Becker -- Marsha Becker passed away from cancer in Panama City, FL on March 3rd. Marsha is remembered by her daughter, Julie and husband, Steve of Panama City; and her son, Jeff and wife, Missy of Augusta, GA. She is also remembered by eight brothers and sisters; and many friends throughout the country. Marsha worked for Kirkland AFB and was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Albuquerque. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Holy Cross at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 13th. Placement of her ashes will be in Moline, IL.

Briggs -- Emile Thomas"Tom" Briggs, 68, a resident of Albuquerque since 1959, died Sunday, March 7, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia of the family home; sons, Tom and wife, Diane of Las Vegas, NM, Tim, Jim and wife, Ginger, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Amanda, Alicia, Alexis, Shane, all of Las Vegas, NM and Wyatt of Albuquerque; and sisters, Anna Thornton and husband, Jack of Houston, TX, Edwina Becker of Glendive, MT and Shirley Lord of Ashford, CT. Tom was born on March 11, 1930 in Limestone, Maine. While growing up in Limestone, he found his love for the outdoors. In 1950, he joined the Air Force where he began pursuing his interest in photography. He married Sylvia Sirois on November 19, 1955. In 1959, the family moved to Albuquerque where he continued working for the civil service until retirement as a photographer in 1985. Upon retirement, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his wife, family and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed sports, hunting, coaching Little League, fishing, and visiting with the many friends he met along the way. Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 11, 1999, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Deacon Al McLane officiating. Contreras -- Raul Contreras, 61, a former resident of Ft. Worth and Dalhart, TX, and most recently of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, March 3, 1999. He is survived by his brothers, Roy Contreras and wife, Dorothy, of Dalhart, TX, and Louis Mendez and wife, Dorothy of Houston, TX. He is also survived by his sisters, Julia Contreras-Murray and husband, Scott, of Albuquerque, Vera Glasco of Vinita, OK, Lucille Springer, Irene Cook and husband, Richard, all of San Antonio, TX; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Raul was born and reared in Dalhart, TX. He received his Bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX, his Masters degree in Education from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN; and he continued his studies toward a doctorate degree at the University of Texas in Austin. Following military service in the U.S. Army, he had a distinguished career as an administrator with the Fort Worth public schools. Upon retirement, he relocated to Albuquerque where he had been a regular participant in the local community, and was actively involved with St. Francis Episcopal Church. Memorial services will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 2903 19th Avenue SE, Rio Rancho, with Father Walter Smith officiating. Memorial services will also take place Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at St. James Episcopal Church in Dalhart, TX, with Rev. Jerry Sneary, Rector officiating. Interment of cremains will take place at the family plot located in Dalhart's Memorial Park Cemetery, where he will rest next to his beloved mother, Josephine Houston; and sister, Caroline Contreras. Raul was a gentle and giving man, and he was loved by all who knew him. His presence is greatly missed here on earth, but he is warmly welcomed in Heaven by other family members and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ewing -- Robert L. Ewing, 79, a resident of Albuquerque for 50 years, died Sunday, March 7, 1999. He is survived by his sons, Robert Ewing, Jr. and wife, Yolie of Superior, AZ, and Thomas Ewing and wife, Kathy, of Amarillo, TX; daughters, Flo Migliore and husband, Richie, of Albuquerque, and Joy Threlkeld and husband, Chuck, of Weatherford, TX; grandchildren, Danita and husband, David, Eleana, Michael and fiancee, Becky, Curtis and wife, Alisha, and Mario; and great-grandchildren, Erinn, Erik and Evynn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen in 1987. Mr. Ewing was in the Merchant Marines during WWII and was a retired mechanic. Garcia -- Epifanio Garcia, 72, a lifetime resident of Canyon, New Mexico. He was a very well known and very well liked man by all who knew him. He passed away on March 8, 1999 at 10:45 p.m. from an aneurism attack. He is survived by six sisters, Carmelita Garcia, Aurora and husband, Ray Martinez, Neyda and husband, Herman Maestas, Senida and husband, Antonio Montoya, Sally and husband, Ramiro Velasquez, Alicia Garcia; nieces and nephews, Victoria and Anita Garcia, Leora Chavez, Nelson, Jerry and Reina Martinez, Tommy, Michael, George and Robert Maestas, Clara Myers, Teresa Simos, Ted, Eugene, Cathy and David Montoya, Alice Howard, Judy Velasquez, Leroy, Pat and Sammy Garcia, Cecilia Coleman, Rita Lucero, Gladys, Nellie, Patricia Abeyta, Louie, Ralph, Benny C de Baca, Pauline Mora. Garcia -- Maria Elena Garcia, 49, a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, was called home to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 6, 1999. Ms. Garcia was preceded in death by her father, Celedonio Sanchez. She is survived by her loving children, Rickey Garcia, Melissa Gonzales and husband, Eddie and Jessie Garcia; two grandchildren, John and Liza Gonzales; her mother, Virginia Sanchez; two sisters, Dora Garcia and husband, Estevan and Sally Jaramillo and husband, Ronnie; three brothers, Michael Sanchez, Wilfred Sanchez and wife, Barbara, and Steven Sanchez and wife, Nikki. Gomez -- Celina A. Gomez, beloved and devoted mother, grandmother and sister, was called home to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 7, 1999. She was preceded in death by a brother, Antonio Armijo. She is survived by her son, Dr. Leo S. Gomez and wife, Mary of Albuquerque; one daughter, Connie Romero and husband, Edward of Reserve, NM; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Lou Armijo and wife, Karen of Belen, NM; and one sister, Sofia Ranagan and husband, Al of Albuquerque. Ms. Gomez will be greatly missed by her loving family. A memorial rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Garcia Mortuary, on the corner of 8th and Stover. Jeblick -- Harold George Vincent Jeblick, 84, a resident of Albuquerque for the past 43 years, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 1999. Harold was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 5, 1915, the son of Henry G. and Carrie Jeblick. He married Olive Victoria Carlson Jeblick on September 14, 1942. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Rowley and husband, Donald of Albuquerque. Olive preceded him in death on July 5, 1993. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 14, 1992 with a family reunion on Cape Cod, Massachusetts where they met and were married within two months. Cremation has taken place. It is not a time for grief, but a time to rejoice because Harold and Olive are rejoined in bonded love for all eternity. In lieu of a service remember Harold as he was in life. Lewinson -- Leo F. Lewinson, 91, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, March 6, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Doris of the family home; daughters, DoAnn Jasper and Riette Mugleston, both of Santa Fe; sister, Jane Kahn of Santa Fe; five grandchildren, Amy McMillan of Santa Fe; Karen Little of Las Cruces, Leslie Porter of Sandia Park, Jeff Mugleston of Taos and Cheryl Mugleston of Albuquerque; five great-grandchildren; and five nephews. Mr. Lewinson was a graduate of Albuquerque High School and of the University of Pennsylvania. He was Past President of Congregation Albert and a volunteer at the Veteran's Hospital. Martinelli -- William"Bill" Charles Martinelli, 81, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, has gone home to be with his wife, Margaret Ann. He passed away peacefully at his home in the care of his loving son, Denis, March 5, 1999. He is survived by his three sons, Rusty Martinelli and wife, Debbie of Albuquerque, Denis Martinelli of Albuquerque and Joe Martinelli and wife, Marian of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Ricky and wife, Burgandy, Corrin, Brandee and Jamie Martinelli; one great-grandchild, Tyler Martinelli; cousins, Frank and Charles Martinelli of Gallup; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Catholic Church and retired in 1991. When he was able, he loved to take his sons to the Lobo Basketball and Dallas Football games. Oleson -- Donald C. Oleson, 65, passed away on March 8, 1999. He was born on a farm near Arlington, South Dakota and was a resident of Albuquerque since 1968. Survivors are a son, Andy Oleson of Peralta, NM; daughter, Leann Bigsby and husband, Rick; granddaughter, Laurinda Smith; grandson, Jake Bigsby of Albuquerque; sisters, Gladys VanderWal and husband, John of Brookings, SD and Mildred Telkamp and husband, Norm of Sioux Falls, SD; brother, Marvin Oleson and wife, Grace of Arlington, SD; and numerous nieces and nephews. Proctor -- Verniece E. Proctor, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1957, died Saturday, March 6, 1999. She is survived by her sons, Roger Proctor and wife, Kay of Albuquerque and Daryl Proctor and wife, Marilyn of Santa Fe; daughter-in-law, Carol May Johnson and husband, Bill of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Susan Kay Gonzales and husband, Steve of Albuquerque, Patrick Scott Proctor and wife, Melissa of Albuquerque, Jenna Claire Proctor, Kyla Ellen Proctor, Jordan Theresa Proctor, all of Santa Fe; and great-grandchildren, Melissa, Emily and Cody. Vandevelde -- Alma VanDeVelde, age 80, resident of Albuquerque since 1950, passed away early Sunday morning, February 28, 1999. She is survived by her sister, Edith Guizzetti of Fort Atkinson, WI; a sister-in-law, Connie Baca of Detroit, MI; and several nieces, nephews, spouses and great-grandchildren. Alma was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish, as well as a member of their Woman's Guild. She also was a member and past President of the former"Italian Women's Cultural Club" and had been a very active volunteer at the Albuquerque Veteran Hospital and Medical Center since 1983. She also retired as a 31 year service employee at Sandia National Laboratory in Albuquerque. Cremation has taken place at French Mortuary and memorial services will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 4020 Lomas NE, on Friday, March 12, 1999 at 9:30 a.m. Services will be conducted by Father Francis X. Eggert and a Christian burial will be held in Kingsford, MI at St. Mary's Queen of Peace. In lieu of flower arrangements, masses may be directed to the Our Lady of Fatima Church, 4060 Lomas Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. She will be missed by her friends in Albuquerque who's lives were touched by her humor and loving friendship.
