard of Albuquerque. Onetia was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Nettles of Clovis; sister, Elva Phillips of Greeley, CO; and brother, Elgin Nettles of Tucson, AZ. She was born in Groesbeck, TX, and at age eight came with her family to a homestead near Yeso, NM. In 1921, the family moved to Clovis, where Onetia attended public schools and was graduated from high school in 1927. She attended West Texas State Teacher's College, Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles, and the University of Southern California, where she earned the B.A. degree. She studied art at the University of New Mexico, and independently with Kenneth Adams, Randall Davies, Eneique Montenegro, Frederick Taubes and George Cherepov. For over 40 years she was a still life and landscape artist. She had one-person shows at the Santa Fe Art Museum, the Four Hills Country Club, and at the Lovelace Research Building. She was a member, and one-time president of the Nor Este Art Association, the National League of American Pen Women, New Mexico Art League, American Association of University Women, and was listed in Who's Who of American Women. Onetia grew up in a Christian home, and was baptized by Mr. George Mickey at Yeso in 1921. She had a lifetime of service in several congregations of the Church of Christ. King -- 1974-1999 Todd Q. King, 25, a resident of Belen, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 1999. He was preceded in death by his father, Bert King; and three brothers, Brad, Robin and Kim King. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara King; and his daughters, Erin, Megan and Cassie (who will be born in March); his mother, Tillie C. King of Belen; one sister, Suzy Amestoy of Belen; six brothers, Donald, Delbert, Richard, Edward and Tim King, and Russell Montoya; and many loving uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. Lee -- Mrs. Hutson (Anna deZeumar) Lee, age 100, died peacefully Thursday evening, November 18, 1999 at a local nursing home. She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Williams and husband, The Reverend Canon B. McK. Williams of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Captain Carol Copeland and husband, Leonard of Tinker A.F.B. in Oklahoma City, OK; great-grandson, Spencer Copeland; and nephews, Kenneth Hands of Mt. Airy, MD and Don lee Hands of Catonsville, MD. A resident of Albuquerque since 1986, she was a member of the Cathedral Church of St. John, and followed her pattern of being active in church affairs. Born in Baltimore the eldest of five, she was sent to work as a seamstress in a flag, banner and pennant shop at fourteen years of age to help her widowed mother keep the family together. She worked there learning fine needlework until her marriage. During those years, she was frequently called upon to use her trade at home to assist the shop. She was the only one who could make a silk Maryland flag with its completed heraldric design by hand. One of her flags was for the Washington Cathedral Church of St. Peter and St. Paul. Mrs. Lee was also known for her volunteer work with the Red Cross and the U.S.O. during World War II and also at the Maryland General Hospital in Baltimore. Using her skills as a seamstress, she made may items for leprosy missions, layettes for indigent mothers as sell as for children and Veterans. The Funeral Requiem will be Tuesday, November 23, 1999, 10:00 a.m., at the Cathedral Church of St. John, 318 Silver SW, with the Very Reverend David F.K. Puckett, Dean, officiating. Interment will take place on Friday, November 27, in Baltimore's Woodlawn Cemetery with her husband of 56 years, Hutson Lee, Jr. A gathering time for family and friends will be at the Cathedral at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday before the Service. Lopez -- Mrs. Fabiola"Viola" Vallez Lopez died on Wednesday at the age of 66. Pacheco -- Manuel"Shore" or"Shortie" Joe Pacheco, 48, a resident of Alameda, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 1999. Ramsey -- Patti McCrary Ramsey, 48, of Farmington, died November 16, 1999, in Farmington. She fought a courageous battle against cancer and was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She was born December 28, 1950 in Albuquerque. Patti attended Valley High School and the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Education from UNM. In 1980, she and Charles Ramsey were married in Farmington. Before their marriage, Patti worked five years for El Paso Natural Gas at the Chaco Plant in the Corrosion Department. Patti was an educator. She was a teller trainer at the First National Bank in Albuquerque, did volunteer work at Ladera Elementary School, taught fourth grade at McKinley Elementary School, and took great pride in her Sunday School classes at St. John's Episcopal Church. She won the John Phillip Sousa Award twice in junior high school for flute, was a spelling bee winner twice, and a baton twirler. She graduated 10th in her high school class. In 1988, Patti helped form the South West Kidney Support Group. She is survived by her husband, Charles Ramsey; son, Zachary Ramsey; parents, Lester and June McCrary; sister, Mrs. Ray (Diane) Ayers; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray Ayers, Scott and Linda Ramsey, and Ross and Christine Ramsey. Services are at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 1999, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 312 N. Orchard Ave., in Farmington, conducted by Father Carl Brenner. Serna, age 68, lifelong residents of Grants and Cubero, New Mexico, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 1999, due to an automobile accident near Los Lunas. Both wee members of Our Lady of Light Catholic Church in Cubero. Our Dad, Ernesto was born in Sawyer, NM; our Mom, Frances was born in Cubero, NM. They were united in marriage on May 5, 1947 and soon after made their home in Cubero up until their untimely death. Our Dad was a member of the Grants Fire Department, a painter and a miner with the Grants uranium mines for over 30 years. He was also a rancher and a jack of all trades. There wasn't anything our Dad couldn't fix. He was very well known throughout the area and anyone who knew our Dad will never forget his laughter and stories behind his smile. He was a person that always went out of his way to help anyone that needed him, and we all needed him quite often. Anytime something went wrong with any of us, we all knew that Mom and Dad would see us through. Our Mom, Frances was a devoted wife and mother, who throughout her life, lived for our father and the 13 of us. We could always count on our Mom to be there for us, her laughter, and the sparkle in her eye will be remembered forever. Frances C. Serna was preceded in death by her grandmother, Alcaria Sanchez Jaramillo; her father, Alejandro Chavez; mother, Natividad; brothers, Ruben and Martin Chaves; granddaughter, Alcadia Baca; and sons-in-law, Jenaro Martinez and James Abbott. Ernesto F. Serna was preceded in death by his father, Amado; mother, Delores; brothers, Amado Jr., Max and Leandro; sisters, Lucy, Jaunita and Flora; sons-in-law, Jenaro Martinez and James Abbott; and granddaughter, Alcadia Baca. Ernesto and Frances are survived by 13 children; their eight daughters are Marlene Martinez of Albuquerque, Angela and her husband, Nickie Baca of San Fidel, Annette and her husband, Louis St. Martin of Elko, NV, Dorothy and her husband, Ed Rodriguez of Moriarty, Sylvia Abbott of Gracemont, OK, Irene and husband, Raul Maldonado of Gracemont, OK, Lucy and husband, Robert Lolley of Belen, and Anjanette and her husband, Ken Woodby of Albuquerque; five sons, Mitchell and wife, Cathy Serna of Bernalillo, Ruben and wife, Beverly Serna of Tijeras, Alex and wife, Trinidad of Veguita, Ernest Serna Jr. of Moriarty, and Andrew Sanchez of Albuquerque; 27 grandchildren, Celeste, Adam, Nickolette, Pro Copio, Darquiese, Colten, Amanda, Monique, Linda, Allen, Brant, Phillip, Brian, Rosemary, Jacob, Gabriel, Jasmine, Jennifer, Jason, ShellMarie, Amber, Jesse, Candace, Joseph, Carlos, Joshua, Ernest III, and Breanne; and eight great-grandchildren, Ashley, Andre, April, Austin, Hannah and Danielle. Ernesto Serna is survived by one sister, Isabelle Rougemont of Grants; his sister-in-law, Dulciena Chavez of Albuquerque; and several nieces and nephews along with brother and sisters-in-law. Frances Serna is survived by five sisters, Loraine and husband, Moises Gonzales of Belen, Louisa and husband, Sammy Martinez of Belen, Della and husband, Warren Maxey of Grants, Maryann and husband, Eloy Jaramillo of Grants and Ruby and husband, Joe Sena of Seboyeta. The Rosary will be Sunday, 7:30 p.m., at Our Lady of Light Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Light Catholic Church, with Fr. Antonio Trujillo, OFM officiating. Burial will follow at Cubero Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ernest Serna Jr., Phillip Serna, Alex Serna, Mitchell Serna, Eloy Jaramillo and Jimmy Candelaria. They both had a vigor for life and together faced many hardships and illnesses, but they saw each other through it all together, and together is how they left. We will all live for the hope of seeing them again in the resurrection where we will all be together as a family again. Tabacchi -- Josephine M. Tabacchi, beautiful and precious mother and aunt, returned to the arms of Jesus on Thursday, November 18th. A lifelong resident of New Mexico, she was preceded in death by her husband, John C. (Charley) Tabacchi; daughter, Constance Lee; brothers, Henry E. Umhoefer and John J. Umhoefer; and sisters, Eleanor Watt and Bertha A. Greer. She is survived by her daughter, Gloria; great-niece, Jan Heinen and husband, Russ Gent of Tijeras; nephews, Don Umhoefer (Mary Lee) of Houston, TX, Ralph Umhoefer (Marian) of Las Vegas, NV; and other family members and friends throughout the country. Spirited and adventurous, loving and compassionate, Josephine was happiest in the great outdoors, either on horseback or hiking the trails of New Mexico, which she enjoyed into her mid 80s. She was loved by all who knew her and will live in our heart forever. God grant rest to the"Best in the West." She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, where the visitation at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday will be followed by recitation of the Rosary. He was a baseball umpire for all Pueblo Indian Leagues, volunteer assistant basketball coach at Jemez Valley High School, an AAU Basketball coach, and volunteer tutor. He was an Honor Guard for Jemez Pueblo and for Jicarilla Apache Veteran Association. Fred was a member of the Jemez Pueblo Mission Catholic Church. Fred enjoyed motorcycles and horses. Vigil -- Carmel R. Vigil Sr., 78, beloved and devoted father, grandfather and brother, was called home to be with the Lord, Friday, November 19, 1888. Vodian -- Jacqueline Joy Shipman Vodian, 56, a resident of Albuquerque since 1974, died Tuesday, November 16, 1999. Jacqueline is survived by her husband of 30 years, Ronald H. Vodian; daughter, Nicole L. Vodian; and four beloved cats. Mrs. Vodian was preceded in death by her father, Sherman Shipman; and her mother, Aileen Watson Shipman. She was born in Fresno, CA. Having received her BA at the University of New Mexico and her MA at the University of Colorado, she worked for nine years at the University of New Mexico as a guidance counselor, and most recently as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Jacqueline was past president of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra Guild, a member of the Albuquerque Junior League, a member of the Santa Fe Opera Guild, and a volunteer for Casa Angelica. She will always be remembered for her love of family, friends, animals, music and beauty. Watson -- Severn H."Bud" Watson,"the Tile Maker", a resident of the Pojoaque valley area for 35 years, died Wednesday, November 17, 1999, after a lengthy battle with emphysema. Watson was born October 13, 1933 in Mineral Wells, Texas, a third generation tile maker. He founded Tiles de Santa Fe, in Cuyamungue in 1971. He was highly regarded for his knowledge and expertise and in all areas of the tile business. He continued, until his death, to be a constant resource of inspiration for his family and a continuing source of knowledge for community members involved in the making and setting of ceramic and clay tile, as well as firing and glazing. He loved working with his hands and even after his retirement he continued to be known and respected for his hand crafted artistic products. After his retirement, Watson was passionate about traveling and gardening until his illness intervened. His wife, Gene Watson, of 48 years, survives him along with their seven children; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
