Peck -- Nan Peck, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2001. Nan was born as Annie Laurie Whyte on December 6, 1915 in Glasgow, Scotland. One of five girls born to Charles Petrie Whyte and Isabella Mary Cumming Whyte, the family immigrated to the U.S. in 1926, settling in Detroit, MI. She graduated from high school and worked for ten years at the Awrey Bakery in Detroit. Nan moved to California at age 26 where she married Ralph E. Peck, an Air Force pilot, in 1943. He was lost in action that same year. Nan worked as the Brand Clerk for the New Mexico Livestock Board, dispensing brands for the stateťs cattle and sheep. She retired in 1980, after 25 years of service. Nan was preceded in death by three of her sisters; and her husband of 40 years, Albert Peck. She is survived by her sister, Bette Evans and husband, Leonard of Albuquerque; and numerous loving and attentive nieces and nephews and their families. Nan had many, many friends all whom loved her and will miss her. Nan's last days were spent at The Green Project (900 Espanola NE), an elder care facility for ladies, where she was treated with much respect and affection. To these dear people at The Green Project, we give our thanks. We have become a part of their family, which includes staff members and the dear ladies who remain at that facility. Their tears were shed with ours and we will never forget them. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be announced. Arrangements by Aspen Funeral Alternatives, 1935 Juan Tabo NE (323-9000)."She was glad-hearted and fun-loving and admired by many. Rest free of all your pain, Nannie. Weťll love you always."
