Argeanas -- Thelma Argeanas, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1940, went home to God Friday, November 30, 2001. Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but dreams come true at last there is life and joy. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Gibson and Cleta Harkins and husband, Karyl; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters in Texas and Arkansas. Thelma was born on June 25, 1913, and was a longtime member of Albuquerque Bible Church. Services will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. Bostick -- W. Sam Bostick, age 50, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, November 28, 2001. He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Walker Bostick of Albuquerque; son, Christopher Scott Bostick of Albuquerque; parents, Homer and Charolette Bostick of Albuquerque; sisters, Diane E. Jones of Albuquerque, Sandy Abney of Albuquerque, Debbie Hetes and husband, Ron of Rio Rancho; nephews, Brett Jones, Brian Jones, Michael Hetes; nieces, Erin Abney, Jade Hetes, Nichole Hetes; great nephew, Justyn Jones all of Albuquerque; and numerous relatives and friends. Sam was involved with the Road Runner Little League as a Coach and Umpire. He and his son, Christopher, were also active in their church in reaching out to those less fortunate. Sam loved the Denver Broncos, enjoyed fishing, cooking, cowboy boots and the music from the 50s and 60s. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at Aspen Funeral Alternatives Chapel, 1935 Juan Tabo NE, on Monday December 3, 2001 at 3:00 p.m.

Davis -- Mrs. Melanie Crane Davis, age 37, died of breast cancer on November 30, 2001. God is with us and she is with God. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 3, at 10:am at the Alpharetta First United Methodist Church, Dr. Harvey West officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2pm until 4pm and 7pm until 9pm at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors, 12050 Crabapple Rd., Roswell, GA. Melanie was born in Louisville, KY on March 18, 1964 to Jim and Juna Crane. Melanie was Corporate Counsel for Georgia Gulf Corporation. From 1994 through 2000 she was in House Counsel and Operations Manager for The Powell Group, Inc., of Baton Rouge, LA. She was a Judicial Law Clerk for the Louisiana Third Circuit Court of Appeals from 1991 through 1994. Melanie earned her Juris Doctorate Degree from Louisiana State University in 1991. She was a member of the Louisiana, Texas, and Oklahoma Bar Association and Delta Theta Phi Legal Fraternity. Melanie earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and French from Centenary College, Shreveport, LA in 1986 where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority and the world famous Centenary Choir. She was a member of Alpharetta First United Methodist Church. Melanie is survived by her husband, Douglas Davis of Chamlee; her parents, Jim and Juna Crane of Duluth; her sister, brother-in-law, and nephew, Melissa (Missy), David, and Penn Worden of Atlanta; her grandmother, Gladys Golden of Duluth; Doug's parents, Bud and Polly Davis of Albuquerque, NM. Ercole -- Bruce E. Ercole, 72, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, died Thursday, November 29, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Ann L. Ercole of Albuquerque; daughters, Julia Kelly and husband, Brian of Albuquerque and Jennifer Gray and husband, Bill of Fishers, IN; granddaughter, Camille Kelly of Albuquerque; grandsons, Alexander Gray and Connor Gray, both of Fishers, IN; and brother, James E. Ercole and wife, Kathe of Clinton, MD. Mr. Ercole was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church since 1956. He was a member of the church choir since 1956 and also held several church offices. He served in the US Navy during The Korean Conflict. He retired from Sandia National Labs after 35 years of service. Espinosa -- Ramiro R. (Joe) Espinosa, 39, passed away in Alaska. He is preceded in death by parents, Joe and Carmen (Monira) Espinosa and son, Elia s R. Espinosa. He was survived by one sister, Sandra Baca and husband, Willie; one brother, David Espinosa and wife, Inez; three nieces Angela Baca, Amanda Baca and Deanna Espinosa; three nephews, Willie Baca III, David Espinosa Jr. and Daniel Espinosa; and one grandniece, Cheyenne Quintana. He was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle and friend. We will always remember you as a witty, loving and generous person. Love you always. Fitzgerald -- Grace M. Fitzgerald, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, passed away Friday, November 30, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy B. Fitzgerald, founder of Fitzgerald Ice Cream Co. Grace served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and worked for the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission, and was a member of Highland Baptist Church. Griego -- Mr. Gregorio S. Griego, 74, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on November 29, 2001. Mr. Griego is the beloved husband of 54 years to Mrs. Carol Griego. He is also survived by a two sisters, Connie Chavez and Bernie Sanchez and husband Moises; three brothers, Pablo Griego, Refugio Griego and Valentino Griego; an aunt, Ramona Bernal; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Griego was a member of the Catholic Church, a Veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, he was a member of the American Legion Post 72 for 45 years, retired from Albuquerque Public School in 1985 after 26 years, past president for Local 8670-Communication Workers of America. A visitation will be Sunday evening at 6:30 at St. Edwins Catholic Church with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 by Deacon J.O. Luna. A final visitation will be Monday morning from 11:00 until 11:30 in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12:00 noon at St. Edwins Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona SW, Father Bill Sanchez, celebrant. Herrera -- Ismael Lloyd Herrera, 72, passed away at his home in Canoncito de las Manuelitas on Wednesday, November 28, 2001. He was born September 25, 1929 to Macario and Natividad Herrera. Lloyd was united in marriage to Aurora Herrera in 1952 in Las Vegas. He was a retired principal for the Albuquerque Public Schools, and also served as County Commissioner for San Miguel County. Lloyd was a lifelong Catholic. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson and is survived by his wife Aurora; his son Jesse Herrera and wife Elaine; two daughters Yvonne Herrera and Lolanda Anna Soloman and her companion Manny Ortiz; grandsons Shamash Crawford and wife Kim, Joaquin Lucero and Sean Herrera; two granddaughters Janel and Clarissa Herrera; two great grandsons Drew and Chase Crawford; two brothers Joe Herrera and Henry Herrera. Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM. A rosary will be recited at 7:00pm on Sunday, December 2, 2001. Father Vincent De Fazio will celebrate a mass of Christian burial on Monday, December 3, 2001 at 10:00am, with burial following at the Canoncito de las Manuelitas Cemetery. Jimenez -- Jenaro"Henry" S. Jimenez Sr.81, a resident of Moriarty, NM, passed away Thursday November 29, 2001. He was born June 13, 1920, to Pasqual and Minnie (Swarts) Jimenez in Santa Rita, NM. He is survived by his sons; Henry Jimenez Jr., and Cathy of Yorba Linda, CA, James Jimenez and his wife Eloisa of Moriarty, NM, Roger Jimenez of Albuquerque, NM, Chris Jimenez and his wife Jennifer of Albuquerque, NM. His daughters JoAnn Romero and her husband Lawrence of Winsfield, KA., Florence Baca and her husband Tom of Albuquerque, NM, his brothers Arturo Jimenez and Julian Jimenez, he is survived by his sisters Clara Martinez, Luncinda Garcia, Rosa Esquivel, Marie Miranda, Sara Puentes and Rita Holguin, 26 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He's preceded in death by his wife Elva Marie Jimenez and his brother Pasqual Jimenez and his sister Virginia Munoz. He was a member of the American Legion Post 13 in Albuquerque. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him. A rosary will be recited Monday December 3, 2001, 5:00 PM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic church. A mass will be celebrated Tuesday December 4, 2001, 10:00 AM with Father Anthony Martinez officiating. Burial will take place at the Mount Carmel Catholic cemetery. Jr. -- David P. Keller Jr., 49, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away after a lengthy illness November 19, 2001. David was a member of the American Institute of Architects and a founding partner of Rohde May Keller McNamara Architecture. David played a leadership role on numerous important building projects during his 26 year career as a practicing architect in New Mexico. David will be remembered for an unwavering passion for excellence complimented by his always sensitive and caring way with people. David is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Maria Consuelo Moya-Keller; mother, Jacqueline Valadao; sisters, Deborah, Stephanie, Janine Keller; half-sister, Kathryn Holl; brother, Eric Keller; sisters-in-law, Patricia C. Lei -- Ray Y.C. Lei, 74, a resident of Albuquerque for 26 years, died Thursday, November 29, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Lei; son, Stanley Lei and wife, Cynthia, all of Albuquerque; sister, Yung-Ching Lei; and niece, Angelia Ma, both of Taiwan. Mr. Lei was an avid Tennis player and also enjoyed playing Table Tennis. As a father, he made many sacrifices to enrich the lives of his family. Mr. Lei will always be loved and remembered. Lucero -- Kenneth Lee Lucero, 44, of Albuquerque, NM passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2001. He was born October 5, 1957 in Seattle, WA. He is survived by two loving daughters, Alyssa Leigh Lucero, 10, and Cristen Elizabeth Lucero, 8; and their mother, Denise Lynn Ramirez, 35, all of Albuquerque. Ken leaves two brothers, Anthony Lance, 43, of Rio Rancho, NM, and Ernest Lyle, 42, of Bentonville, AR; and two sisters, Deborah Louise Johnson, 39, of Rio Rancho, and Patricia Ann Lucero, 36, of Albuquerque. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Grace Poling Lucero of Los Lunas, NM and preceded in death by his father, Ernest Lucero of Page, AZ. He leaves three nieces and five nephews. Ken was a member of IBEW Local 611, an avid fisherman and shade tree mechanic intelligent and kind. He was a dedicated and beloved father, brother, and son. His wit and humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Manzanares -- Toby Manzanares of Rio Rancho passed away peacefully on Friday, November 30, 2001. Toby served in WWII and was employed in Los Alamos for 17 years. He retired from the NM Department of Motor Vehicle. Toby was the owner of Toby & Stella's Drive Inn in Santa Fe. He is survived by his loving wife and companion of 53 years, Stella. Toby is also survived by his daughters, Florence Perea, Suzanne Dominguez, and husband Enrique, Patricia Romero, Debra Walker and husband James; sons, Paul and wife Becky, Bobby and wife Liz, David, Larry and wife Theresa, and Mark; 23 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ernestine and husband Ernie, Clorinda and husband Tom, Reggie and husband Bob, and Stella. Newmaker -- Deanna Hudgins Newmaker, 37, died Friday, November 9, 2001 in Colorado Springs, CO. She was born June 25, 1964 in Los Alamos, NM. She attended Los Alamos Public Schools and worked as a health care provider and homemaker until her death. Survivors are her two daughters, Chantelle Schoolcraft of Colorado Springs, and Danielle Newmaker of Monument, CO; parents, Jim and Lois Hudgins of Los Alamos; a brother, David Hudgins of Tulsa, OK; a sister, Sheri Ryan of Littleton, CO; nieces and nephews. Reed -- Robert "Bob" Reed, USAF (Ret.) a resident of Moriarty since 1973 passed away Friday, November 30, 2001. He is survived by his son, John Reed and wife, Ruth of Lillian, TX, and James"Andy" Reed and wife, Kay of Moriarty; daughter, Susan Kirkbride and husband, Carl, of Moriarty; grandchildren, Carl"Arty" Kirkbride, Christopher Kirkbride, Jason Kirkbride, Shawn Kirkbride, Angelica Kirkbride, and Christopher Gafford. Mr. Reed was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Elizbeth Reed on July 24, 1999 and son, Ralph Reed, sister Ruth Coffler, and brother Dwayne Reed. Bob was born in Pennsylvania on December 23, 1934. He married Joan Elizbeth Benton in 1954. Mr. Reed joined the United States Air Force from which he retired in 1972 as a Tech Sergeant. He served in Korea and Vietnam. After his retirement he loved to travel with his wife. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Moriarty and was dedicated to God. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend and will be missed by all who knew him. Services will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2001, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Pastor Rick Britten officiating. Rubio -- Edward G. Rubio, 80, a lifelong New Mexico resident, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2001. He was born on October 13, 1921 in Brilliant, NM. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, June Anita Rubio; children, Joe and Vera Galle, Dan and Ginny Koonce; five grandchildren, Joey, Abraham, Lucas, Danielle, and Laura; four sisters, Susie Young, Nellie Johnson and husband, Ben, Melinda Sanders, and Maria Chavez and husband, Ben; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Valentina. Mr. Rubio was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He was awarded the Silver Star for Conspicuous Gallantry in Action. He was also awarded Two Purple Hearts. Mr. Rubio was a life member of the DAV, American Legion Post 49, Veteran of Foreign Wars #401, Purple Heart 2484, Paralyzed Veteran's of America and The Ballut Abyad Legion of Honor. Cremation has taken place and memorial rosary will be recited Monday, December 3, 2001, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Patricio and Tillie Cruz reciting. Rutz -- Alfred Rutz, 87, a resident of Florham Park, NJ, formerly of Rio Rancho, NM, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2001. Alfred was born in Switzerland, and had lived in Springfield, NJ before retiring to Rio Rancho. Alfred served in the US Army Medical Corps during WW II. He had been a Pharmaceutical Operator with the CIBA-GEIGY Pharmacy Company before retiring. He was a member of the International Chemical Workers Union #9, where he was president for three years. For 30 years he participated in the mixed seniors bowling league and was still bowling earlier this year. Fred was very involved in the American Legion, was Past Commander of the Springfield American Legion Post 228, Union County Commander of the American Legion, Post Commander Rio Rancho American Legion Post 118, Chef DeGare- Voiture 703 of the 40/ 8 in Albuquerque, Charter Member of the Rio Rancho Veterans Honor Guard; as a member of the American Legion, he was also involved with the Special Olympics and the American Legion Baseball. Even when he was not an officer, he was always an active part of the American Legion. He was a loving husband and devoted father. Alfred was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Ann (Simmons) Rutz in 1999; he is survived by his children, Carol A. Allen and husband, Matthew of Florham Park, NJ; Ellen B. Decker and husband, William of Laughlin, NV; John A. Rutz and wife, Linda of Sararita, AZ; Willis G. Rutz and wife, Barbara of Tobyhanna, PA; Wayne A. Rutz and wife, Nikki of Columbia, MD; grandchildren, Darren J. Allen and wife, Deborah; Kristen J. Allen; Keith J. Allen; Tracy D. Salazar -- Jessie Franklin Salazar, 84, a resident of Albuquerque for 28 years, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Victor C. Salazar; daughters, Gloria Salazar and Diane S. Taggart; three grandchildren, David and Rebecca Taggart, and Molly Salazar McGowan; and sons-in-law, Terry Taggart and Andrew McGowan; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. Jessie was born April 19, 1917 in Watertown, TN. She graduated from Cumberland University in 1938 and went to work in Washington, DC in 1941, where she met her future husband. They lived for many years in Latin American, both in Mexico and Panama, where her husband worked for both private industry and the US Foreign Service. When they returned to the Washington area, Jessie began working for the National Institutes for Health in the Regional Medical Program, where she was grants administrator. She and Victor retired to Albuquerque in 1973. She was an active member of her church, St. John Cathedral, where she was a founding member of the Society of Mary. Jessie was also a charter member of the Albuquerque Embroiderer's Guild. In their retirement years, they enjoyed extensive travels, both in Europe and across the U.S. and Canada. Jessie loved flower gardening and was an avid reader, a wonderful cook, and an accomplished stitcher. Throughout her lifetime she was a mentor to many women, a good friend and loving mother, grandmother, and wife. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to either Presbyterian Hospice Fund at Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation, PO Box 26666, Abq., NM 87125, or to the Cathedral of St. John, PO Box 1246, Abq., NM, 87193. Valdez -- Richard (Dick) R. Valdez, Sr., 66, a beloved and devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend was welcomed into the arms of the Lord our Savior Jesus Christ, Wednesday, November 28, 2001, after a long illness. Dick will be missed tremendously by everyone who had the honor of knowing him. He was a kind and generous man who befriended everyone he met. Dick was a Charter member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter III, and of the American Legion Post 100. He is survived by his loving children, Bernice Rivera and husband, Emilio, Julie Montano and husband, Paul, Richard Valdez and wife, Christine, Victoria Springer and husband, Jim; his precious grandchildren, Michael, Marc, Brian, Beau, Jessica, and Nicholas. Also surviving are two sisters, Esther Ramirez, Mary Montoya; very dear friends were Helen Chavez, Cynthia Valencia, and Ebenia (Binnie) Martinez; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of other friends. A Memorial Rosary will be recited Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. Vigil -- Jose Florio "J.F." Vigil, beloved husband, father, brother, friend and coach passed away on November 30, 2001 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. J.F. was born August 1, 1947 to Bernave and Rebecca Vigil in Springer, New Mexico. J.F. was the fourth child, and the middle brother of six children. J.F. attended Springer Public Schools through his junior year of high school. He graduated from Highland High School in Albuquerque in 1965. JF attended the University of New Mexico, graduating with a degree in Business/Accounting. While attending UNM, JF began working for Hertzmark-Parnegg Realty. After graduation, J.F. remained with Hertzmark-Parnegg in positions of increasing responsibility. J.F. served as General Manager of Winrock Shopping Center for many years during the late 1980's to mid 1990's. J.F. was affiliated with Terranomics, now Terranet, until his passing. J.F. was particularly proud of the national award winning Riverwoods Shopping and Housing Development in Provo, Utah, which he spearheaded. In addition, J.F. served briefly as the Executive Vice President and President of BGK Asset Management in Albuquerque. J.F.'s other true passion in life was basketball, in particular coaching or assisting with his son, Carlos' teams. Carlos also played on numerous club soccer teams, and J.F. conceded that soccer was good for footwork and off-season conditioning for basketball. J.F. was very proud when the Basketball Congress International (BCI) Under 14 Team which he coached and that Carlos played on, won the New Mexico State Championship and qualified for Nationals. J.F. loved coaching, encouraging, and developing many boys on numerous basketball teams and tournaments, such as "Hoop-It-Up", Gus Macker, AYBL, BCI, and AAU. J.F. is survived by his loving wife Angie, and their son Carlos who is a freshman at La Cueva High School. J.F. and Angie were married 25 years. For many years, J.F.'s focus in life was his career, but Carlos's birth brought many joys to his life. J.F. was able to pass down his love of sports, especially basketball, to his son. J.F. spent many hours coaching and cheering Carlos' teams in both basketball and soccer with Angie's support who was a willing transportation driver to games near and far. Angie organized the moms and kids when J.F. was gone on numerous business trips. J. F. usually made it home for Carlos' games. J.F. is survived by his loving wife Angie, their son Carlos, his brothers Ed Vigil of Anaheim, CA and Carlos Vigil of Denver, Co; and sisters Isabel Lopez of Denver, CO, Margie Kuhlman of San Manuel, AZ, Lucille Arvizo of Raton, NM and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and in-laws. J.F. was preceded in death by his parents, Bernave and Rebecca Vigil. Services will be held Tuesday December 4, 2001 10AM at Central United Methodist Church 1615 Copper Ave. NE. Services under the direction of Strong-Thorne Mortuary.
