Slanten -- Rosemary E. Slanten of Albuquerque passed away on Monday, July 16, 2001. Born in Detroit, MI to Wayne and Marie Robertson on March 7, 1929, she first moved to Albuquerque at age four. In 1943 her family moved to Durango, CO where she met and fell in love with Kenny Slanten. After attending college at Colorado State Teacher's College, Indiana University, and the University of New Mexico, she went on to graduate from Airline Hostess School in Kansas City, Missouri. On July 25, 1950 she and Kenny were married in Albuquerque. Rosemary lived her life loving her husband and their three children. Her life was focused on helping others, and she was very active in P.E.O. and Cosmopolitan Women's Club, becoming President of each organization. She loved music, and sang with the Sweet Adelines. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Kenny; three children, Jeff, Dave and Nancy; their spouses, Kaye, Donna and Mark; and four grandchildren, Bryan, John, Bethany and Kenny. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. N.E. on Friday, July 20, 2001 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2001, 10:00 a.m. at the St. John's United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona N.E. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. N.E. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John's United Methodist Church Pipe Organ Fund.
