Reed -- Robert "Bob" Reed, USAF (Ret.) a resident of Moriarty since 1973 passed away Friday, November 30, 2001. He is survived by his son, John Reed and wife, Ruth of Lillian, TX, and James"Andy" Reed and wife, Kay of Moriarty; daughter, Susan Kirkbride and husband, Carl, of Moriarty; grandchildren, Carl"Arty" Kirkbride, Christopher Kirkbride, Jason Kirkbride, Shawn Kirkbride, Angelica Kirkbride, and Christopher Gafford. Mr. Reed was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Elizbeth Reed on July 24, 1999 and son, Ralph Reed, sister Ruth Coffler, and brother Dwayne Reed. Bob was born in Pennsylvania on December 23, 1934. He married Joan Elizbeth Benton in 1954. Mr. Reed joined the United States Air Force from which he retired in 1972 as a Tech Sergeant. He served in Korea and Vietnam. After his retirement he loved to travel with his wife. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Moriarty and was dedicated to God. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend and will be missed by all who knew him. Services will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2001, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Pastor Rick Britten officiating. Burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Pallbearers will be Andy Reed, Carl Kirkbride, Arty Kirkbride, Christopher Kirkbride, Jason Kirkbride, and Shawn Kirkbride. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, on Tuesday, December 4, 2001 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation of New Mexico, 5301 Central NE, Suite 203, 87108.
